Prayer Request

This is not easy to put down since I do not have all the info and I was not there. I was asked to post what information there is and out of respect I am doing so.

G'Ma (SheTexan) :shetexan: was taken to the hospital during the game this evening to be checked out because she was not feeling well. They are going to keep her overnight for observation and to run more test. As soon as more info is available it will be posted.

Edit: There have been reports of her kicking someones butt until they put the game on.

The BlueCrew and BullPen sends there love and support for their GrandMa.

I just got a text message that there is no new news this morning. The report from last night said it was not a heart attack, which is good news. They are suspecting something relating to her blood pressure and the heat.

It was brutally hot during the tailgate time yesterday. We spent the first part on the grass in yellow and then walked over around 5:30 to find the Blue Crew. It was so much worse on the concrete. I know Sandy spent some time in her car trying to stay cool during the tailgate.

Get well Sandy. :shetexan:

G'ma, our prayers are with you. I hope it was just the heat and not anything serious. I know you will be home soon.

I walked in with Sandy before the game and you could tell the heat had taken its toll on her. She looked tired but okay other than that and I hope that the heat was the only problem.

Gma is one tough cookie.:texflag:

We love her and hope she is feeling better today.

Sandy has always been there for me, no matter what, I am getting ready to go to church and will definately put some prayer in for her.
Keep me posted Spec.

I was in contact with SheTexan all afternoon and evening up until half time her last text came in at 7:57 pm and she was in very good spirits. She complained some in the afternoon but BullPenPhoto's had 118 degree's on his themometer in the parking lot. She said they had decent shade and a breeze. We were going back and forth because I was floating in my pool but she didn't complain much and let me tell you I would have known :shetexan: Like Ted said she talked to me right when she entered the stadium and she talked about being comfortable.

In the past the heat can mess with her blood pressure (along with boarding an airlpane lol) causing her heart to race. She was very excited when "her boys" took the field that caused her to tear up so I am sure her emotions where running high. She kept me updated the entire first half and never complained and she went up at half time just to get checked out...GOD help the medical attendant that told her she would have to go to the hospital and miss the rest of the football game :shetexan:

I am in contact with her daughter and this is the latest update as of this morning:

I just got off the phone with mom. The Dr last night told her that she didn't have a heart attack but that they wanted to run more test. They are running a CT, Echo Cardiogram, Stress test, and a few others today. Pretty much a cardiac workup. They are calling in a Cardiologist to check her out. Some of her labs came back abnormal so they are thinking its a pulmonary problem. They also suggested that she might have thrown a clot. Which if she did then we need to all say a prayer that she is still alive.
She is trying not to worry herself to death....the nurse came in so she told me to she would call back later with more info as she got it.
I will keep you posted on everything I hear from her

Her daughters and grandchildren would like to thank everyone for your love, support and prayers for their mother and MAW, MAW!!!

EDIT: they are going to keep her until tomorrow (Monday) to finish up some testing.

Anyone know what hospital Sandy is at? In most hospitals you can send online greetings that get to the patient. She would love that.

St. Lukes Hospital Dante'

I am headed to Omaha for the afternoon I will be back late this afternoon with updates.

I love this type of post. In a world that had 10,000 fans show up for a mere man, Brett Favre, it's always good to see a post for prayer to the only one able to heal She Texan. My prayers are with you and to God be the Glory!

At one time, we had a whole forum devoted to posts and threads such as these.

I just noticed this thread. Anything new on Sandy? If you're reading this Sandy let us know if there is anything we can do for you. If I lived down there I would be loading you up on the water. ;)

I just got off the phone with DiapHer. They are still doing tests and she didn't have any more news. She is still at St. Lukes. Keep praying! :)

Love you grandma!! :) Kara...if you are reading this....call me if you want me to head down there!

Like Kimberly said we really don't have any more news to report except her day has been consumed with testing and she is extremly worn out and tired. We will know more tomorrow once the doctors 'decide" to come in and read over her tests.

Continue to keep her and her family in your thoughts.

Like you said earlier to me Diapher it is Sunday and most likely they will not do anything until the morning.

UP DATE:

I just got off the phone with mom and the dr said she does NOT have clots....thank the good Lord above.
they are going to repeat her labs and some of the test they took when she first arrived (EKG and such) that were abnormal, along with the second part of the stress test and the echocardiogram.
she seems to be doing better with the news that is wasn't a clot. they are going to check her thyroid and suggested she have an EDG when she gets to her regular dr. (cause she refused to have it there).
we will know tomorrow after 5 if she gets to come home or has to stay. its going to depend on the test results.
ill keep ya informed
i had her check her phone and the volume had been turned down so she fixed it

My prayers are extended for a good medical report and that SheTexan will be just fine and ready for the next game.

I saw her before the game began and was planning to walk over and say hi. At that time she was engaged in conversation with several people, then the stadium began to fill up so I decided to wait until after the game. Now I know why I didn't see her.

Thanks Marcie for all the updates and phone calls.

I tried to call Gma several times yesterday but she didn't answer. Either she was gone for tests or the fiesty SheTex had the nurses rip the phone out of the wall... Anyway, if anyone hears anything let me know.

Love ya Gma!!!

Grandma Get well,

I sure hope little Bethany is up there visiting you cause she was really upset for you, You could tell who her Grandma was.

You guys are wonderful friends, keeping everyone posted. She is so loved:heart: and she should know that prayers are flying with the angels in her direction!

I love you GMA, my thoughts are with you!

The hell with Brett Favre :shetexan: would have 30,000 friends showing up for her!!:jogger:

psssst....also since Grma' isn't reading the boards at the moment and I will just so happen to leave this one out when I read them to her :devilpig: . This coming Saturday the 16th is her birthday so get your special birthday greetings in order :whip: I better make two depending on her heart condition :specnatz:

Just got off the phone with Marcie. She was finally able to talk to Gma. No real updates yet, but Marcie will post something later after she talks to Gma again in a little while...

Gma likes her doctors so far, so no one has gotten their a$$es whooped yet. Although, she is hoping to get released soon so she can see her own doctors...

Get well soon, SheTexan!!! I'm rooting and praying for you with all my heart and soul. Take care of yourself!

And I look forward to hanging out with you at your Crew's tailgate and the Bull Pen soon!

Best wishes,

Darrell

They definitely got the picture!!! lol Glad to be home and back stirring the pot a little at TT. Although, I have to admit the fine folks at St. Lukes rank right at the top for the very best medical care I have ever received. They accomplished in two days what would have taken me 10 days any place else. But, I am happy to be released to continue my care with my own Doc's.

To put this all in a nutshell, I don't have anything wrong with me that can't be fixed, with time and patience. Had a little scare that definitely opened my eyes to the fact that I better start taking better care of myself, or I might not be around to see our TEXANS make the big show! I WILL be around for that, I promise!!!

My sincere thanks for all the thoughts, prayers, and Texan fan love that was sent my way over the past couple of days!! THere is NO way I can express my true feelings with this post, they go way to deep. I have been blessed to know some of the finest fans on the face of the earth, and let me tell you, you guys/gals are pretty darn powerful! For those of you who beleive in the power of prayer, I can tell you the Man upstairs was listening. For those of you who don't, but was sending get well wishes, I felt that also. What more can an old gal like me ask for than to have friends like YOU!!
