2nd round, Texans?

With the moves in free agency, they can use the #33, #65, & #66 to add, perhaps exclusively, some O-lineman and secondary prospects.
 
I agree Toro,I think they will use #33 on a CB/S, and #65,#66, on OL, and DB. Denver has had good success with mid to late RD OL picks.:twocents:
 
I think them taking Sinorice with #33 is assuming that we do NOT acquire Moulds or Walker. I think we will get the Moulds deal done & take Winston or Mangold with #33. If not, I think this may be right on with Moss.
 
I will tell you right now regardless if Moulds or whoever is brought in we will not draft Sinorice Moss with the first pick of the Second round. If Winston is there he will be drafted, and If he is not which is more likely Mangold will be drafted. Demeco Ryans we likely would not draft anyway he is a mid second rounder anyway.

Yeah, they'd still be in the hunt for a receiver in some round. But if they turn that 4th rounder into Moulds, then that simplifies the 2nd and 3rd rounds significantly. They can take the best O-lineman to drop out of the 1st round with pick #33. Then they can use #65 and #66 to work on the secondary. Perhaps they could deal up if they find someone they like.

I would also add Cromartie and possibly Ko to that list.
 
Even though we have Putzier, what if Pope falls into the 2nd round. Any chance we trade down 10 spots or so in the 2nd and pick up a low 3rd maybe? I like anyone who's 6'7", can run and catch...of course, I like Mangold too!

Thoughts?
 
Putzier will be solid in my opinion. I would rather use #33 on a bigger need. I know I preach about taking a guy for talent & the best player available, but Winston & Mangold is what I would use. I like Pope. A Lot. I am a UGA fan & I would love to see him here though.

I'd be upset if they passed on either of them as well. I think Moss will be just as explosive as his older brother. IMO

Davin Joseph and Wimbley are not worth the #33 pick. Both deserve a third round grade IMO. Cromartie will go right around our pick I think, but he is a risk.

Perhaps not a bad idea, but their #33 is at the top of the 2nd round. That places them in a nice spot to be able to nab someone who's fallen out of the 1st round. If they can get who they want at #33 at #43 or so, then yeah, it'd be nice to be able to pick up an extra 3rd rounder.

I think Winston will be gone in the mid-1st, as of right now he's the 2nd best OT in the draft and I've heard there are a lot of teams in the mid-late 1st that really like him (Dolphins, Cowboys among others), so I don't see him falling to #33, but I'd love it if he did.
 
i must say i really i dont like the pick especially if we can get Moulds but i want moulds for nothing he is going to be cut i dont want to give up any draft picks for him we worked to hard to have such good picks.:twocents: i really dont like passing up talent like Nick Mangold Eric Winston

The Bills are supposed to be looking for a 4th round pick for Moulds, I definitely don't like us giving up our 4th rounder for him, but I would be ok with us giving up our 5th rounder for him if we can sign him to an appropriately-priced contract, and the Bills may take that trade since it's practically a 4th round pick.

I definitely don't like passing Mangold and Winston, but I would not consider Jean-Gilles for our team. He has good skills and pretty quick feet, but he's way too big and can't physically move his body well enough to be in our system. He really needs to lose 20-30 lbs. to be a more effective player (he'd still be huge at 325-335 lbs. but would probably gain a lot more athleticism).
 
6'2 220 Darnell Bing or 6'1 200 Ko Simpson would be really nice w/that 2nd pick. That could be a HUGE upgrade for our backfield.

Davin Joseph is the best OG in the draft IMO and in other drafts would definately go in the middle to late part of the first round depending on team need.

Wimbley has a first round grade currently on more than a few boards I believe but I will not be disappointed if we pass on him to take one of the other two mentioned and give Babin/Peek one more year to bring the heat.

I agree with your assessment of Cromartie...probably a boom or bust pick and can we afford that kind of a risk with #33 in a deep draft? The boom part...6'2" 205 with 4.4 speed and very good hands lining up opposite DR makes me salavate. The bust part of the ACL repair scares me.

IMO, that is why we take Joseph if all three are there at #33 which they may be...he is solid value and a very safe pick that will fit Kubiak's system well for 10+ years in the league. We can't afford another 2nd round blow up (Buchannon, Babin). Just my two cents...fun to speculate though on moves that can almost only make us better.
 
I like Cromartie as well, If J. Joseph is gone. The question I had about Cromartie though is how likely is it for him to re-injure himself. I mean once the injury is healed is he more prone to the same thing happening again or is the percentage the same as before. He ran a 4.36 at his pro day so it looks like it's completely healed.
