2025 Senior Bowl

I’m very split between two players on offense with #25 selection. While I don’t feel, this is BPA approach (higher DL prospects available) writing on the wall. Fix CJ and in doing so fix the offense.

That being said, there is a bigger gap between WR who could jump start this offense than OL. Texans could still get a starting LG second round, but not outside true #2 WR, to pair with Nico.

So as much as I’m impressed with NDSU OT/OG Grey Zabel, have to go instead, with TCU WR Jack Beck. He gives me Ladd McConkey vibes, with bigger, stronger frame. Both players cemented themselves worthy of 1st rd grades. Prefer Beck over Burton (who is more slot than outside threat).

Both players show outstanding consistency for positions. Wish we could have both, take Beck, then trade up for Zabel using 2nd/3rd picks would provide huge boost to Texans offense.

We think pretty much alike. I've got Bech as a middle/late 2nd rd pick. I also like Savion Williams, Jalen Royals and Tez Johnson a lot too. There are only a few day one IOL starters. Booker/Jackson/Zabel are my top 3. I'm getting one of these guys and hoping one of the 4 WR's I listed falls to 2-59.

With that said, if say Jackson is the pick at 1-25 and Zabel fell to 2-40 I would trade up to get him, even if this meant using 2nd/3rd rd picks and/or future picks. I believe these 3 IOL are day one, 10 yr starters. CJ would be well protected for yrs to come. Then I'm picking a guy like Jaylin Noel/ Juice Wells/Theo Wease later in the draft. I've got Noel in the 4th rd. What I'm really hoping happens is Caserio spends a 4-5th rd pick on the best blocking TE in this draft IMHO (Jackson Hawes TE Georgia Tech) if he doesn't spend a higher pick on a TE like Mason Taylor.

I'm hoping Caserio signs both Tylan Wallace and Bo Melton in FA. They should both be fairly cheap signings. (This wont happen) What I'm afraid Caserio is going to do is listen to CJ and spend the money on Diggs and the money spent on Diggs could've been used to sign both Melton and Wallace.

I want a nasty, mean Oline and Zabel looks to be the type to bring that attitude.
You want a mean nasty OL then you should hope Booker or Jackson falls to 1-25 and Caserio trades up into the top of the 2nd for Zabel. Booker/Zabel are 2 really nasty OL. Pair them with Tunsil/Fisher and draft a blocking TE like Hawes and this OL will take on a totally different attitude.

Get WR's in FA/later in the draft.

Yeah, I'd be ecstatic if this was the draft. I have no desire in DL and only want a TE if Loveland (maybe) or Warren (no chance) fall. Give me Oline in the first and second and let everything else fall where it may

You’d take Bech in round 1? All of the analysts I’ve been following have him in round 2.

Ideally if we could find a trade partner, I’d trade back from 25 to end or round 1 or early round 2, draft Zabel or Donovan Jackson for OG and then get a WR with our other pick. Another option could be one of the TEs or RBs instead of WR.

Respect your opinion. I’m not on WR bandwagon, want a stud interior DL. But need, fit and class defines reality of situation. Diggs walks in FA (too expensive) Tank is probably out next season. Leaving you bag of marbles, no time to hew & haw draft value (for CJ & new OC). He is so consistent, stout and viable #1 outside threat. Don’t deviate!

WR class is suspect. Need a tough, big body WR who can step up & handle NFL physically. Nico has fought the hard fight, off and on injury report, CJ needs consistency, reliability and playmaker. Unfortunate things, have happened, it sucks, but Texan WR room has to get bigger, tougher and physical. Bech embodies all these attributes plus long speed.

I love Bech and hope he's there at 2-59. He would be a great pick. I dont know that he has great long speed though.

But If I had the chance to draft Booker and trade up for Zabel I would be all over that and sign a young FA WR. (Melton is my favorite. Then draft a developmental WR in the 6th rd Like Tennesee's Thorton. I would even trade up into the 5th for him.

Just watched the senior bowl and had a hard time with names and couldn’t understand the announcers. I muted the tv as it sounded like a off main st pool hall. I did see some good plays and players however again I was lost with who was who. Must just be my old age but even the CC was confused.

You’re unwavering, not fluid. Spent all week watching these practices and not including those not here. Some may slip to Texans (Booker) possibly? I’m just doing draft analysis off Senior Bowl, and several in Mobile will be drafted before 25.

I’m saying Bech 1st. Biggest need and BPA for that need. I’m not waiting for PFF to adjust their board. See what I see!

That was the Shrine Bowl, Senior Bowl is Saturday

He’s not. Both Bech & Zabel are risers based off Senior Bowl practices. Be interested to see if their agents recommend them not playing in the game?

Anyway simulated mock on PFF very difficult to pull both off, doubt draft could possibly yield outcome. Have to be one or the other.

I missed the first half, but highlights show that Jaxon Dart had a good day and Ollie Gordon with a nice run and a 32 yard halfback pass for a TD
Zabel & Bech both money, finishing off strong week of practice. Some interesting QB prospects of every flavor, all going to get drafted somewhere.

Man if Zabel and Bech are there at 1-25, I'm picking Zabel and trading back into the 1st for Bech. Even if it costs 2-59, 3-91 and a 2026 second.

These are exactly the type of guys that needed to be added. Did you see how natural Zabel looked at center today?

Always thought of Bech as a 4th round guy. Got caught up behind some very good WRs at LSU so transferred to TCU where his first year was pretty dull too. Had a breakout season this year and his senior bowl efforts has him on the radar. Peeps looking for those diamonds in the rough like McVay, the key is actually using and developing them as he does.

I wasn't able to focus on the game all the way thru. But from what I saw, Zabel have didn't d-linemen on top of him. We knew he could get out to the next level. I wanted to see Zabel handle the guy right in front of him. Still, some questions, but Zabel would improve the Texans o-line athleticism.
