2014 NFL Draft Thread

I've been saying give me Murray since early this morning.

After that....I don't see any starters in the near or even distant future...

I like Brett Smith but as a 6th or 7th round wish in the wind type of project.

But to me, Murray is the man. I really like him as a QB and I think he could beat out the other QB's at some point this coming season. I really like him.

I have him rated above G-polo and Mett so.

Murray may be one the better pure passers in this draft. My knock on him is at the end of the game in do or die situations Murray often losses his composure, lacks being cool, calm and collected. Has been known to go Tony Romo on several occasions. SEC Championship Game vs Alabama, 5 sec away from Nat'l Champ and he throws it to a RB covered by 2 defenders at the 5 yd line. That's one of a couple examples.

Here make up your own mind. LINK!!!!

from the 3 clips from last season I see a player who is a good blocker and probably has a great catch radius.

down side is poor route running and no speed.

teams will know if we play him it will be as a blocker.

how will he fit into a ZBS? (I know nothing of how that works)

I like Murray best of the remainder as well.

Ummm, talent level over forcing needs.

Talent level and need have to be matched.
To the Texans Rookie QB value : Ryan Fitzpatrick value has to be compared to Whatever player we draft : whoever else we have at that position

At the same time you have to ask yourself: IF we don't draft the G at 2-1 which G could we get at 3-1? If we don't draft the TE at 3-1 which TE can we get a 4-1? IF the talent level dropoff in QB is more severe, you have to reach to get total value later on

We've never, ever had a position of need like we have now in QB. And it's going to be 4th round + before we address that need. 4th+ round QBs just aren't successful in this league. Odds are severely stacked against us.

A team can mask a weakness at guard or a weakness at TE. You cannot mask a weakness at QB and win the superbowl anymore.

Same concerns I have with Murray. I also think that his intermediate throws lack zip. I can tell he has the arm, he just doesn't put it all on there.

The Patriots must have a big need for a quarterback at the moment then.

Honestly will end up a waste just like when they wasted a 3rd rd pick on Mallett. Let's not forget that. Guy has no shot of playing in 4-5 years and they will be in the same position.

Can anyone tell me why we're so excited about Nix?
Commentators are saying he's got serious injury concerns, conditioning concerns and is lazy. Total non-factor at the end of games. Whats the attraction?

The fall in the draft has got to be a wake up call for the kid. If he is going to make it in the NFL, it has to be at Houston.

We've surely got the players to be able rotate personel as well if needs be to manage fitness.

BOB just trolling all those going nuts about a QB. LOL awesome.

I think it's funny that you think going to bat with Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm is some hilarious prank. Defense doesn't matter when you throw picks on your own side of the field. Offense doesn't matter when your QB is a 10+ year journeyman who hasn't been successful anywhere he's ever been

"LOL we don't have a QB." I must have missed the joke. This isn't basketball or baseball. The QB is the most important player on the team in any sport. And we have no one

I haven't been this excited since we drafted David Carr (sounds more ironic that it actually is).
