2013 NFL Draft: Houston Texans spotlight

I'm not sold on Kyle Long. I think he'd be considered a mid/late rounder if his father wasn't Howie.

Like the balance of those picks.

Kyle Long, OG/OT, Oregon
Jamie Collins, OLB, Southern Miss
Nico Johnson, ILB, Alabama
Phillip Thomas, FS, Fresno

I like Hopkins the best out of the WRs. He has the quick-twitch speed, the hands, and I like his vision and route running.

My order of preference:

1.) DeAndre Hopkins--Reminds me of Larry Fitzgerald.

2.) Tavon Austin--Fast, but a bit Reggie Bush'ish for me, though.

3A.) Keenan Allen--Taller than the others, slower in terms of his breaks.

3B.) Cordarrelle Patterson--I can't put my finger on it, but I just don't care for the guy as an NFL WR. They used him in a lot of shovel passes and crap.
 
When the clock start on pick #27, I just want them to take the best guy on the board at that time, regardless of position. We still have plenty of holes to fill, and much needed depth, so don't reach. Be smart, go BPA, then fill need later.
 
Seems Texans remain off the radar from a national perspective so any love they get should be highlighted. I get so sick & tired of the same teams hogging the limelight, even if they suck, like the Jets, so props to Rick Smith in this years draft he's been earning solid grades, may that trend continue. :swatter:

Kyle Long is a capable swing tackle, who is versatile enough to find a home inside to replace Wade Smith when he retires or is a cap casualty, regardless what his Dad or Brother has accomplished.
 
These are all players I believe have a possibility of being there at 27. Richardson will probably be gone but you never know. Jones is predicted to fall because his slow 40 time. Elam has height issues but plays like a stud.
