Heading to a bar to grab a free glass, be back for 2nd half. Having it on at home I can only watch 1 game :( But Tom Brady for nailed and they took him in to look at his leg.
 
All I need to know about this coaching staff is the terrible playcalling after the MW strip. That was straight up Capers-Pendry bullshit in playing safe and trying to make the score respectable and not be shut out. Crap.
 
Ok, less than perfect first half. Now, get ridt ofRichard Smith and get someone else to run the D during the break and we'll be fine :)

Offensively I'm a bit baffeled, we KNOW that the Steelers blitz all the time, but we still seem surprised by it.. I dont get it...?

Remember also - Kyle's a rookie play-caller. Let's see what kind of adjustments he makes in the second half. We were SUPPOSED to lose this game, so whether it's by 1 point or 35, let's learn from this and crush the rest of the season.b

We been pressuring Ben all freakin day and we been getting burn by him too. DeMeco on Hines Ward? Polo you're favorite D cordinator is getting beat like a freakin drum. What a tool.
 
We are lucky only to be down by 18. Offensive line and Schaub just look horrible. Defense has been put in some tough positions with a short field, but I am not sure that we can stop the pass.

I am afraid that this game is out of reach, but this team needs to come out and show something in the second half that we can build on for next week.

I agree. The pressure is there. Big Ben is getting the ball off extremely quick...but we just can't seem to stop the pass.
 
That spot on the first drive was bullshit! We had the 1st down. Where the heck is Schaub throwing the ball? He looks worse than Vince Young out there.:gun: At least I was prepared to lose this game. It was going to be hard going on the road and play a team of the Steelers caliber. So if we can come back and make it a game, that's all I'm asking.

What da hell was Kubiak doing after that turnover??? That was garbage! And speaking of the turnover-What do you know, we finally call an overload blitz and Mario makes a big play. One good play call the entire first half. Attaboy Richard Smith:d: I don't care what anybody says, Richard Smith has got to go. Schaub looks horrible. Hopefully halftime can calm him down. Refs are equally as bad. First the sneak, then a no-call on Holmes pushing off of Fred Bennett. I'm pretty pissed right now:brickwall: I'm tired of getting my hopes up of seeing something different from this team only to see the same ol bs!
 
Why didn't we go out and get Michael "The Burner" Turner, he's got 10 carries 135 yds and 2 scores, if we had him we'd have a running game!
 
Schaub should've had 3 or 4 int. How the hell did he regress that much? It ain't talent, it's mental. He's playing like a freaking 10 year-old mentally challenged wish-a-kid.

I'm sorry for being so emotional, but when you invested all on your times to this damn team, I just can't help it. I almost felt like crying after the 2nd int. I never ever want to go back to the David Carr era, worst.nightmare.ever.

Yes he is. All he needs to do is watch the game to get an idea of what an "aggressive" defense does. Our defense is embarrassing. Our offense is having a terrible time going up against a truly great defense but damn, our own defense looks like they should be playing in Conference USA right now. Yes, Mario and DeMeco are playing their game but that's about it.

I think of Richard Smith the defensive coordinator like I think of Rudy T when he was the Rockets coach. He had a great set of players led by one HOF talent in Olajuwan and people always say that as a coach all Rudy had to do was throw the ball out there and let them play. That's a great oversimplification but there's a seed of truth to it. As a defensive coordinator Smith is in that mold. He's throws his guys out there and tells them to be aggressive (again, an oversimplification, I'm sure he has something that HE thinks is a "plan") but this isn't basketball and he doesn't have a collection of great players. He has a couple of them and many role players. A good or great DC could take this cast and make them respectable but Smith? It's just over his head. He can't make them better. Hell, he can't even put them in a position to not get embarrassed. All he can do is tape pictures of rocks to their lockers and try to motivate them somehow.

Smith is a bum.
