I was thinking the same thing. Man his agent should be on top of that.

If Mathews is smart he will skip the combine.
I'd have my hoodie up over my head too if I was in Mobile yesterday, it looked cold there and I wouldn't be surprised if BOB asked Clowney if he could wear his ?In fairness, it was apparently very cold and windy at the practices, and Clowney is the only one in the picture wearing a hoodie.
I have Zumwalt graded as a 3rd rounder. Crazy to me that I keep seeing him in the 6th round in mocks.
Among South Team's Wed. standouts: GTech OLB Attaochu, BYU OLB Van Noy, SJSU QB Fales & unfortunately Utah CB McGill: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/...owl-olbs-attaochu-van-noy-step-up-to-pressure …
Dee Ford is owning the team period. So damn fast.
Walt Aikens is stripping the ball consistently. Great reach and rip.
Jordan Matthews very quick off the line. Poor Lavelle Westbrooks got left in the dirt. Looked like his shoes were tied together.
Three times I've seen Keith McGill lose on a drill and he's immediately hurt. Not a good look if you're limping after every bad play.
#Jaguars coaching staff has stressed the location of their QBs eyes/head this week and the difference between Monday & today is shocking.
Under the radar no longer, Wyoming's Huff, Herron, NIU's Ward and Lindenwood's Desir turning heads at Senior Bowl. http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/draft...-the-radar-defenders-highlight-north-practice …
I know many of you have soured on Sutton. I’m still a big believer.
I’m going to have Dom Easley, Sutton and Donald all top 20. Interior disruption is king.
I repeat it everyday, & might be the wrong thing to question teams that stick by measurements and have success…But Donald is a top 20 player
I think Billy Turner ends up in the second round. Brandon Thomas too. Big fan of both and they win in different ways.
Draft twitter was ahead of the curve on Jimmie Ward. Wouldn’t be surprised if he is the third or fourth S off the board.
Packers scout not alone in feeling Tajh Boyd/Clemson undraftable. Another league insider told me they would not use a draft pick on the QB.
Seantrel Henderson/T/Miami. When he's on his game he's outstanding. Just destroyed Trent Murphy in full scrimmage.
Aaron Donald/Pittsburgh ripping it up again in practice.
Wisconsin Badgers James White/RB and Jacob Pedersen/TE looking good in drills.
Marcus Smith/Louisville struggling in coverage drills.
WISC LB Borland is an animal. Great instincts. Strong this wk as rusher and in cvg. Doesn't have measurables but who cares. He's a player!
Zack Martin just met his match in Trent Murphy. The length and burst of Murphy got him flailing.
Virginia Tech DE James Gayle leaving the stadium with an injury.
Zack Martin is good, y'all. Fluid moving in his slide. Moves with hands loaded. Just a little short armed for conventional LT.
Josh Huff showing off really impressive body control today.
Love QBs that can alter release point and keep accuracy. Tajh Boyd seems to alter but accuracy struggles.
Marqueston Huff looks like a safety trying to play cornerback... which he is. Rough day in man coverage vs wide receivers.
Really like Zack Martin from Notre Dame. Have talked to teams that have him as a guard. Handled himself well at LT though.
Josh Huff is going hard. Just laid out to go after the ball in the end zone.
Liked Chris Borland a lot heading into the week. Still do. His instincts are amazing.
Really like Ahmad Dixon. Just showed nice range getting to pylon from centerfield.
North QBs all throwing high so far today. Timing always an issue with little chemistry on all star rosters.
Iowa LB Kirksey has really flashed all week. Was the SAM for Hawkeyes, but looks like a WILL to me. Very athletic. Can rush the pocket too.
Logan Thomas overthrows Josh Huff, but the two huddled up to work it out. Tajh Boyd hasn't been sharp this morning.
Effortless arm strength from Logan Thomas on deep outs. Ball comes in hot and on a line.
The North's best corner today and perhaps all week has been Nevin Lawson from #UtahState - sticky in coverage with good timing. #SeniorBowl
#Oregon WR Josh Huff winning battles with physicality at the top of his routes. Has made a number of impressive catches away from his body.
#UCLA WR Shaq Evans continues to shine. Just plucked a well thrown Logan Thomas pass with one hand in the endzone.
Wisconsin's Jared Abbrederis attacks the ball. The most natural hands-catcher on the North squad, maybe at the entire event. #Badgers
Wyoming's Robert Herron is a quick, fluid mover; but let a couple get into his body this morning & dropped two in a row. #SeniorBowl

Tony Pauline ‏@TonyPaulineFinal note of the night: Whether we agree with it or not, the NFL is still a height-weight-speed league when it comes to most scouts.
Dee Ford is crazy fast, but he's a lot more than that too. Love his awareness and how he uses his arms to frustrate the QB
Will say this about Thomas--guy wasn't developed at VaTech. No progression from Y1-Y2-Y3 as a starter.
As for Logan Thomas' draft stock, I have no idea honestly. Will vary wildly between teams. Developmental guy to me with lot of risk involved
Second-best quarterback in Mobile, by far, has been Jimmy Garoppolo. Spinning the ball, quick & compact release. Like him a lot.
A quote on Logan Thomas from team source: "I can teach a guy to throw. I can't teach him to be 6'5", 250 and fast."
.@joelklatt Most disappointing player for me this week has been Will Sutton. Just looks too heavy, too slow compared to former success
#Texas WR Mike Davis could be next Longhorn to breakout in NFL system. He's too fast to jam at the LOS. See him learning, developing daily
#Princeton DT Caraun Reid has been fun to watch. Short, squat body but explosive. And really good hand use to disengage, swat.
Arkansas DE Chris Smith has been very impressive getting off the ball. He's violent, attacking player. Short, but long arms and thick chest
I like Zack Martin and Brandon Thomas quite a bit, but neither has really dominated a practice yet. Hoping to see that tomorrow.
Haven't been blown away by any of the OL here as of yet. Hoping Day 3 brings some consistency. No one on a level with last year's crop.
Setting the scene: Very windy in Mobile today. Carr's passes cut through the wind on every route. Snapped WRs hands on impact. #velocity
Guess what Derek Carr did (again) today after practice? Practiced with Mike Davis and Jordan Matthews. Dude is a grinder.

I've heard a lot about this cat this week and have been trying to find cut ups of regular season games. You seen any?
I just want to see if he has this motor all the time or is it the Senior Bowl?
He might be able to move inside in a 3-4 if he added another 10-15. He looks quick enough to me

"McCarron told al.com that he battled through numerous injuries during the 2013 season, including toe, shoulder and hamstring injuries.
He had been criticized for bypassing the Senior Bowl, which is played in his hometown of Mobile, Ala. He had been seen as a "healthy scratch," meaning there was no known medical reason for him to skip the event.
"When it came time to decide, I asked the advice of our team doctors, who are some of the best in the country," McCarron said. "They said I should stay out of the game and get my body back to 100 percent healthy."
McCarron said that while his shoulder does not require surgery, fatigue had been an issue since midseason..."
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...d-medical-reasons-kept-him-out-of-senior-bowl
His shoulder was fatigued? He didn't even throw the ball that much. Sounds like some spinning going on to soften up the criticism he's been getting.
What we don't know is how much he threw in practice 5 times a week.
And there was Carr's issue with pressure showing up. Two plays in a row.
This is the first time all week Jordan Matthews has looked like himself. Attacking every ball.
And then he just got beat by Cody Hoffman on a jump ball in the end zone.
After a rough start, Cox from Jax State has made some nice plays in his first day down here.
Christian Jones and Telvin Smith looking good today. They close in a hurry, especially Smith.
The issue for David Fales has been hiding the ball too long.
Kevin Norwood probably having his best practice day after getting hollered at a few times this week.
Derek Carr is clearly a better player than the other QBs here and it's not close.
Bad missed catch for Mike Davis. Super talented and had a good week, but he needs to catch that.
Coverage work paying off for Christian Jones who just picked off a pass at the goal line.
Chris Davis just got beat high by Tulane's Ryan Grant in the end zone.
Jordan Matthews has shown today he can go up and high point the ball. He hasn't done that as much in previous practices.
Coaches praising Derek Carr for improving on and hitting his second option.
Most @seniorbowl standouts this wk on DEF side. CB's Keith McGill and Jean-Baptiste, PITT DT A. Donald, WISC LB C. Borland, AUB DE D. Ford

Two o-linemen who I have gone back & changed my evaluation/ initial grade on post-Sr. Bowl are Gabe Jackson and Morgan Moses (both positive)
I'm thinking about creating the Weston Richburg fan club…anyone else want to join? We could make t-shirts, bumper stickers and coffee mugs.
Watched WRs today. Highly intrigued by Bama's Kevin Norwood. Strong route runner/natural hands. There's a place for him at the next level.

@MockingTheDraft Agree - plus 73 underclassmen who entered the draft last year and 29 seniors who pulled out of this year's Senior Bowl
I asked 5 NFL personnel guys who will be the top #SeniorBowl prospect drafted. Results: Zack Martin (3 votes), Carr (1), Donald (1)
Last yr SR Bowlers Eric Fisher, Lane Johnson, Ziggy Ansah went top-5 overall. This yr? Zack Martin. Maybe Carr, Hageman, Donald go 1st rnd?
I can't date back 20 yrs, but last yr had 3 Senior Bowlers in the top-5 overall. This year probably won't have 3 in the 1st round #NFLDraft
FWIW, one NFL personnel guy told me this week that this is the "worst group of Senior Bowl prospects in 20 years" #NFLDraft

Once again Playoffs, OUTSTANDING job.
FYI - the names above if they were really any good at their evaluations and reports they would be NFL Scouts but they're not. Rang is one exception, with his own website that partners with CBS makes more than the average NFL scout and has survived doing this for a very long time, he's legitimate.
FYI Rang is as wrong just as often as any of those guys. Probably even more so. I'll go with LZ over him any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
Your prerogative but I find Lance is in the same class as McShay, Miller and Jeremiah.
While it doesn't totally lack merit, a week of four practices at the Senior Bowl far outweigh what will happen during Saturday's game. In front of crowds of NFL personnel executives and scouts, players had a chance to raise their NFL Draft stock in a completely new setting.
Several players helped themselves, but others struggled..
We polled six SEC players who have had a good look at Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel over the past two seasons, and they roundly see him as a top talent whose skills should translate in the NFL as he prepares for May's draft.
Among the opinions of him we gathered here at the Senior Bowl, here’s a sample of them:
MOBILE, Ala. -- Although the Senior Bowl will not be played until Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Central Time, nearly all NFL personnel have left Mobile, because the practices carry much more weight than the game. It's important to remember that many players, such as offensive tackle Chris Williams, receiver Andre Caldwell and cornerback Alphonso Smith, have shined in Mobile and struggled in the NFL. On the other hand, prospects such as cornerback Richard Sherman, running back Chris Johnson and quarterback Russell Wilson did not have great weeks of practice in Mobile but are now top-flight NFL players. With that said, I held a staff meeting to determine which prospects had the best weeks of practice, and below is our top 10 (listed in alphabetical order)...
Maybe the North quarterbacks were not morning people, or maybe they simply were all who we thought they might be...
I'm surprised nobody over the last page is talking about the TE from Georgia, Lynch. He looked solid as a receiver and was killing it in the blocking drills by all accounts.
Georgia TE Arthur Lynch had a big day. Several wins in 1-1 redzone period of practice..Clean route runner, strong hands.

Funny how two people watch the same practices and have two very different conclusions about Hageman.
Minnesota DT Ra'Shede Hageman: Hageman is one of the most polarizing prospects in the 2014 class because of his remarkable height-weight-speed combination and his marginal production. He tantalizes scouts with his imposing physical stature (6-6, 311) and freakish athleticism as an interior defender. Hageman's length and movement skills are rare finds at the position; it is one of the reasons why he has been a standout defender during the first days of practice. He overwhelms interior blockers with his athleticism, yet has also shown the ability to win using strength and power.
Unfortunately, Hageman doesn't rev up his motor consistently to dominate overmatched blockers on the interior. That was one of his biggest issues in the regular season; it remains a concern watching him work against blockers in one-on-one and team drills.
While Hageman has certainly flashed impressive raw ability, he needs consistent reminders from Atlanta Falcons' defensive line coach Bryan Cox to finish each play. The former Pro Bowler has been loudly encouraging Hageman to give maximum effort on every down. From pursuing downfield following pass rush attempts to sprinting after the ball on each play, Cox has been on Hageman about his urgency and effort.
If Hageman heeds the message and exerts maximum effort on each snap, he could very well become the Pro Bowl-caliber defender that many envision based on his imposing physical dimensions and athletic attributes.
Funny how two people watch the same practices and have two very different conclusions about Hageman.
Eye of the beholder. Someone sees a 6'6, 315 lb athletic freak and it doesn't matter how he looks right now because of his "potential" to be so much better later down the road.
I liken it to the Logan Thomas situation. Guys are fawning over the guy because of what he looks like physically and bashing on guys like Tajh Boyd. I don't think there is any question who the better QB is. The issue is Thomas has a perceived upside that dwarfs Boyd's.
A scout sees Boyd throw and says "he can throw the ball, but he's only 6' feet tall". A scout sees Thomas throw and says "I can teach him to throw, I can't teach him to be 6-6". A lot of the time, scouts and draftniks fall in love with a guy because of what he looks like and not because of what he can do on a football field.
Funny how two people watch the same practices and have two very different conclusions about Hageman.
Funny how two people watch the same practices and have two very different conclusions about Hageman.
Most of the stuff I have read has not been very complementary of Trent Murphy. I was pretty high on him, but we may see a Chase Thomas like fall with him in the draft. Really depends on what he does at the combine.
More than 100 players-all of them from college football’s recent crop of top-tier seniors-plunge into a microcosm of NFL life during the Senior Bowl showcase. They learn an NFL playbook, receive NFL coaching and have their strengths and weaknesses picked apart. For the group of North team quarterbacks The MMQB followed during the week-Boyd, Virginia Tech’s Logan Thomas and Miami’s Stephen Morris-this was uncharted territory.
Falcons coach Mike Smith, whose staff is coaching the North team, offered this bit of advice to players at the first team meeting: This is a job interview, but don’t look at it like that.
Easier said than done, right?
Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald has been selected as the Most Outstanding Overall Player during Reese's Senior Bowl practices, the top honor in the Alabama Power Practice Awards.
...Jimmie Ward was selected as the Most Outstanding Defensive Back for the Senior Bowl practice week. Ward is a safety from Northern Illinois.
Auburn defensive end Dee Ford was selected as the Most Outstanding Defensive Lineman,
and Auburn place-kicker Cody Parkey was selected as the Most Outstanding Specialist.
The other position awards included:
Most Outstanding Quarterback: Derek Carr, Fresno State.
Most Outstanding Running Back: Charles Sims, West Virginia.
Most Outstanding Receiver: C.J. Fiedorowicz, Iowa
Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman: Zach Martin, Notre Dame
Most Outstanding Linebacker: Chris Borland, Wisconsin
He never had it easy.
Sitting in a quiet hotel room detailing a complicated past, Wyoming wide receiver Robert Herron opened up about a life not many could understand.
Raised in South Central Los Angeles, a place where the odds are not in a young man’s favor, this story includes no silver spoons.
A stoic Herron, driven by a need to succeed and persevere, couldn’t help but succumb to the emotions of his past.
A brief moment of vulnerability from a rock-solid young man soon dissipates as Herron continues sharing his journey of strength, focus and determination. At every step, every new encounter, he faced a myriad of challenges around each corner.
He never had it easy.
At 14 years old, Herron spent two months living in various hotel rooms, sleeping in cars, never a consistent place to rest his head.
He was homeless.
Herron’s father was incarcerated when he was four years old...
Charles Sims reminds me of Matt Forte. I have a feeling he will have a good pro career.
The sources I use say all QBs had accuracy issues due to high winds but only Body is singled out? Well wind is not supposed to be an issue today's game. Let's see.
