A player making some sense

On the lack of pass rush early in the season . . . ) “Things work hand-in-hand: pass rush, coverage. It’s a team effort, not just the pass rushers, not just the cover guys. It’s a team effort, and we have to get to the quarterback in order to cause interceptions like it happened today. If we get tight coverage on the corners, you know some more sacks will come.”

Peek has finally said what many of us have been saying for some time. Also, his other quote was giving the coaches some credit for making a few good calls when they got their sacks and pressures. I hope they see these comments and realize that they need to step it up and run some riskier blitzes more often. What else do they have to lose? its not like big plays are a rare thing against this D this season. I also noticed last night how horrible the left side of the defense was yesterday against the run. All preseason everyone talked about Peek being terrible against the run, but i thought he did a decent job last night keeping Alexander from either bumping it outside on his side or stringing him out 10 extra yards. In my biased opinion i think Antwan has really improved his techniques and his play against the run this season. I also think the coaches have his so worried about playing OLB properly taht he is still making a few too many hesitations on plays instead of trying to make a play.

I am not saying this happened, and I want to go back and look at the tape, but for some reason the Texans have been swapping sides with Orr and Peek that last few games so you need to make sure who is on which side.

My greatest single frustration with this season is Fangio's inability (along with Capers) to adjust what they are doing and use the strengths of their players. The point of drafting Dunta and trading for Buchanon was to get guys we could leave in man and then blitz. Instead we far too often have dropped everyone, my personal favorite--LEFT LB's COVERING WR's (my wife is even starting to yell at this one but that may just be to beat me to the punch) and waited in a zone until oh my god, someone found a soft spot and got a 1st down. Hey Vic--time to try something different. The attitude that trying something different is riskier is what kills me. Is this working?--nope. What is riskier than 0-5?--it seems like this staff thinks there is a correct answer to that which is "really 0-5." Fangio needs to have Orr and Peek both pass rushing every pass play and about 50% of the time blitz another player.

They were definately switching them, but it was mostly in pass situations. And i do have a bias towards peek so i tend to pay attention to him on most plays. I do recall that on a few plays where he was lined up on the left, the seahawks actually ran it to the right or straight up the middle. But fangio is making himself look like an *****, and maybe its Dom making him, but they need to blitz 5 every play

I guess according to Dom, the LB one on one with the WR is simply not executing! LOL

I agree totally with that. I never understood why the Texans went after P-buc if we weren't going to be aggressive. I am not saying P-buc is a difference maker but I remember last season too. Glenn would be way off the ball in a zone.. I couldn't believe that TD pass that Seattle got that was so easy.. It was a little slant and they had Coleman way off of the WR.. I just don't understand why we are so passive and have been for a couple of years now at CB..
