Just want to see what everyone thinks about the LT out of Boston College. He struggled a little after changing from RT to LT during his senior year, but his ceiling could be pretty high. He's 6'7", 314 lbs with long arms and comparable quickness to Chris Williams. Problem is, he isn't techniqually sound but his intanglebles are through the roof. He seemed to have "wowed" a number of teams at the Combine and his Pro Day.

Would you like to see the Texans trade down in the first or early second to pick up this guy? Maybe a sleeper pick for our ZB system?
 
I'm not qualified to give any reasoning behind this, but all of the mock's and draft guru's I've perused have this guy pegged as a RT in the NFL. On the other hand, they said the same thing about Jammal Brown coming out and he looked pretty good for the Saints at LT his rookie year. I do recall seeing a flash on kffl about the Texans showing some interest in him at the combine.

Very true on the guru's designating him as a RT in the NFL. I suppose it would take the right system for him to be considered a LT, and I'm thinking the Texans, with Coach Gibbs, could offer him the opportunity to be THE guy on the offensive line.

Boston College is known for sending quality offensive linemen to the NFL, and Cherilus should be no excepetion. When you break down some of his stats in college during his Senior campaign, you realize that despite the guy "struggling", he certaintly held up the fort pretty well.

5.5 sacks given up on 659 passing plays. Respectable indeed considering that BC's offense revolved around Matt Ryan.
 
I watched him when I watched Giather & when BC played the big games this year......if we're talking the 18.....he's one of those guys who'd I'd be more comfortble with if we waited untill the second round. Whether it's Him Hills or King Dunlap....you're not going to be sure what you have untill '10.
