2018 Compensation Picks

I was surprised Dallas had 4 picks. Who did they lose to warrant getting all of those picks? Was it their secondary? They must have done the same thing the Texans did and not get anybody in FA last year which seems odd to me because they always seem like they're in the market during the FA period.
As for the Texans, it was pretty much what I thought as far as the picks. There will be 2 big gaps in their draft (1 to 68 and 106 to 180) where some good players will fall unless they decide to move up. I hope they don't try to move up into the 2nd rd unless there is a special OT, like Crosby, within reach. They're probably going to need every pick they have to fill their needs, especially if they "strike out" in FA.

Looks like the Texans almost got a 7th rd pick for Jones. It's funny, i don't even remember the dude!
That's generally how it works. Have cap room? No comp picks the following year. Are up against the cap? Comp picks galore the next year.
