2017 NFL Draft - Day 2 discussion thread

Not sure if this is entirely necessary, but there's a labeled rnd 1 thread, so.

And as we look forward to this evening's shenanigans ... who do you want see next for us, who else around the league needs what, who's slipping, how much do you love/hate Rick/OB today, have you mocked 2018 yet ... and so on ...

My eyeballs are on these dudes..

Cam Robinson
Zach Cunningham
Forrest Lamp
Dion Dawkins
Taylor Moton
Tyus Bowser
Dalvin Cook
Marcus Williams
Jordan Willis
Budda Baker
Caleb Brantley
Chidobe Awuzie
Malik McDowell
Antonio Garcia
Dorian Johnson

And I know, many will be gone by 57. But this is all fluid of course and here's just where day 2 begins. So, who you got?

WHO we get I can't predict, WHAT we get had better be at least one, perhaps two good o-linemen. I would totally love it if they went balls out for o-linemen tonight. Granted, of course, they can find good ones with their selections. If we don't come away with a few good o-linemen in this draft I fear for Watson's future health.

On day two I'm hoping for a OT and a S. Maybe a 5 tech.

Maybe if we trade back and pick up some picks for next year, that'd be nice.

Interesting chart showing all of our picks in history and where they were selected. Glaring holes in S and OL, both of which needs addressing today.

There will be good players on the board for us to take that's for sure! Would be great to have 6 picks in the next 2 rounds like the Seahawks this year!

I'd also really like to snag an OL or two, but I really would love to see us get Budda Baker or Williams at safety. I'm thinking we are going to see a bunch of OL go in this 2nd round.

It would be pretty much impossible for me to pass on either Marcus Williams, Zach Cunningham, or Chidobe Awuzie. Regardless of OT need. I'm not passing on any of those guys.

What i want to see is offensive linemen ,but i fear as usual there may be a run before our pick.

I expect a trade back somewhere today to aquire an addional pick next year.

D'Onta Foreman could be to the Texans that EE was to Dallas and Prescott last season.

Sign me up for D'Onta Foreman! I think a backfield of Foreman and Miller takes a lot of pressure off whoever goes under center the season.

What if Mixon falls to us.....I don't think RB is a high need, but he is crazy value late in the 2nd.

Commercial after the first pick on espn. Lol, man Disney needs to divest themselves of this trash. They are way too good of a company to be saddled with this sinking ship.

I think a good offensive line makes everyone's job easier. Would love a RB but OL and S make way more sense here.

This team had a very tough time running in the red-zone. Miller is a between the 20's back and Blue hits the pile of humans in front of him pretty hard and does a nice job on ST's. 3rd and short was very hard to count on.

I agree RB is a need (depth wise), but OT and S are much bigger needs. Are there any free agents left we could sign for RT?

Jags grab Cam Robinson OT. My favorite OL Forrest Lamp on the board but teams project him more as a guard.

Robinson is a big strong guy but poor technique. We should still be ok against them! haha

RS has to do something he hasn't done very well in the past....hit homeruns on Day 2! He has 2 late round picks in RD's 2 & 3 to shore up several holes that he neglected to address during the off-season. One thing RS does not have the luxury to do on Day 2...trade up and sacrifice more picks in 2017 or 2018. Texans biggest needs:

RT
RG
SS
OLB
CB
RB
FS

This list cannot be set in any particular order since the way players become available on the board will dictate how the team may want to select them. Maybe the way to go about this, set up a mini board for each round and the players from each position listed above that fit.

RD2
OT: Robinson, Dawkins, Moton
OG: Lamp, Pocic, Feeney, Johnson
SS: Melifonwu, Jones
OLB: Bowser, Williams, Cunningham
CB: King, Awuzie, Wilson, Moreau
RB: Cook, Kamara, Foreman
FS: Baker, Maye, Sanders-Williams, King

23 Potential Targets to Find 1

RD3
OT: Garcia, Davenport, Holden
OG: Asiata, Siragusa
SS: Evans, Jackson
OLB: Anderson, Anzalone, Biegel
CB: Tankersley, Tabor, Witherspoon
RB: Perine, Mixon
FS: Hill, Johnson

17 Potential Targets to Find 1

If, by chance several RD2 targets are still on the board when the Texans pick arrives....maybe there's an option to trade back and still get 1 of these targets and grab an additional pick in this draft.

Damn, Arizona is going to be tough in the back end. Budda Baker is going to fill all the little holes they had. Glad they aren't in our division.

Agree, have Lamar Miller so less a priority, RT = zero

Miller just doesn't cut it inside the red-zone. Blue knows how to hit a pile of humans really hard and plays better on ST's. Foreman and Miller would be a sound tandem. I still have some OL options in RD2 but Robinson and Lamp are gone.

I agree but their are 3 or more RBs that would be nearly as effective that can be found later, can't say the same about some of these dbs, tackles, etc
