2013 TT Member Mock Draft Discussion

With the 215th pick the NY Jets select Daimion Stafford, FS, Nebraska

Stafford is a smooth athlete with the flexibility and foot speed to accelerate in a flash and blow up plays with his aggressive attitude. He uses his eyes well with the football awareness to break down the action and waste little time making accurate reads in both run and pass coverage. Former Nebraska linebacker Lavonte David was another JUCO transfer and became a second round pick after two seasons in Lincoln. Stafford isn't at the same level as David, but will try and follow that same path.

Philly selects.... (edit changed the pick)

Joe Vellano DE, Maryland.

I am a bit surprised this guy is still here. Nice 3-4 DE in the 7th.

Seahawks selections so far: OT, TE, QB, OLB, Wr

Some of their fans are also looking for a Nickel DB, a DT, a RB, and a S.

Their fans suggest either Micah Hyde or Demetrius McCray at CB

Seahawks took DT Abry Jones with the last pick; the above is what they can use.
They can also take another DT for depth since they have a lot of picks left.

Well, I surely hope the Titans actual draft goes no where near as well as that. I'm not sold on Ansah, but the rest of your draft is awesome for value.

I'm having buyers remorse on Ansah...if I had it to do over again I would have taken Jonathan Cooper out of NC. I think the Titans go OL to try to help counter JJ Watt.

I vote Micah Hyde.

Has Johnny Adams-CB been picked? He's got good CB potential and would make a good SS if it didn't work out at CB.

He's still there and would make a nice prospect at the nickel spot.

I think we should go ahead at make this pick before 4:00 P.M.

If there's no other suggestion, I will switch my vote to Adams and go with it.

I think Adams is a better player than Micah Hyde who projects as a future SS to me, and Adams has alot more athleticism and potential.

FYI, for those considering Tyrann Mathieu from LSU, I was just watching NBCSports show Pro Football Talk hosted by Erik Kuselias. He stated that in an interview last week with Tyrann Mathieu he admitted that he failed at least 10 drug tests and actually didn't know how many drug tests that he's failed.

He also tweeted some incredibly stupid stuff after the Boston Marathon incident yesterday.

Wouldn't touch him. It's hard to justify his talent on the field with all of his faults off of it. Just not worth it. I don't really consider smoking weed to be a serious crime, but 10 failed drug tests is a sign that he just doesn't care. Not exactly a guy you want to give millions of dollars to.

I don't tweet so I hadn't heard about this, thanks for the info.. I agree at least 10 failed drug tests screams that this guy just doesn't care. I wouldn't give him any money, just not interested. I'm sure the Bengals will go after him though.

Big fan of this draft. I don't know a ton about the chargers needs but from a pure talent level standpoint, you did awfully well.

If be said that I doubt he gets drafted at all.

Yea, he sounds a bit detached from reality. Makes you wonder how much time he sits at home and just smokes weed and plays games. Little concept of reality. The U.S. is the least wicked and cruel place you could probably live in the world.

Six teams down, four to go. Mathieu will be in the desert Friday visiting the Arizona Cardinals. Monday, he'll meet with the Cincinnati Bengals. Sit-downs with the Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks follow.

This article was written on the 14. So he supposed to be here this week I assume. Might as well cancel that sit down. What an idiot!

Rams Draft is complete.

1. 16. Cordarrelle Patterson WR Tennessee
1. 22. Sheldon Richardson DT Missouri
2. 46. Eddie Lacy RB Alabama
3. 78. Eric Reid FS LSU
4. 113. Zaviar Gooden OLB Missouri
5. 149. J.J. Wilcox SS Georgia Southern
6. 184. Nickell Robey Nickle CB USC
7. 222. Ace Sanders WR/KR/PR South Carolina

Great Draft.

If the Rams do this well in the draft they should be a powerhouse for yrs.

That's a serious haul. Lots of talent here and at least 3-4 starters.

You really want to protect your investment at QB, don't you? :bravo:

Pedophile, LOL!

Yep

Any team that has 3 ten yr starters on the OL + Massie and Brown will be good for yrs to come. If you play in the NFC West you better have a good OL. If you cant fix all of a team in one yr. You fix you OL, especially if they were as bad as the Cards OL was last yr.

What makes me really happy with this draft is I got really Good/Great players at positions of need.

With a draft like this the NFC West should be the best division in football for yrs.

I belive thats going a little far. Cardinals and Rams still need better quarterbacks.

The Rams belive Bradford will be a franchise QB, he just needs more weapons. Not saying that I agree with that. But your mock certainly helps in that regard.

Palmer is a huge upgrade for the Cards. He would be a placeholder for my #1 QB. (Bray) With the OL fixed, atleast whoever is the QB of the future will have a chance to be successful.

Should we start discussing the Steelers pick for Earl?

Steelers' picks so far: 2 DTs, DE, OLB, FB, RB, WR

With just one pick left, the Steelers have to choose among these positions:
S, ILB, CB, OG, QB

The remaining safeties from the big schools with good productions are:

Brandan Bishop (N.C.St.) who formed a solid duo with Earl Wolff.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2q8NI3C2ek
He had 12 career Ints as compared to 6 for Wolff.
He also recorded 20career PBUs

Rahard Hall, Clemson
14 carreer INts, 8 PBUs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kgfv7Ee44ok&playnext=1&list=PL768FA6980B4F5D0B&feature=results_main
Clemson has been churning out NFL DBs lately.

John Boyett, Oregon
10 career INts, 20 PBUs
If you watched Oregon in 2011; you know this guy was the heart of the secondary, not Eddie Pleasant.

Spreadsheet is up to date. Just an FYI, we have picked 31 more offensive players than defensive. There have been zero kickers taken so far.

Total 221
Offense 126
Defense 95

WR is the most picked position so far at 28, followed by CB at 24, OLB 22 and Safety 22.

Guys that I like are

RB, D.J. Harper

LB's Jake Knott, Tom Wort

S. Ray Polk, Bradley McDougald, John Boyett

Harper or Boyett are my favorites.

Another weapon for Eli Manning. Fast guy but not spindly, with decent height for a projected slot receiver. Definitely fell, he should go 5th round or so in the real draft. Great value here.
