2009 Member Mock (Second) Rounds 4-7

At this point, from the aspect of the front 7, I'm surprised that Dannell Ellerbe (ILB), Brandon Williams (DE), Corey Irvin (DE/DT), and Jonathon Casillas (OLB) are still on the board. Those guys are the highest rated front 7 guys on my board.

Woah, in that case Casillas or Williams would be a good fit.

Ellerbe should have been off the board a long time ago.

I have him and Brandon Williams with late 4th round grades.

I grade Casillas as a 5th rounder and Irvin as a 6th rounder.

Sorry guys I have been sicker than a dog the last few days. Cinci takes Quinn Johnson LSU FB

Im got the guy I targeted again. I cant imagine Cinci having a much better draft tahn this one.

Cinci GM 2009 DRAFT
1st Andre Smith OT Alabama
2nd Clint Sintim DE/OLB Virginia
3rd Kraig Urbik OG Wisconsin
4th A.Q. Shipley OC Penn State.
5th Cedric Peerman, RB, Virginia
6th Quinn Johnson, FB, LSU

This team needs alot but I wanted to start with improving the running game and add someone with pass rushing skills. I feel like I drafted at least 4 maybe five starters (bolded) and one player that could push for playing time early on in Peerman.

Dang mussop... Bengals are going to have a pretty stellar OL in a few years once these players all get comfortable. Quinn Johnson was a great pick this late too!

With the 167th selection, the Jaguars select...

Curtis Painter - QB

painter_curtis_240x300.jpg

Nice backup to David Garrard and has the potential to start. Nice leadership qualities and has the height and strength to become a tough QB.

This is such a mess.

The other thread has all the packs through round four. This page has the picks in round six.

Where are the picks from round five? All these need to be in one place.

I don't have mod power to put it in the other thread. Can we get a Mod to put all the picks in the other thread?

Well, the time has long passed. Group pick?

Raiders draft:
B.J. Raji
Kenny Britt
Antoine Caldwell
Michael Hamlin

I think its group pick time! The Raiders need to upgrade there offensive line so I think they go either OT or OG here. As much as I want Greg Isander to be the Texans pick, he would fit well with the Raiders ZBS scheme. I also suggest Rylan Reed, Lydon Murtha, or Sean Sester.

I don't know about Raider's needs but the top of my board looks kinda like this (excluding CB, WR, QB, PK):

Corey Irvin, DE/DT
Jonathon Casillas, OLB/Will
C.J. Spillman, FS
Nic Harris, SS/LB
Anthony Parker, G
Cameron Morrah, TE
Jaimie Thomas, G

I agree on the OT. Murtha's still available?? If so, I choose Murtha for the Raiders.

Simply a value selection here for the Bills.

With the 170th pick in the 2009 NFL draft the Buffalo Bills select:

DT Vance Walker, Georgia Tech

vance_walker_sack_medium.jpg

I'm pretty amazed he lasted this long.

Buffalo Bills draft thus far:

Rd 1: WR Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech
Rd 2: OL Max Unger, Oregon
Rd 3: LB Marcus Freeman, Ohio State
Rd 4: TE Cornelius Ingram, Florida
Rd 5: DE Matt Shaughnessy, Wisconson
Rd 6: DT Vance Walker, Georgia Tech

I thought he would go in the 4th rd.

Munnerlyn would be a great replacement for Petey.

Pick for me guys! About to visit with my dad. Angiogram is done and craneotomy tomorrow. Make a good pick for me please!

Good luck Shaft. Hope everything turns out the best it can for your family.

For the Texans here I would be looking at a receiver like Aaron Kelly or Kenny McKinley. With Kelly you get a big receiver who uses his body well, with McKinley you get a speed guy who could help out in the return game.

How about this pick: Graham Gano. Was a punter his whole career at FSU and was great at it but also kicked FGs his senior year. Won the Lou Groza award and the only kicks he missed last year were a couple of 50+ yarders and an extra point (first kick back from a knee injury).

In the bowl game against Wisconson in December he put 3 punts inside the 3 yard line.

We could replace Turk right away with Gano IMO, and maybe even groom him for FGs later on when Kris Brown leaves. It would be nice to have a guy who could punt and kick, maybe opening up a roster spot, or just providing vesatility.

Now that I think of it, I really like the Graham Gano pick here.

Of course, that is assuming he doesn't get picked before the Texans come up.

This HAS to be Greg Isander, Guard from West Virginia. 325-Lbs quick linemen who played in ZBS scheme. If the Texans DON'T get this guy on a mock or in the real NFL draft someone's gonna get hurt.....jk.....NOT!!! :wild:

He is on my wish list for the Texans if he is still available in the 6th round. The guy is so good though I doubt he last that long. My bet is someone will take him in the late 4th or 5th round.

Shaft......wish you and youre family the best!

My vote for Houston is Gregg Isdaner OG West Virginia

I'm down for Isdander... but before my pick is in can someone refresh my memory on what RBs are available? Texans so far have addressed OLB, FS, DE, NT, and CB. I still say go with the value but hopefully that's at RB/OC/OG.

Shaft75 picked Ringer in the 5th, so RB is not a huge need now.

With the 171st pick of the 2009 Draft the

San Francisco 49ers Select:

Robert Brewster, OL Ball State

With the 173rd pick in the NFL draft the Washington Redskins select Julius Williams DE-LB Connecticut.

Williams is 6'2 255lbs & runs a 4.62 40.

Williams was the Kozlowski (courage) award winner this year at Connecticut. He has untapped potential IMO & is a high character guy. Williams fills a need for a pass rusher & can run well enough fill a need for a SAM LB with size.

I considered Williams & Ashlee Palmer. Williams size & character won out over Palmer's speed because the Redskins need a SAM more than a Will.

The Houston Texans are on the clock.

Shaft has asked us to do a group pick.

My nomination is Abilene Christian WR Johnny Knox.

Wow! I was looking at Isdanger for this pick. Perfect pick guys. Lock it up!

Shft says Isdaner

Then Isdaner it is.

I would have taken Knox but I think Isdaner is a good pick. We need depth on the interior OL. The thought of Breisel or Pitts getting hurt & Studdard having to play, well lets say scares the crap out of me to put it mildly.

Everything went well, tumor is completely gone after a 7 hour surgery. Said the tumor was larger than a golf ball and looks to be benign. I just want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. Everyone spoke and the man upstairs was listening!

Btw- I amglad we got a good guard late in the draft, I think he may have some great long term potential with the zone blocking scheme. He should be an upgrade over studdard.
