2007 Mock Draft V.3

what were the hours that were designated for each pick? If that limits up, then yeah there shouldn't be an objection to moving on

There were on official time limits. I posted give folks time in the dead zone and move on in prime time. Twenty something hours is enough in my book. YTF already posted he isn't goin to be on board untill six...I can accept that. Not checkin in is unacceptable to me. No knock on Reddevil...just need to move on. Not a lot of people on line right now...might stall again anyway.

fine. with the #6 pick- Washington Redskins select DT Amobi Okoye. based on what I & others have seen this week in Mobile, Amobi has leapfrogged Alan Branch as the top interior lineman. concerns about his size aside he is only 19 & will get bigger, his ability to collapse the pocket & get to the QB like Tommy Harris (Texans should have picked him in 04) is unique, instead of opting for a pass rushing end this is the route I'd take :shades:

1. Oakland- JaMarcus Russell QB, LSU
2. Detroit-kiwitexansfan- Joe Thomas OT, Wisonsin
3. Cleveland- Texian- Adrian Peterson RB, Oklahoma
4. Tampa Bay- HonoringEarl34- Calvin Johnson WR, Georia Tech
5. Arizona- mexican_texan- Jamaal Anderson DT Arkansas
6. Washington- (BL) for Reddevil63 - Amobi OKoye DT Louisville
7. Minnesota- DRIFTAWAY - Brady Quinn QB Norte Dame
8. Houston- YoungTexanFan - Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
9. Miami - (TTP for) kastofsna - Tedd Ginn Jr., WR tOSU
10. Atlanta- Bubbajwp

30. Baltimore- rmartin65
31. Chicago

The Houston Texans select Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson.

I was going to go DB, AP, or attempt a trade back, but I didn't get any offers for the pick, so I took BPA. Adams is a pass rushing demon with great size. I had trouble pulling the trigger on D-line again, but it was the best pick I could have made. I still think Adams is a better player than Anderson, and has done nothing to slip on any board.

That is a good pick. I thought you might show up disguised as Casserly.

I thought so too. Mayoch said today he'd moved himself into the first round..at the end of it. He gets below 5.0, might go a lot higher. I might of been wrong on Joe Stayley. He also said the same thing on him. They all can't go into the frist though can they ?

Adams has alway been a first round lock. Top 10 lock, and top 5 possiblity. Anderson is the flavor of the month, and while talented, Adams has been very consistent at a high level and he is a sack master.

Well i did my best. I pmed guys. Saw guys on the list who were looking at other stuff on the boards. Only PM I saw was from drift. I'm on to other stuff now. Night.

okoye over alan branch? i know the skins are hurting for D-Line but Branch seems to be the consensus best DT on the board. if Branch is there at #8 I'd prefer him.

Skins do need interior lineman and they run a 4-3. I agree with the pick. With the 4-3 you want a penetrating pass rushing DT, Okoye. If they were in a 3-4 Branch would be the pick for your clog the middle nose tackle. The Skins need to shore up there line agaisnt the run and get better pressure on the the QB, Okoye will do both.

not a versed draftnik like some, but i think okoye will still end up going after branch. i think the uptick, and deservedly so, is due to okoye playing in the senior bowl branch's status as a junior not allowing him to. all i have read of branch is that he is a disrupting DT like okoye, not a Ted Washington/Sam Adams type. i think things will even out during th combine, various workouts, and the pro-days.

good to hear from you again ds, let me elaborate a little more so you can understand the pick.

your right about Branch being the higher rated interior defensive lineman in the draft presently, if your talking about space eating control the line of scrimmage defensive tackle. But he lacks the athleticism/skilled moves to be a consistent big-play defender, therefore his strength translates = two-gap scheme. now when I say big-plays his stats look like this 25 tackles, six for losses and two sacks. watching him in the Rose Bowl was, well dissapointing he was clearly out played by USC Center Ryan Kalil (who has also impressed at the Senior Bowl) probable 2nd rd. pick. Alan is a massive run stopper who should have a long and solid NFL career but seems to have limited potential becoming a pass rushing threat or disruptive interior lineman. he is also 22 years old even though a Junior & max'ed out he is what you see.

by the time Amobi Okoye is 22 he will have played three years in the NFL, thats like getting an extra contract/player. he did weigh out lighter than expected @ the Senior Bowl (287) but showed cat like quickness & a vareity of skilled pass rushing moves (he possess a spin move similar to Freenys). thought to be another nose guard because of his squat build @ 6-2 the jury is still out as to what position he winds up playing in the NFL. Amobi doubled Branches production with 54 tackles, 14 for losses & 7 sacks. was dominant over Wake in the Orange Bowl, guess you could say he had his coming out party with the whole nation watching & now the Senior Bowl. so that would be just some reasons why his stock is soaring, also if you listen to him you can tell he loves the game and wants to keep improving- never statisfied, I've found that to be an excellent recipe of Champions in general no matter what the craft.

I'm not a Redskin fan but picking for a team (even on 30 minutes notice) I tried to select the bpa that fit their #1 need which is adding youth to the defensive line. Defensive ends Renaldo Wynn is going to be 33 while Phillip Daniels is going to be 34 & DT Cornelius Griffin 31. Amobi could be planted inside next to the skins lone youngster Kedric Golston & redo the others (DE's & DT Griffins) contracts to be more salary cap friendly. the DE position is a deep group in this class I would wait till the 2nd to fill that need, then chances are Washington can return to becoming the stingy defense we all come to expect (hate if your Cowboy fans).

not that I agree with everything this site has to say, but its free http://www.gbnreport.com/seniorbowlreport.htm this is what they had to say about Amobi Okoye- Other than LSU's Dwayne Bowe, no player created a bigger buzz in Mobile than Louisville DT Amobi Okoye. Okoye weighed in at only 287 pounds, well below the expected figure for him in the 312-315 range and also well below the norm for a pro DT these days. Okoye, though, impressed with some very aggressive play as he routinely exploded of the snap, although Okoye did struggle at times to hold the point of attack, especially when double-teamed.

Wow my bad guys Ive been at school all day. I completly forgot.

Atlanta Falcons select FS Reggie Nelson 6'1 195

Tough call as there were a few guys that intrigued me, but I decided to go with my gut on pure player talent. With the good but somewhat aging and high priced LB corps, the Steelers opt to select LB Patrick Willis with the 15th pick.

ok green bay will obviously take marshawn lynch because we all know green is not what he use to be....so 16th pick is marshawn lynch..........

Need a couple of guest picker submitt whys first. Why would you pick who you're picking .

And, going to need a couple of Einstiens to help me with the second round order with the 8-8 clubs.

I say the Jags pick Brandon Meriweather ... who really impressed scouts at the Senior Bowl . The Jags need a Safety for insurance .

Willie Andreson is now begining his thirteenth season. His late seanon injury just might of kept Cincinnati getting their tickts punched to the play offs in '06. Warrior or not, with the eighteenth pick in this mock Cincinnati selects Levi Brown OLT Penn St.

My bad give me a second.

Adam Carriker DE Nebraska

Its been too long, Tennessee takes Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC

That was a great pick. But I need you for the NY Giants. I believe that that is what Utx will do. But I don't know what he will do. Could you pick the Giants after Utx makes his selection Lork ? And thank you for the rapid responce.
