Ryan Perriloux

Jackass of Day!
I thought I remembered somebody on this board hyping him as the next great thing....well, today..he got kicked off the LSU football team. Supposedly failed a drug test.

I've followed his career from when he was recruited since I've played in a NCAA fantasy football league and had his rights for years....he has always been a head case....doesn't shock me.

LSU fans are scared about his off-field issues. Guess they don't have to be anymore. Good for LSU for kicking a trouble maker off their team.

Even backassword people get it right from time to time (referring to LSU and the Titans :))

Just added a little something for emphasis.

It's about time LSU kicked him off the team for good.

I remember, a long long time ago, colleges didn't let thugs like this continue to play just because they were great athletes.

If the second-string kicker had done some of the crap that Perriloux has done, he would have been gone for good at least a year ago.

Well glad he did the hat switcharoo during national signing day and he's not in Austin.

If he's really interested in a pro-career looks like he'll have to go Juco or Div II. Either way he's got a hill ahead of him.

I don't think that can happen, not since Goodell came in. Only the Bengals would be stupid enough to give him a chance. Maybe the Vikings...

He should just get his foot in the door at Kroger's. He's gonna be working there for a long time anyway.

I'd be surprised if Kroger's doesn't have a drug screening program. It's not easy finding employment that doesn't require drug testing. Welcome to the real world, Mr. Perriloux.

They do mouth swabs on the spot. Ryan could always work at Wal-Mart though. They always need people to collect shopping carts in the parking lot.

LSU coach Les Miles made the announcement Monday, saying Perrilloux violated team rules. Miles said Perrilloux's status for spring practice was unclear. The Tigers open spring workouts on Feb. 29.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune, citing university sources familiar with the situation, reported on its Web site that Perrilloux missed classes, workouts and at least one team meeting.

Assumption is the mother of all foul ups.

I don't see anything about drugs in there. What I see is a young man undisiplined with his time and what is important in his life. My assumption...there hasn't been a father or a father like role model in the guys life. If it wasn't so redundant, it would be sad.

I know I heard Rich Lord and Matt Jackson talking about this yesterday and they both said that Miles, during his press conference or statement or whatever, said it was because of a drug test.

But really, it's not because of a drug test, it's just cause he's Ryan Perriloux, and it couldn't have happened to a bigger asshat.

He still has the talent to make it to the next level... But only a few teams would be interested in him.

Those teams are teams who take no bullshit and their players know it like, I hate to say it, the Pats.

you saw it with Moss so I guess that if they bring in Perriloux and give him a dose of that "Humble Pie" stuff they may be able to cut all this other crap out.

well lets see the guy will have to go to a division II school or lower. and have more disipline than he's ever had in his life. something so far he hasn't done. Then after two years of keeping clean...or disiplined on the books and school work...go through the draft process with this failure on the record. Color me skeptical.

All Moffit did was marry bad and he's clinging on by his finger nails. He could go to Canada and make a go of it. First thing the guy has to have a change of heart. An epiphany. Pig headed is pig headed. I don't care what his numbers are.

You're quote was from when he was suspended in February (and subesequently re-instated). The permanent suspension was this week, and Miles went out of his way not to mention the reason behind it other than not fulfilling his "obligations".

speaking about assumptions, his Father passed away this last year. The dude is just an immature moron...and I hear he is arrogant as hell.

In November of 2006, Perrilloux was accused of using a fake $20 bill to buy gas. From there, his name was mentioned in a federal probe dealing with counterfeit money. He was never charged. In May of 2007, Perrilloux received a summons for using a fake ID to get into a Baton Rouge casino. LSU suspended Perrilloux and did not allow him to work out or participate in team activities. In October of 2007, Perrilloux allegedly is involved in a fight at Varsity night club. He was later cleared of any criminal charges.

LSU's media guide lists his parents as Philip and Barbara Breaux, who those close to the family say raised him together since he started elementary school.

We can't always blame the parents, or lack of, for the way kids turn out.

From what I've been reading Ryan was an exceptional athlete, and those types seem to be given a pass through their early years. Not saying this is the case here, just saying.

Too bad...its possible he could have had a successful career :money: in the pros. Gonna be difficult now.

No but when it is the comon theme and it keeps reoccouring over and over again; every year, it is foolish to ignore it. The only problem here is people saying there is no problem here.

Actually the problem is Ryans, not yours/mine.

So far he has hurt no one but himself. He has not been incarcerated, so society hasn't had to feed him or furnish his medical care.

He is throwing his life away, it will be his loss and no one else's.

I do not want to come across as some kind of liberal. I hate criminals who prey on society, but this is not the case here.

You are right of course. It seems to occur all to often, so what do you propose that will change this. I honestly don't know or have an opinion.

If there is a problem it is society's worship of athletes for no other reason than they can run fast, are usually bigger/stronger than the average person and can catch footballs/hit baseballs/sink basketballs.

For these attributes these athletes, when young, are not held to the same standards of behavior as non-athletes. At least that is what I think.

its official. Perriloux to Jacksonville State.

He probably wishes he went to UT afterall. Now he will have to do a lot to get drafted...

May 4th, 2008

Former LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux has hired an agent after being
dismissed from the team for repeated rules violations and brushes with
the law. While the exact reason for Perrilloux's dismissal has not been
confirmed, his past transgressions have included investigation of
counterfeiting, providing false I.D. to enter a casino, causing a
disturbance at a restaurant and numerous missed classes and workouts.

Contacted by phone, agent Gus Felderman said that interest in his client
has been very strong and that Perrilloux has narrowed his options down
to two offers. "Ryan plans on spending this weekend with his family and
hopefully come to a decision by Monday. While time is definitely an
issue, he needs to weigh the pros and cons of each offer and come to a
sound decision that will be the best for himself and his family. While
Burger King has offered him his preference of 2nd shift so he doesn't
have to get up so early, the free meal plan at McDonalds is something
that you cannot overlook. He loves the cookies."

You may not care what his numbers are but NFL teams will. Jacoby Jones went to Lane College and got drafted in the 3RD ROUND.

And if he stays clean, teams will look at him as a now matured player, who has straightened his ways, learned from his mistakes and Mike Smith will do another E60 presentation on him. And if he throws down a solid combine with great tape to go on top of he could go second day although not a third round guy like JJ, more like a 5 or 6 round guy where we saw guys named Dixon and Brennan go this year (not to mention some overqualified backup named Brady)

Yeah but he lost a TON of $. Had he stayed at LSU and played well, he would have probably been a first day pick, now he is looking at mid to late 2nd day. Thats a tremendous loss of $ in terms of salary, endorsements, recognition, etc. I am not saying his career is over, but he has to keep his nose clean or he might not even get drafted in Roger Goodell's NFL.
