Top 2009 runningback prospects?

Really enjoyed the NC vs Rutgers game, lots of talent, WR Hakeem Nicks & Brandon Tate (exceptional returner too) OL Rutgers LT Anthony Davis 6-6 330 1st rd. talent, but these exciting players are for another thread & beleive me they'll get plenty of attention.

A little raw but only a So. Greg Little RB North Carolina impressed me with his raw strengh, footwork & instincts between the tackles. Carolina should make some noise this College Football season because Butch Davis has a well balanced attack with a solid defense. Give him one more year to refine his skills & will be ready to enter the NFL draft. I know this is premature but I'm thnking a possible late 2nd to middle 3rd selection.

Little was way over-hyped in the preseason. An average talent on an average team. - USA Today Football

Both in fact look above average to me, at least tonight. He needs to work on his mechanics, ball security & leverage, runs a little tall but thats because he is tall so it will reguire coaching & effort on his part to leverage his body lower much like McFadden as a matter of fact. Just remember he's still got time to develop but I see all the signs of a possible Brandon Jacobs type of power back as he fills out. He squares his shoulders easily, downhill & gives as well takes good hard contact.

Just a mention here for y'all to keep an eye out for as time passes

Rutgers is getting beat up by some exceptional running backs early on in this season.

North Carolina really played well tonight.

Mike Teel is overrated.

man i gotta be honest, i have like zero interest in college ball this year. i dunno why. just losing all my focus. it's probably the Rays that are doing it

Moore, Pegues, Hamlin, or Ellison could probably be had in the 2nd. I'd go DE or RB in the 1st, especially if Moreno or Selvie are there.

but maybe the USF/Kansas game rekindled my interest

Yall came out on fire in the second half and just punched us in the mouth in that 3rd quarter. We have ZERO running game. ZERO. I enjoyed watched Selvie in a weird kind of way. We will likely lose 4 games this year if we couldn't handle South Florida.

given the choice if I would select Selvie over any RB in the country, yet he'll be gone & RB may still be bpa when Texans pick.

What's sad is that BPA may be an OT that is worth a higher slot than where we pick. This is shaping up to be a top heavy OT class with some elite OT's from the onset. Monroe is by almost all reports, better than Fergueson was at UVA (man, can they just produce NFL linemen or what?!) Andre Smith out of 'Bama is going to be a beast, and I've been on that bandwagon since his freshman year. He has been dominant this year. Michael Oher from Ole Miss who I'm not quite as high on, but he is still a top 10 talent.

I'm also pretty interested to see how the Arkansas offense does this year, especially the pocket and the running game. I want to see Luigis (sp) the Arkansas C.

As far a RB, I don't think Javon Ringer has been mentioned. I'm a huge fan of college success because I believe football is a habit sport. Ringer tore it up last year and is doing so this year with a huge target on his back. He is the Michigan State offense. He is a little smaller. I think he compares pretty well to Ray Rice who gained a lot of interest from people as the draft neared. I hyped Rice since his sophomore year. Addmittantly, I wasn't a huge Ringer fan last year, but I'm going to hype him this year. His leg drive and balance is amazing. He hits the hole and doesn't go down on first contact; very hard to be arm tackled. Very tough runner with great lower body strength and speed.

really hoping to catch that game today against the Irish, all those stinking Notre Dame broadcasts & not this one? nice second round pick-up for the Texans if still there, just not sure if he gets a 1st rd. grade?

found a feed on 145 ESPN 2. seems on small side (less than his bio) good acceleration, footwork, yes could be a Westbrook type of back. Javon Ringer is a back to keep an eye on.

really like Little of North Carolina however, they're playing VT right now on 140 ESPN. great size/power for feature Pro back, still only a sophmore, raw but has all the tools you look for. physical downhill runner, blocks, soft hands out of the backfield & he doesn't go down on contact either :aggressive:

Somebody tell me what's wrong with Charles Scott, a junior at LSU. Doesn't have a fumbling problem that's for sure. Has not found the endzone with real regularity but he is a straight ahead runner with power, and good vision. I haven't watched him play that much but he sure looked good against Auburn.
