12:01 AM tomorrow night.

If you're the GM of the Texans, who are the 1st three players you call tomorrow night and try to get them here.
A) Pick 3 with a new CBA - Meaning we can spend more money, and might (keyword is might) be able to make a splash.
B) Pick 3 withou a new CBA - Meaning we don't have much money to go around so we have to go the cheaper route.

A)-Witherspoon, Hutchinson (hasn't been hurt like Bentley), and Hope.
B) Putzier, M. Anderson (He'll know he will have to take a pay cut), David Givens at 4 mill a year. Hopefully that will fit us in under the 94.5. I'm not sure, I didn't do the math. That's my :twocents:

C-lecharles bentley: stud
WR-antonio bryant: this guy is still 25 and had like 69 rec for 1000 yds with the browns last yr and will not command a big bonus.
OG-toniu fonoti:fell out of fsvour with coaching staff but has skills strenght and a mean streak when he is on.
FS-chris hope: would be great to have a champ with skills as well as youth in the defensive backfield.
OLB-julian peterson: given rescent injury history wont be demanding a big bonus so worth the shot.
OLB-will witherspoon: willl have many teams interested so will be too expensive.
LT-mike williams: after a not so stellar start to his carrer can be had alot cheaper than a player of his size and talent normally command as an UFA,

these are the guys i want in terms of best case scenario. there are too msny plan b's to mention.

One word for you DENIAL

Hutchison is not coming to the Texans even if we could pay him A-Rod type money. He has been transitioned by the Seahawks. The Texans are not going to spend huge money no matter if the CBA gets done or not, sure they will spend more with a new CBA - but so will most teams.

A) Sean Mahon, Brandon Short, Matt Schobel, re-sign Gaffney
B) Jon Runyan, David Givens, Matt Schobel, Mike Anderson, Witherspoon

With less money available why would the Texans target 3 players in positions they have people? I realize the team needs an upgrade at the TE and #2 receiver, but $4 million is too much to give someone when they have no DEs, no #2 CB, no true MLB, no FS, and a need on the line.

Just wondering, have there been any free agent sightings around town? It seemed last year that there were a few by this time of the year.

Putzier - Can block, catch, finds good holes against he zone, and makes it to the highlight reel once a week for getting just nailed. Plus, it would be nice to have a guy who was in Kubiak's system. Also, I think then we can put off drafting a TE till next year, and concentrate more picks on suring up the D.

Julian Peterson - I'm telling you...if this guy can stay adequately healthy, then he's an absolute freak. He can blitz, drop back in coverage (zone or man). He can drop into the 3 point stance, rush standing upright, he's solid. He'll be a little slower till his ankle injury is healed, but he'll be cheap because of it.

Antonio Bryant - like someone said earlier, he's still young, fast, and could compliment AJ quite well. I think that with him, AJ, Mathis needs to prove soemthing this offseason, we could have a solid threat at the WR corps.

Witherspoon--Stud who is still young and can fill in at MLB, like he had to this year. He has a motor and passion, something we lack on D. As stated above, he might cost too much.

Bentley--Adjectives are same as above. He works out old school and is a beast.

Putzier--Knows the system, is a productive TE and could save us from using a draft pick on a TE when we could eye another O-lineman or D player. As a backup plan I would talk to Schoebel.

It's who you want. Not who you think you are going to get.

Dude like Witherspoon or Ayodele would be nice at the LB spot, C. Hope at defensive back, and maybe L. Bentley

R. Brock at DE, J. Jurevicious at WR, and J. Putzier

raheem brock and sean mahen have already signed deals with their ball clubs...bentley isn't coming here and neither is hutchinson...so forget about those two...the style of defense we will be running gits greenwood so we only need 1 olb and we need a mlb...de's are a must but whether we pick them up in the draft or in FA is still a question...i would probably pick up 1 in both FA and the draft

If Simeon Rice is there I would get him or Aaron Kampman for DE's They are a need and I don't think the DE class is really strong this yr.

Akin Adoyele at MLB would be nice.

Hope would be a great addition on the team. On so many levels.

Putzier would be a great addition as well.

Plan A: Julian Peterson (OLB), Stephen Neal (G) or Tutan Reyes (G), Jeb Putzier (TE), & resign Gaffney/Orr.

Plan A Draft: 1st) D'Brick/Mario, 2nd) Opposite of round 1: Colledge/Victor Adeyanju.

Plan B: Aaron Kampman (DE), Scott Fujita (OLB) or Brian Williams (CB), Seth McKinney (C), & resign Gaffney/Orr.

Plan B Draft: 1st) D'Brick, 2nd) Opposite of Free Agency: Thomas Howard or Best CB available (Tye Hill, Youboty, Richard Marshall).

  1. LeCharles Bentley
  2. Antwan Randle El
  3. The New York Jets--- if they dont sign Pennington before FA starts, go ahead and start getting that trade worked out so we can get John Abraham and D'Brickashaw Ferguson.

1. Jamie Sharper
2. Matt Stevens
3. James Allen

Casserly was a maroon to let those studs go.

1. Antonio Bryant- cap or no cap I want him, he is a threat, and is young and skilled.

2. Will Witherspoon- Young MLB that makes plays...a Need

3. Kevin Scaffer- Young LT that has played the ZB scheme and succeeded in it.

Dont know what kind of cost involved... Also I would like to add DE help, and draft some as well

One out of each position.
DE - Raheem Brock, Aaron Kampman
FS - Chris Hope, Will Demps
LB - Will Witherspoon, Akin Ayodele and Andra Davis - one of the most underated players in the nfl.
TE - Jeb Putzier, Matt Schobel

I didn't know he was a FA - he'd be a great acqusition.

I like all of the guys you listed, except I think Brock re-signed. I also think we should go after T Kevin Shaffer, C Mike Flanagan or Jeff Mitchell, G Stephen Neal, and DE Trevor Pryce.
