bold are surprises to me

So we are keeping both Chris Brown and Aman Green. I don't care for that, I really don't. Not that any of the backs did much this pre-season.......but still, why are we keeping all these broken down backs?

Brown's future is still dependent upon his injury, he may still be gone.

We still have to cut one more, Chris Brown very well could be that cut. My guess is they want to make sure he's healthy.

Not necessarily one more spot to go and Kubiak specifically mentioned that they are evaluating Browns injury. So it sounds like it is down to him and one other; prior to any waiver wire moves.

Simple we're going to use one as our feature back, and then we'll use the other for scrap parts when our feature back ultimately breaks down & stalls. I can see it now Green running down the sidelines with his brand new set of Chris Brown legs.

...

Maddox has too much experience to be on the practice squad. He will be playing somewhere else this season.

Zgonina didn't get cut??

I still don't understand the Anthony Maddox cut.....in 12 starts for Houston, Maddox had 53 tcks and 4 sacks

In 24 starts Travis Johnson has 78 tcks and only 1 career sack.

Maddox is a good football player....playing on a line that needs good football players. bad move

It sounded like Okam bet out Maddox not TJ. Kubiak was saying that the final cut at DT came down to Okam and Maddox, and the team went with the young guy.

Yeah I know, I liked keeping Okam........I'm saying Maddox should've been kept over other people.

Okam hasn't shown me enough to want to cut maddox over him. Maddox may have some age on him but he doesn't have much wear. He wasn't a starter but had the ability to do so.

NOOOOOOOO!!

It's the perfect storm: Zgoniga, Bruener, Salaam, Ferguson, Studdard, Chris Brown all make the team. And they cut Maddox and say that they went with the young guy... Now that's funny!

p.s. I know Studdard's not old, but damn he sucks!

Okam doesn't have to show you anything. Kubiak and Co. have seen about 1000x plays of Maddok, Okam , and Johnson then us fans; and with the staff's performance over the last few seasons I'm more then willing to trust them on this.

The fact that Maddox might have started for us in the past is more a statement about or lack of talent and depth then it is Maddox's ability.

I like Zgonina's work ethic, and the guy really keeps in shape, but yeah, I thought we shoulda kept Anthony over Jeff.

::: sigh ::: maybe your right, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Now what am I going to do with all my I love Maddox posters :( lol:foottap:

That argument might actually work if Maddox was a bum on the field, but he wasn't......usually he out-played the guy infront of him when he got a chance. That says more about our starters, not the depth we have....had.

Maybe in the eyes of the coaches he didn't outplay those in front of him?

We should all know by now that Kubiak puts the best players out on the field. There's a reason why TJ is still starting for Kubiak in his 3rd season with him. One reason is because we had no one better the last three years. Clearly some people can't see what Kubiak can.

I wish they would post the entire list somewhere.

Remember, Kubiak had Carr starting infront of Sage too. Sometimes it's not about the best players, it's about where they were drafted and how much money they make. He's also going to be starting atleast one broken down back at RB

If Kubiak always put the best players on the field then Maddox would be on this team........not Okam.

But yeah, in Kubiak we trust.....it's his neck on the line, not mine.

I hope cutting Colvin doesn't bite us in the future.

They tried to make him a DE. Didn't work. Too light and not enough quickness off the ball from a 3-pt stance. He seemed to be more at home last night blitzing from a LB position. ....but then that was against 2nd teamers.

I, too, a bit disappointed that Maddox didn't make it. ...but I think they decided Okam has more "upside" while Maddox may have max'ed out.
I'm impressed that Colvin was dumped so Cochran and Bulman could stay.

Regarding Chris Brown, wouldn't they have to reach an injury settlement to cut him? That could be why he's still here.

Maddox is a good player but he was ... in my oinion ... to much like TJ and Okoye size wise .
