2009 schedule?

Andrew6

All Pro
I know that we will be playing the AFC east next year which is Buffalo, miami, jets, and New England.

and we will be playing the NFC west which is the seahawks, rams, cardinals, and 49ers, what I am not sure of is which games will be home games and which will be away games.

looking at the 2006 schedule it looks like;
Buffalo will be away
New england home
Jets home
Miami away

Looking at the 2005 schedule
Seattle at home
rams away
arizonia away
49ers home

not sure if his is correct
but we should have a fairly decent schedule but I was looking at what away games would be worth checking out.
Buffalo looks like might be fun, not sure about the miami game.
arizona might be decent i guess.

I was thinking about it this morning, I worked out we'd be playing the NFC West but couldn't remember the AFC division.
Cant believe that it will be the East as it doesn't seem that long ago we got spanked in New England and let Lee Evans loose at reliant.
I think your right about the home games for the AFC East teams..

Don't forget that we will play either Cleveland or Cincinatti, and either Oakland or Kansas City, as well.

I feel pretty confident that the Texans will finish ahead of Jacksonville this year so that means the Texans will play the Third place teams of the AFC North and AFC West. I'm equally confident that the Browns will finish ahead of the Bengals.

The only question I have is will the Chiefs pass the Raiders. I think they will. Although they are 2-10 right now, they lost many close games this year and they should be competitive in their remaining schedule. For instance, the Chiefs opponent this weekend is Denver. They beat Denver earlier this year 33-19, so I'd have to say they have a chance, even though this one is on the road. Next they have the Chargers, a team they lost to 20-19 earlier this year in San Diego. Then they host the Dolphins, and finally the finish on the road with the lowly Bengals. While I don't see the Chiefs winning all 4 of their remaining games, I wouldn't be surprised to see them win 2 games.

Meanwhile, I doubt the 3-10 Raiders will win another game with the Patriots followed by the Texans scheduled to play in Oakland, and finally finishing up in Tampa Bay.

Wow, I think that has to be one of the easiest schedules I've seen the Texans have in awhile! :jam:

If those teams we're playing play like they have played in recent years then yeah it should be a decent schedule. But, some of these teams can pull a miami next year. I don't forsee any of the afc teams being " easy " wins. Patriots will have Tom Brady back, Jets have gotten alot of wind back in their sails, Miami has doubled their win ratio already, and Buffalo has shown flashes that they are a good team.
in the NFC I don't see why would lose a game but hell it is possible. It'll be an exciting schedule to say the least with only a few games that I would consider "tough".

Yeah, you never know in the NFL. Maybe we can be the team to make the move next year. :texflag:

Me too, I was a big time Niners fan as a kid. They were my NFC team, and plus Cowgirls fans hated them so I loved em'. :heh:

Same here James! I've always had a competitive streak and all three of my brothers hated the NINERS, so I had no choice but to pull for them. lol Thus was born my passion for my fav team in the NFC. At one time in my life I had as much Niner stuff around my house as I did Oiler. The only time I pull against them is when they play my home team. Knowing Cowgirl fans hated them made it that much easier to love them so much. Years back, I went to see a Cowgirl/Niner game in the toilet bowl, wore a Niner jersey, an Oiler jacket, and screamed my butt off for the Niners. Thought I was gonna get thrown out of the place! Fun memories being a Niner fan, back in the day. The past few years, just like our Texans, they have caused a lot of groans. My dream is to see a Texan/Niner SB.

Well, count me stupid if ya want, but, I don't see that as a "gimme" schedule. Could be a pretty tough one the way I see it. Our division is always tough, and always a "on any given Sunday" sort of thing. The Niners, Jets, Bills, Fins, and Cards are teams that are steadly improving and showing lots of promise for next year. The Raiders have some good tools to play with, just need some "fixer" positions. They sure as hell showed us a thing or two a week or so ago. If NE gets Brady back, they just might get a renewed passion and compete again. Seattle and the Bengals are in that "I just don't know" catagory. Can't predict these things a year ahead of time anyway. Who in a million years would have thought the meatballs would be leading the NFL this year?!

I have ONE wish for the New Year, and that is for the meatballs from Possum Holler to lose their first playoff game!!

I just hope we play Buffalo early in the season. The clips I saw of yesterday's game made Green Bay in Dec. look like a walk in the park.

Hummmmmmm! Buffalo in Dec! Definitely something to think about, if it happens!;)

Did you see the highlights from the Bills-Pats game Sunday? 60 mph winds! The bloody goal posts tipped over. It was funny watching the kickers try to make field goals in the wind.

I'll do anything you want. I just won't enjoy it. :pirate:

Then you can stay at home darlin!! I'll find a REAL MAN to go with me!! J/K:doot: Love ya anyway for even thinking about it!!

I thought the Bills/Pats game was awesome!! Reminded me of the Pats/Raider game a few years back when you couldn't tell one player from another. I gotta try one of those games just ONCE before I hang up my football hat. Gotta see what is worst, 120 degree heat or 20 below. My bet is on the 120 degree heat. I can always bundle up, but, I sure as hell can't take it all off!!:)

Y'know... outside of our division and the AFC E, that's one damn-easy schedule...

And Houston has both the Jets & Patriots @ Home. If the teams we play don't get too much better this off-season I could see an 11-5 season next year. :fans:

I hope we get another mnf game next season!!

How about a monday night game against New England @ Reliant?

Just NOT the Bullpen! I hope!:)

i REALLY wanted to taunt Mike and his girlfriend during the Bears game, but never having had a winning season here I felt his pain, and the fact he supports the Texans, I just couldn't bring myself to do it as their playoff hopes got squashed (he did tell kathryn when the Texans make the playoff he would cheer for them over the Bears if the two teams met).

All this not letting opposing fans in the Bull Pen is rediculous. This is a Football Game and it takes 2 teams to have a game. We have this game in a stadium that holds 71000 people. If they can get a ticket they have just as much right as you do to be where they bought the ticket, if you do not like it then buy a ticket in front of them. I think all this gung Ho do not let them in the Bull Pen, Do not let them fly thier flag on thier flag pole where thay want is very untexan. We cater to the opposing fan and I do not care where they sit, where thay put thier flag, if They want to sit near me and You sell your ticket to them then suck it up and watch em have fun. It is a Football Game, Not a War. You want war go to Iraq I want football and it is great that fans want to come to Houston.
I do not want and I will do everything to stop the Texans fans from trying to degrade the friendly honest welcome feeling we extend to each and all fans of any and all colors.
YOU WANT TO BE ONE OF THOSE FANS MOVE TO CLEVELAND, PHILLY, OAKLAND (although Oakland is a great place to go and cleveland is too, havent been to philly yet.)

Easy Hoss...she did add a little :)

Other fans don't bother me unless they are tards like alot of Tight'un..uh VY....fans are.

My daughter and I were just talking about Da Raider game last night.

"I don't want them to win...I just think they are cool looking, Dad."

"Well, I have a feeling I know where some real ones will be hanging out. We'll go check them out..."

"Really???"

As for Bears fans...maybe I shouldn't have been so loudly updating them all on the Giants v Vikings score when the Vikes were winning.

hey roc gma knows me and I just stated the truth.
I got hammered bout the flag issue all day sunday and I had nothing to do with it.

I am part of the greatest tailgate and I do not nor will I see us treating any other team badly.

To be honest Joe, It wasn't a big issue for me, but I can understand why some people might have been offended that the Bears flag was flown on TOP.

If it was THEIR flagpole and the rightful space owner has no problems with it - then neither do I.

I'll forever want to be part of the group that welcomes ALL comers to the game and helps make it a positive experience to remember!

Hammered or ribbed / teased?? There's a difference. I teased about the flag all day long, but it was in good fun. Let's not get thin skinned here.

My Niner wife and I will be there for the San Fran game come Hell or high water. I'm about to start looking for a Niner shirt for her and a Texan shirt for me with enough room under the logo's to say prominently "I'm with stupid ---->."

The game could be 11 months away but we are already looking forward to seeing the Blue Crew and anyone else we can see.

I have NOT EVER, nor will I EVER, treat an opposing teams fan with anything other than respect. I know NOTHING about any damn flag incident, nor do I care if they fly their flags in the parking lot! I am not an i*iot, I know there will always be opposing teams fans in the Bullpen, and I deal with them in a friendly manner. It is NONE OF MY BUSINESS if our DIEHARD TEXAN fans invite or sell their tickets to opposing teams fans. Go for it, it's YOUR ticket to do with as you please. As for me, if I have extra tickets I either GIVE them, or sell them, to TEXAN fans. We've had this argument to many times before, and I don't care what anyone else does with their tickets. Did it set well with me seeing Bearman and his friend on the third row of the Bullpen?? Hell no, but, I left it alone and treated them with fun and respect. I've learned to adjust, simply because my friendship with those of you who do sell, or give, your tickets to opposing teams fans, is more important than continuing this difference in opinion.
