Dell is more about quickness, finding the hole, and YAC.
He's a surer thing than Hyatt.
He fits the scheme much better.
This offense is going to be very dynamic between running the ball and play action, bootlegs, involving the TE and the RB also.
It's going to be multi-facet, and not depending on a number 1 receiver.

If Metchie is fully recovered from cancer and the ACL the team will have two WRs that can create separation quickly in their routes. A much needed change from past seasons where only Cooks could consistently separate.

His problem is that he came from a spread offense, and many do not believe he will transition well when he has to play in more confined space. The belief is There is he's lived with so much space available for him to release into and adjust to coverage that his processing and timing will be big time challenging in the NFL. And that's not to mention his build is slight and he has not been known for physicality. He won't win too many fights for the ball.

Hyatt's not going to be a high volume WR, but a team can find ways to get him off the LOS. He serves a purpose of vertical stretching the defense. That has value, or should.

You know me, I'm always concerned with the injury factor. He has not dealt with any major injuries in college since his high ankle sprain that messed up his red shirt year. But at 5'8" 163 lbs, you have to worry in the NFL, especially at slot.

It's very difficult to determine BPA though.
Let's take 2002.
Who was BPA?
Or 2006.
Or any number of years.
Should Mahomes be BPA the year he came out?

That right there should throw a wrench into the BPA practice.
Mahomes was not even on the top four QB list on a number of sites, let alone BPA.
He wasn't drafted until the Chiefs traded up for him.

How do you determine BPA is always the question.

Then there were instances with Leaf and J Russell.
Were they BPA?

IMO, there were so many flaws in that theory (by itself).

There weren't concensus best available player at the very top to begin with.

IMO, the smart GM and/or HC go with the flow.
Those with vision of the trend, the rule changes, the way the league move forward, etc. - can make the best adjustment on how to use the resources.

The team also needs to manage its millionaires, the egos, the childish behaviors of some individuals, and so on.

I had said this more than a decade ago, the GM and the HC need to be able to navigate all these millionaires of the moment.

It's good to have a HC like DR, who's current with the trend.

There is truth to that but everyone in college plays in a spread. I was a Hyatt guy because he can hit his head on the goalpost every play.I like Dell too.They needed explosion either way and got it.

Fraction Jackson and Mike Wallace. Those types have a purpose in the nfl and are accounted for. You can motion a guy to get him off jams, its not hard.

No one trades up in the 3rd for a special teamer (non kicker).

Watch his video. Polished routes, good hands, ridiculous separation ability. To quote Lance Zeirlein, "Every second of the route is a separation opportunity for Dell, a touchdown-making machine who pairs electrifying top-end speed with twitchy short-area quickness."

The glaring holes have been filled. Can go BPA. I expect Texans to trade back one of the 4s now and then package picks to move back up again later… because why not?!
