2007 Member Mock Draft - 2.0

Here's a suggestion for a new version of a mock.
Instead of asigning picks, there's a 15 minute time frame between picks. First to make the pick gets the pick. You may only pick once, but if no one picks in the 15 minute window, you may pick. The next time, however, you would have to wait 30 minutes...and an hour after that...and so on.

Mass confusion would ensue.

We had something of that sort last year, but it is way to hard to actually pull off.

Most people have lives outside this MB. Many people have school or jobs or families or a chick they are banging on the side. The 15 minute window would end up being about 5-7 guys racing to have the next pick.

These Mock drafts take time....people arent always at the computer, and also....the draft is a long time away...no need to rush anything really

What if somebody sets up polls. It may be tough or just as time consuming though. Say set one up for who Oakland should pick #1. After X number of minutes/ hours? Set up a poll for who we think Detroit should pick...obviously excluding whoever oakland picked. and so forth..

Then take whatever had the most votes for that pick...and pick him for that team.

Or maybe can you set up a poll where everyone gets one vote and it ends after say 15-20 votes? or 10 votes. Take the highest percentage and thats the pick.

Does this make sense or will that be too hard as well...that way it's kind of more a concesus pick and not some random person saying ooohh let make the browns pick x so we can get y. or haha lets make tenn. or dallas take x because he sucks and i dont like those teams. maybe this way the pick will be more accurate?

With the 31st selection the Chicago Bears select Greg Olsen, TE from Miami.

The Chicago bears need another TE and Greg Olsen is the best in the draft. He is a great value pick at this spot as well.

Timmons was tempting but I couldn't do that over Greg Olsen and fitting a need at TE.

Zach Miller, Arizona State declared for the draft he is the #1 TE coming out of College this year (ranked as the No. 7 "Top NFL Talent" in the Pac-10 by Lindy's) listed @ 6050 260 he is the complete package of skills Chicago is looking for, blocking, sure handed able to create & seperate from the defenders. TE is a great pick for da bears just not the one they would select :)

I was thinking Zach Miller but in my opinion Greg Olsen is the best TE in this draft...and really a great fit for the Bears.

Why would you take Greg Olsen if Zach Miller declared for the draft (Chicago)?

Great pick by the Colts.

IMO Greg Olsen is a better reciever than Zach Miller. The Bears already have Desmond Clark and I think Greg Olsen is the better complement to him. That's just how I see it. I dont think it will go down like this though...I'd bet they both get chosen in the first.

I don't think Greg Olsen is worth a first rd. pick...

I've seen him play on a couple of occasions and I mostly came away feeling unimpressed...

I feel the same way.

I dont think he is near the player that Miller is.

The simple way to remember this is: Olsen > Miller

Olsen would have probally cracked the first round last year IMO. He is a shockey type player who by all scouting accounts has a good chance to excede what he did in the league. Miller reminds me of Heath Miller, which isn't bad, but its just not a K2, Gonzo, Heap, or Shockey.

let's just power through the picks. forget assigning them to people.

With the 1st selection in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select: Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech.

The Detroit Lions are on the clock.

Agreed, if miller is on the board that's the pick. He was the wing man for the OLT all season. I.E. he can block. Olsen is a liablity blocking.
Da bears run the ball. A lot.

I have looked at more than a few websites so far and I havent found one yet that has Olsen higher than Miller.

Olsen has always been overrated and comparing his game to Shockey's is ridiculous.

Some draft websites have Miller ranked as high as the 7th best player in the draft.

I have seen both of them play frequently and I just dont see what you see. I see Miller as the next impact TE in the league, a Jason Witten type.

I see Olsen as a #2 TE on most teams, maybe a starter on a few of the bad teams in the league.

I watched Olsen a few times as well....

I vividly remember the game this year when they played U of H....

He looked slow, and he dropped a couple wide open passes...In last years class of TE's he would have been a spec on the radar, if on the radar at all.....The only thing that is impressive about him is that he goes to Miami....
