2023 Combine

If Texans take BPA @ #2 it's pretty clear that player does not play QB. Bears are gonna trade "the one" out so Colts can jump them ironically, the team who tanked against the Texans last game. And as far as you guys are concerned whom cannot even compromise a top 100 list, due to Texan narrative so be it. Get what you sow.
It's who the Texans feel is the BPA @ #2 that jump starts the "Hell yeahs" vs the "Ah shitz"

I'm hoping we can revisit this and come to a compromise.

They need to give rid of the 40 for certain positions. I saw a guy pull his hammy after he ran. :(

For Bryce, doing anything can only hurt his draft stock at this point. If anything, he’ll throw at his pro day where everything is scripted ahead of time in an environment he’s comfortable like most top prospects do.
Some have commented that not throwing at the combine will hurt him. Not sure if this is true or not, but not the best look to duck out of drills that compare you against the top of the field. Did Bryce not not want his arm strength to look subpar in comparison to others, so he left it to his Pro Day instead? Makes you wonder.

Again, if Young was just a pocket passer I would be ok with average NFL arm strength (at best). But he's expected to make a lot of plays out of structure and there's plenty of tape showing ducks in a condensed pocket.

Wow... A defensive end ran a sub 4.4 forty?? That's a first for me. Damn, he can be a deep vertical threat wideout with that speed. That's insane for that position! Although I guess he's more LB than DE.

Edit: vertical jump is in the 98th percentile, according to Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema. His 10-8 in the broad jump was in the 95th percentile. Guy is an athletic freak...

He is a SAM who can also cover every TE In the league. He’s a perfect fit for DeMeco‘s SWARM defense.

He's gotta be under consideration at 1-12. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if Anderson and Smith were the two 1st rd picks.

Adds badly needed elite speed to the defense and would be a great fit with Harris. I want to see Smith in drills to see if he can cover TE's. He's probably never done this before but he certainly has the athleticism to do it. He was a difference maker as an edge too. So you could drop him down on 3rd downs to pair with Anderson rushing the passer. A true chess piece, which is what I was looking for when I suggested Sanders at 1-12.

Ideal 4-3 OLB. But I'm sure he'll do well in any scheme.

Personally, I feel like CJ Stroud had the better media session and you got a feel for him as a player.

I liked Young’s confidence about controlling what he could control though.

From what I’ve seen of the interviews, he seems like a great kid and hard worker. He seems like a ball of clay that Ryans could mold. I think #12 would be too high for my taste, but I’d consider him at the back of round 1.

If he shows he can play LB and cover TE's I'm on board with Smith at 1-12. Supremely talented guy with a great work ethic. You could do alot worse at 1-12.

Kancey and Nolan Smith made themselves some money this week. I’m interested in both. I’d move Smith to OLB and pair him with Harris. Now you have two athletic guys that can rush, blitz, and hopefully cover. I think that’s a projection regarding Smith but athletically he fits.

Trade 1.12 and move down a bit and take Smith if there or Kancey if he’s gone.

I dont care how fast he is, a 280 lbs DT with 30 inch arms I'm not picking before the 4th/5th rd.

Fair point, but there's no way he's lasting to the 4th round. Or at least I don't think so. Then again, I'm not a pro scout.

Am I the only guy that doesn't know his arm length? I'm 5' 10" and seem like fairly average-length arms too. What's just a normal-sized guy like me supposed to have?

This is why he would be off my board. He will be long gone before I would pick him.
