A need or two...

wolf123

Rookie
I know alot of people feel it too early or refuse to think about it b/c we don't know the exact number that we pick.
OUR NEED's
1. Secondary help, either at safety or corner
2. Linebacker,
3. defensive tackle
4. running back
5. offensive line
Draft
Round 1. 5-10 is where we should be picking, the texans won't be going OL given that they believe they found their LT of the future in Charles Spencer and they still like eric winston.
LB- no one in the draft will be good enough at our pick, good value in the second round
Rb- Adrian peterson will be gone, Marshall lynch is a real possibility, but I doubt kubiak is willing to give up on wally lundy
Secondary- This is where the texans will gone in round 1. Either hall or Laundry, both would be a huge boost.
Round 2. This is where takeing a linebacker would be a great value, you have the possibility of paul posluszney, buster davis, Patrick Willis being available
Dt- This is also a huge possibility, even though we have already invested numerous first round pick on the line.
S- micheal griffin, brandon merriweather- good value here
OVERVIEW
1. Marshall lynch, leon hall, laron laundry, gaines adams
2. patrick will,paul poluszney,michel griffin,Demarcus tank tyler,
3. Ol, Runningback

who's marshall lynch............. it's Marshawn lynch. first round has got to be hall CB or adamsDE, a good late round target is RB Yvenson Bernard out of Oregon St..

If Puslusny is available at our #2 I would love to see him here next to DWreck, helluva combo.

Intill I see something from our Oline I say Oline be it through free agents or the draft. There has been some improvments put nowhere enough.

Oline
Secondary or LB

Then where ever we need help at next .

With the success Kubes has had in the draft so far, I say let him do whatever he wants to do and I'll just be a yes-man and defend his choices to the death.

We can use help almost everywhere.

We probably won't look at tackles until later rounds in the draft, especially since we are using denver's playbook and Kubiak coached under Shanahan and they were especially good at finding value at the oline position later on in the draft. Remember that with the oline in the zone blocking scheme it is all about getting players that fit into that scheme, and generally players that work well in the scheme can be found in later rounds. I wouldn't be surprised if we spent the first 3 rounds on a combination of LB and secondary, with secondary being a primary concern. In the first 3 rounds I would love to come away with a CB, Safety and either a second Safety or a LB. I feel like those are our weakest areas on our team. Everything else will start coming together later this year and early next year. Remember the coaches put in entirely new playbooks on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball and there is always going to be an adjustment period for the team until they get a firm grasp of the playbook and the execution that needs to be made on every play. I look foreward to our offseason moves and wouldn't be surprised if we went after a couple key free agents including linemen. I would love for us to make a push to sign Clements and lock down the other side of the field and relieve some pressure on Robinson.

I definatly agree, I would not be shocked at all if in the first three rounds we went all defense. Ol, Rb are traditionaly found later in the draft in the denver system. I woulnd't be surprised at all if in the first three rounds we came away with something like this, LaRon Laundry, paul posluszney, aaron ross. That would definatly help out or back seven and leave the rest of the draft for offense and Dt.

I would expect to see Poz coming off the board in the middle of the first (which, BTW, is where I think the Texans will be picking). Of course, this time last year I felt the same way about Demeco Ryans.

So naturally, a knock-out pick in the early 2nd, but a bit of an unlikely one. Ryans fell to us due to Carpenter, Sims and to a lesser extent Greenway, rising thanks to post-season workouts. It'd take a similar shift and a bunch of juniors coming out to knock Poz to the 2nd.

It's too early to be picking players out. We don't know what juniors are coming out, and we can still disagree about where the Texans are picking. Keep it positional at this point. CB, LB should be our 1st round priorities, but exceptions can be made if an elite OT is available (Thomas or Gaither).

Finally a thread about something other than David Carr...I disagree, I think the front office will consider drafting O-Line. I guess no one thinks we should be looking at the QB's...just a thought. A safety who can knock the crap out of someone would be nice.
GO TEXANS!!!:redtowel:

Well I will say this IF we go RB in the 1st round it will be Adrian Peterson if still available if not then I could see Posluszny or Leron Landry. Most of the guys you are hoping for in the second will likely be gone by the latest end of the first round.I agree that CB or safety is a huge need so Landry or Leon Hall CB from Michigan in rd 1

Rd 2
If Buster Davis from FSU is still there I would definantly jump on him though.
Or a DT but I would also not at all be suprised if we went all defense.

I just can't see them drafting him unless they plan on moving Weaver to DT full time......

I don't know what guys see in Davis.....I've watched him play a couple of times, and I wouldn't touch the guy until the 3rd.....at the earliest....

edit: I don know what guys see....I will admit that he seems to be a competitor...He seems to fly to the ball and he seems to arrive with bad intentions...So I'm not going to rag on him too bad, but IMO he is a 3rd rounder at best...He has some issues that may hinder him at the next level...

Secondary help is really called for with our first pick. If we can get Landry we should jump on him a FS like him can make life easier for the rest of our secondary, if he's not there we should go after the best CB available. Best Cover Corner available. That should be the 1st rd.

Second rd. should be the best LB or DT available. Whichever presents the best value. Both positions can use added talent.

Third rd. should be a tackle. That's my opinion because both of our tackles are aging and we need depth as well as quality. I guess we could take one in later rds. but I don't want this position to be addressed as an afterthought. After that I trust Kubiak to do whatever he thinks is best he's done a great job so far.
