Spring Practices ----

Specnatz

Hall of Fame
Notre Dame - Starts: March 26. Ends: April 19. Spring game: April 19.

The buzz: With the hiring of Jon Tenuta, expect the defense to learn a variety of new blitzes. Offensively, a huge key is the development of the line, which struggled mightily last season.

Ohio State - Starts: March 24 or 25. Ends: April 19. Spring game: April 19.

The buzz: Erasing the memory of the national title game will be important. The Buckeyes also need to find some true playmakers at wide receiver.

Nebraska (Just for you Diapher) - Starts: March 26. Ends: April 19. Spring game: April 19.

The buzz: New coach Bo Pelini will look to erase the bad memories of the 2007 season. Rebuilding an awful defense is the first step.

Texas A&M - Starts: March 23. Ends: April 19. Spring game: April 19.

The buzz: New coach Mike Sherman will install a more balanced offense. And a new defensive coordinator will look to rebuild a defense that has gone soft.

Univ. of Houston - Starts: March 8. Ends: April 12. Spring game: April 12.
(sorry this is late, did not realize they started so early)
The buzz: New coach Kevin Sumlin, who had been co-offensive coordinator at Oklahoma, will look to keep the Cougars' potent offense humming. Two problems: He needs to find a new tailback and a new go-to receiver.

Univ of Texas - Starts: Feb. 22. Ends: March 29. Spring game: March 29. (oh well no one cares anyway)

The buzz: Spring practice will be interesting for a couple of reasons. First, the Longhorns need to find a feature tailback. Second, two new defensive tackles need to be found. Third, new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp will be installing his system, which should be more aggressive than predecessor Larry MacDuff's.

Texas Christian Univ. - Starts: March 18. Ends: April 12. Spring game: April 12.

The buzz: Coaches need to find a way for the Horned Frogs to become more dangerous offensively. A return to health by TB Aaron Brown would help in that department.

Well let's just see how well Art Briles does bringing that offense to Baylor... It's gonna take a couple/few years to get the right recruits in.

Baylor took our coach (UH), so F them. I hope they lose every single game just because I am a spiteful and hateful. Oh and that is just how I roll.

:user: :aggressive:

No disrespect to anyone who likes them or has gone to Baylor, (my Doctor she went to Baylor).

You know I have allegiances to both A&M and UH. You can't blame Baylor OR Art Briles for leaving. Baylor needs Briles, and they offered him twice what UH was paying. In addition, being at Baylor gets Briles closer to his old stomping grounds. The bright side for UH, is they can now bring in a guy (Sumlin) that has had success at a major level (although not as a HC).

I'm excited about Kevin Sumlin anyway. In the same way I am about Sherman at A&M!!

Oh I was just messing with Wes, but you had to go and get all serious.

He went where they were paying and UH low balled him (That pisses me off more than anything) and none of us would have turned that down. I just hope UH pays him if he is successful and stops letting the good coaches go.
