2009 NFL Draft Thread

I don't understand the Rashad Johnson to Arizona selection at all. They still have Adrian Wilson and Antrel Rolle at safety.

Thanks. Since Rashad is gone, I am getting a bit more sleepier. Hope, Brown still be available when we get our turn to draft.

GO TEXANS!!!

Haha. We still have ALOT of quality players on the board. Hang in there!!! We have 2 picks coming up this round!

Value pick.

When a 1st rounder falls into your lap at the tail of the third you don't ask why, just make the pick and things will work out.

No RBs and only 1 Safety after the Texans pick @ 77. Looking good for the 4th round.

Yeah, I get that. But why draft a FS when you already have one of the up and coming FS in the league in Rolle. What's the use of having that kind of talent if they're going to be on the sideline?
Johnson can be used in nickel formations. And we don't know about the contract situations with the starters.

Injuries happen. They got a very good FS/SS starter at a pick most teams are getting marginal backups that will be out of the league in a few years.

Thats why I wasnt too happy about second round pick. I felt that SS and Rbs were of higher priority and since the 2nd round pick there has been a run on RBs and secondary players...

They should not have waited...other teams saw the succes Slaton had and thought Greene and Coffee could be the next SS. Texans were hoping to catch lightning in a bottle twice in the same round.

Not unusual for a ZBS team to think that they can wait, especially if they don't get a guy they are just in love with. Also, teams don't pick players in pure order of positional need.

You all are not going to like this, but I want Duke Robinson if he is still there. Alot of people had him on the fringe of the first round.

because he's the best player available...he won't be on the sideline forever. it's not like Rolle is entrenched as a perennial Pro Bowler at FS, he's a decent player at best, and a good player behind him can only make the team better.

and, of course, we get back to depth, which is critical.

ya beat me to it...
and where is Wilson in his contract? This gives them leverage when it time to redo his deal

Bengals could go RB. Maybe the Jags. I think the Texans still could get Brown or Jennings @112 or maybe even 122.

Do you guys think the TEXANS going to address S and RB positions in 4th rd? or may be DT or CB(most good ones are gone already for this position).

GO TEXANS!!!

Jags go WR. I don't see Miami, Dallas, or Carolina taking a RB. I doubt GB does either. If the Texans want one of the remaining RBs they should get their pick of the litter.

Why are the talking heads making excuses for the Jets trading up for both of their players? When other teams do it, they dont get the same treatment.

I think its because they did it for Sanchez who they all have a hard on for.

Jags pick a WR.

4 picks left before we're on board.

Packers and Dolphins might need RB. Cowboys and Panthers doesn't. If Andre Brown get passed up by GB and the Fins then he's ours for the taking.
