A horrible choice

If you only could keep one player (glad this should never happen I hope). Who would you pick to keep?

Robinson or Johnson.

Whew.... this is a hard one for me.. I would have to say.... Robinson.. He should have went to the Pro-Bowl this year, and he is just a rook. Johnson is Awesome... dang.... Robinson... final answer.
:hairpull:

I'd have to say Johnson. I'm not taking anything away from Robinson, but an offensive weapon like AJ is just too awesome to let go. Look at the difference TO made with the Eagles this year for an example of what a great offensive threat can do for your team.

AJ has some intangibles that go beyond just being a reciever. His ability to take a 1 yard dump pass down the field like a RB or TE is beyond what you'd normally expect from a WR. His height and ability to dominate opposing DBs will make teams gameplan around him, which will allow our other offensive weapons to thrive and flourish. Plus, his quiet demeanor at a position that is usually filled by loudmouths and showboats makes him a locker room leader that can't be measured.

Put it this way: AJ will be one of the top 4 receivers in the NFL (already in the top 10) next year.

Robinson will be one of the top DBs, no doubt, but will he be in the top 5 of the NFL? Only time will tell!

Fortunately, we have both players and don't have to make that choice!! :D

I'd get rid of the guy that's telling me that I have to let go of one or the other. Barring that I would keep AJ. We need the offense.

Wow...I agree.

Why are these offseason threads coming up right now? There is not going to be anything to talk about come spring time.

My quick answer is KEEP JOHNSON, but, hey, I'd have to see what I could get for each of them in trade and then things get complicated. By the way, Johnson is probably the only one I would keep over Robinson.

JOHNSON over robinson.

robinson is a pro bowl type player but teams game plan against johnson, not so much against robinson, they still throw his way. oh, and robinson is an injury waiting to happen, he cant keep hitting bigger guys the way he does and not get hurt. both are great players though.

I think I would have to go wth the young kid Dunta, basically just based on our talent base. If we got rid of AJ we would have Jabar and Bradford starting and also we would have Armstrong in the slot, DD can receive out of the bacfield and when given the chance Billy Miller can be very productive.

If we lost Dunta we would probably have to shift Coleman back to corner exposeing a weakness at the safety position and we would still have two CBs that are getting up there in age.

I think our D would suffer more without their big play maker than our offense would.

One is a freak of nature--one is a very good football player--both play fantastic. Now you tell me which you keep? The answer seems obvious to me.

Why is this even a valid question at this point in time? I would hope that we could keep both of these guys. Good teams mange to keep the best players. Good teams play hard to the end. I think we will keep both of these players and add some better FA's, because we are winning right now. I am sure that if Stroud or Henderson was a FA next year they would consider playing for the Texans, because we played with such heart and we are moving up. I can't wait to see what FA's we get early in the offseason.

Oh my God...

It was just a hard question in fun, not that we are in this situation. Gez people, a few of you almost sound offended that you might have to choose. It is a question that we might have to answer one day (hopefully) long down the road. For example, Payton Manning, Marvin Harrison, Brandon Stokley, Edderin James sitiution they are going through due to cap. Take the question for what it is, a question that we dont have to answer in real life right now, but one that might have to be made in 5 years (hopeful, not even then) :thud:

Defenses plan around Johnson, I am not too sure if Robinson demands that respect yet. That is the only comment I am going to make on that.

A shut down corner is a great help to a defense, and can make all the differance in the world in the way the rest of the defense can run schemes... But unfortunately, the defense is not made by 1 man. All the DBs and deep men must work together as a team. No 1 man can make or break a defense.

A single very good wide reciever affects the game more than any DB could ever dream of. Defensive schemes must cover tight, double coverage is best. Sometimes we see man D with a single maybe strong safety working a zone/man, to help double cover yet take away the pass across the middle. Run the reciever deep down the sideline and our strong safety suddenly must fall back into deep double coverage, and subsequently open up the middle for mid range passing. All this softens the Ds ability to attack the quarterback and defend against the rush. so now you have soft coverage on your remaining recievers/TEs, and reduced pass rush and run defense, and the likelyhood of the middle opening up for your TE.

I'm pickin the good reciever any day of the week. :twocents:

i'd take johnnson just because he is such a offinsive weapon that will help this team get to where we wanna be ! I love D-Rob also, he's tha man
