A&M and Army at the Alamodome

I am glad we are winning, but I hope this soft schedule isn't going to keep us from being prepared to go up against Texas Tech in 2 weeks!

Anybody know if we will be on TV before Thanksgiving?

Too bad the Aggies are playing Army at the Alamodome. When Army was in CUSA, that game was always a highlight when they came to play UH in Houston and the Golden Knights Skydiving team would parachute onto the field before the game.

They also would have tanks, Apache helicopters, humvees etc. on display. We used to include MRE's on our tailgaiting menus in honor of Army.

Should be a good game.

I can't wait for this game. Me, two of my friends and my dad are making the trip to the game and we'll be sitting down low. If ya'll watch the game and see a couple of crazy kids with hair dyed and faces painted, you might be seeing me lol

Apparently somebody forgot to tell Army they were part of A&M's "soft schedule".

Ross just cost his team the game. On 3rd and goal with :09 you call a running play? How 'bout you call another pass play and if it's no good, you still have a 4th play to run/pass?

Francione sucked and if it wasn't for that STUPID call by Army at the end of the game for a running play, I think A&M would have lost. Why would you call that play? They had 9 seconds and had been very successful with their slant pass plays -they had time to fire off 2 of them and they likely would have won it or gotten picked and lost.

And why didn't Fran punt when we were on our own 30 yard line? If he really had confidence in his team, he would have punted and expected his defense to step up. Oh, right....... they hadn't stepped up all night.

:brickwall

We had a good game. My biggest concern is our rush defense, of course. Our offense pleased me and our pass rush and pass defense was decent. McGee is going to be a stud.

That last drive for Army was so crazy. A lot of stupid mistakes went in our favor (as well as theirs.... did you see that pass interference? Was not a good move), but we still defeated them when they tried to pass, or shut it down.

All in all a good game to watch, better than TU vs. Rice. What a snoozer.

McGee was great. Lane looked like he could be really good with a little coaching. We squeaked this one out.

Can you believe TCU beat TT and kept them out of the endzone !!!!

Too bad it wasn't at Kyle Field. That would be really cool for them to parachute in - the crowd would really eat that up.

I read this and thought it funny that you have a quote in your sig making fun of UT fans.

But you're right...it was a good game to watch. The celebration by the A&M team was priceless. :D

You never learn, do you? I read these threads to keep track with McGee, who I was impressed with last year, and see you knock UT. Get over it, we're not Tulane, Toledo, or any other school pretending to be UT. Can't say I disagree though, 45-0(:yikes: ) was enough to get me to turn the channel.

I'm an Aggie, I never learn. :yahoo:

P.S. - I agree, seeing TU playing is enough to make me change the channel. :redtowel:

BINGO. Spot on. Intertaining game though.

Maybe next year the ags can schedule some high school teams for their non-conference games.

I know some highly talented brain surgeons. PM me and I will give you their numbers.

JUST KIDDING, dont have a cow. You are silly, though. Silly person.

I’m silly? Have you read anything you have posted? Maybe you are right. Maybe the ags have the toughest non-conference schedule in the nation. Maybe it’s one powerhouse after another. Yea, I’m silly.

Yeah, I agree, that powerhouse Rice was a handful for the Texas last night :) Now back on topic, the Aggies offense was decent last night, not sure, but somewhere between RC and Francis, the wrecking crew got cut from the squad. Sorry excuse for a defense last night imo. I don't see Francie staying much longer with the Ags after this year, we're in for some major defeats this year with him at the helm. He can't recruit, and apparently he forgot how to coach LOL

I went to the game this weekend and it was a rough one to watch. Anytime we made a mistake, Army capitalized. We were all just stunned in the stands that it even came down to the last 2 minutes to decide the winner. I don't understand why we didn't throw more deep and test their secondary (11 total attempts) J. Lane was ridiculous. He just runs over guys. We finally had some turnovers but if we don't stop the run soon, Adrian Peterson will run for 500 yards.

There was a big regression from week 2. There were a lot of stupid mistakes i.e. 2 Army scoring drives that were saved by 3rd/4th down penalties and multiple fumbles. I don't know how long Courtney Lewis is out, but A&M might be in big trouble if a 2nd RB doesn't emerge since Goodson seems to have some big fumbling problems.

I'm still waiting for you to tell me what I posted that makes you think A&M has played a tough schedule. I can point you to many threads where I have referred to most of our schedule as a "cakewalk". Stop assuming things.

And yes, J. Lane looked a lot like Jerome Bettis in that he tore through the defense. Earl Campbell maybe, but that would be pushing it. I love the guy.

I think it is clear to anyone with any reasonable level of intelligence that a&m plays one of the weakest (if not the weakest) non-conference schedules in the nation. I was quoting Huge’s “soft schedule” post. Barely beating Army, and beating the Ragin’ Cajuns and The Citadel does not seem to me to be something to boast about. If the cakewalks are a little to close, what’s next?

What is next is a game against Louisiana Tech and then Texas Tech, both at home. I think we have a good chance to beat them if we can put a little more work in on the rush defense. I take these things a game at a time.

I am not saying that we can beat Texas. As an Aggie, I want it to happen. But that doesn't mean I am blind. On many occasions I have cited the fact that we have an easy schedule. We are gradually playing better teams and I hope that it will be beneficial to McGee and everyone else on the team. We need a lot of work, but to write off the Aggies as a nobody team is not something I will tolerate. Just like when people try to harass the Texans.

Heath, you're like a troll man...you see it clearly says A&M at the top, yet, I suppose you think you'll ruffle some feathers with your vain attempt at blowing your own horn. (pun intended) I don't go to other teams boards, nor do I post in a thread that has nothing to do with my team. I'm sure your appreciated and loved by someone, go find them. And don't bother responding, you've been added to my ignore list along with countless other trolls :)

Who said I don't have classes for UT? I have English.

Edit: response to negative rep.

Most of us don't work for the Texans or own season tickets, so how different is it for me to say "we" for UT and most of us saying "we" for the Texans?
