Texans get some love on NLF Live

Interesting! Where can you get the breakdown by quarter? :spy:

    Did you Boo

I did not boo but at times I felt like it. IMHO booing is never appropriate but I can certainly understand why people do so. I felt stupid today, because the team did not put in the effort or show the promise that would justify how I've defended them up until now. Totally disheartening.

    Peter King Picks?

How many picnic baskets does Yogi manage to keep? With all of the coaching and high expectations you'd expect he'd be better by now. Let's start BooBoo!!!

    This is a dumb question

Good thread - thanks for the clarification. I'll watch the secondary more closely on Sunday. Of course, McNabb and Manning both do a good job reading and exploiting D mistakes (especially Manning) - I'm not as concerned about Brunell finding those seams...........

    Nice Mcclain Article

A history lesson! Pastorini was considered all arm, no brain (or heart) those first few years. What I would really like to see is for Carr and the offense to start punishing mediocre teams when they blitz. Unless you have a top-notch secondary, a blitz is a defensive tactic used to cover...

    Where is our Def Coordinator?

Let's see what happens vs. Brunnell - it's hard to pin down McNabb or Manning

    Washington=Houston

Rome was on this topic today - he said that the Al Saunders playbook was 700 pages - either it is in a REALLY BIG FONT or it's too complicated :yikes:

    David Carr is 2nd.

Salient post - note the great run in 2004, before the Capers Crew messed up the offense - let's see what a year under Kubiak does :redtowel:

Why are people hating on Kubes?

It will take however long it takes, regardless of how impatient we get - since we need the players to fit the system we have a lot of mis-matched pieces right now - one of the first players chosen to fit that system just went down for the season (Spencer). :crutch: Enjoy what you can - the...

    Mario Is A Bust!

    true...........

Where are the 8-8 or better posters now?

I have a friend who played LB for Permian in the 70s - when I met him we were playing touch football and someone caught a pass over the middle - the MoJo man leveled the guy - I'd like to see that kind of enthusiasm on the field and in the stands! :woot2

    Mario Is A Bust!

Exactly - I'm a Giants fan, and I remember how everyone thought that amiable, overweight kid from a small Texas school would never make it in Gotham.........patience!

Where are the 8-8 or better posters now?

Hope for the best but expect the worst - and these first two games are hopefully the worst we'll see all season - I'm sticking with 6-10 by going 4-4 the second half, although losing 40% of the OL didn't help - building some MoJo for 2007.

NFL 2006: Can Kubiak bring wins to Houston?

Effort Execution Edge It starts with effort, but undisiplined effort does not lead to execution. An excellent system and outstanding talent are meaningless without executing. but For the Texans to finally become a team that exites the fans for something other than existance, we...

Does Kubiak have something up his sleeve for the season?

2-6 the first half, 4-4 the second half - I'd live with that and be REALLY excited about 2007............

    9/6 Justice article on Carr

This is an intriguing point. Kubiak is probably the only person in Houston who is impartial regarding DC. Kubiak must have studied 4 years worth of film as the basis of his decision to recommend keeping DC. As the new guy he's putting his reputation on the line, trusting that DC can thrive in...

    What cuts interest you?

Sadly, Dayne has been a work in progress his entire pro career - I was a Giants fan growing up, and I was very excited about the Dayne pick back in 2000. You all know how that turned out - the message boards in NY approached the ferver of the Carr discussion here in Houston. I just don't think...

    Texans at Broncos: Impressions

YeeeeeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! The kind of defense that's a joy to watch - I'll take some good hits and disruptive plays over "read and react", don't make mistakes, quiche-eating caution any day!!!!!!!!!!!

    Up in Arms!!!

Ibar I think the responses here prove your point - without arguing your points that people overreacted by placing all blame on Carr for that specific play, or that Carr was told to dump off rather than throw downfield, the responses are all dedicated proposition that Carr is, was, and...
