Very Good Senior Bowl Write-Up (Lance Z)

Leodis McKelvin is the one cb I would be happy about taking #18 (anyone catch the post 3rd day interview on NFL Network?) he has abiltiy to be the lock down corner we need until DROB returns. then we have excellent depth @ cb & Smith call more blitz packages greatly increasing the defensive pressure/aggresiveness.

Williams may be gone before we draft in third (barring trade down)

Dude, he is going in the 1st round. This week is cementing that. He was projected as a 3rd rounder in preseason, but he has played his way into the 1st.

Are you thinking about Chris Johnson the RB?

What round would you pick him ?

Depends on what I want him for. He is a guard right now. He is way to raw to come in and play, and I am not sold on him, there are better guys that have more experience at blocking than he does. He was benched and then moved to RT on his Conference USA team. Scouts are in love with his measurable, and attitude, draft Greco then you get both of those traits and technique.

Heck Zuttah has not given up a sack in 2 years and he can play 4 positions, plus he played in a zone system in college.

Nicks, Benedict, Collins are all ahead of him in my book.

Now if he falls to the 4th or below, then he starts to get interesting, as well do a couple of the guys mentioned above. Zuttah is an off the radar guy right now, his team is getting some play, Sosa, but Zuttah is barely mentioned. The internet gurus like the large Eagle type lineman, well we are not that kind of team. BTW, I like the big Eagle type lineman also, but this coaching staff does not.

Well I said Seplavuda should of went in the sixeth a couple of years ago. And the steelers took him in the forth. Cousins is very raw. He currently has no kick slide. His first movement at the snap is to set his feet wider to form a Sumo wrestler base. Which of course is the very worst thing a football player, especialy an o-lineman, can do.

So why go through all of the trouble of taking him ? He is a mean MFer. He is brutal and he enjoys it. It is not enough for him to get the guy out of the play...he wants to get the guy on the ground and make him run home crying to mama after the play. Just a mean cat who likes to bring the dead critters home and lay them in his plate after he's finished with them. Teach the guy the kick slide....and you will have something special. He should slide because he is so raw. Won't anyone ear hole our QB any more. I would envolk Conrad Dobbler...but no one would know who I was talking bout.

Zuttah fits as well....278 is going to be tough to get around though. He is a very fluid athlete though.

It was interesting what he said about him. Sounds like he is catching many people's eye.

Cousins sounds lke a Gibbs type of guy (tough talented & raw). I like Nicks better but I woud take Cousins in the 4th rd.

Agreed: a huge 310 pound lump of clay looking for someone to set the wheel
spinning.

One of the fastest-rising offensive linemen in the draft is UTEP ORT Oniel Cousins. He struggled as a junior and was even benched at one point. He needs to get stronger, but he is playing out of position and will have the most value on the left side in the pros. He is very naturally athletic, possesses a lot of upside and could ascend into the first day of the draft after scouts get to see him up close at all-star game competition.

We will find out at the combine in the cone drills. Zuttah is prime exmple. He will run well and do the cone drills very well. He can move. He is not lumbering. They got to be able to move their feet and get the angles on guys. I've seen lot of folks souring on Baker, but he fits the scheme...

Steve Jutice the center from Vanderbilt(Wake Forest) fits. That guy can flat out run. And he is deamond, no pun intended, at blocking in space. Someone posted the Large TE that can run recently, I forget his name...take a season to get him up to speed, but he fits. Cousins runs well also. But he doesn't have any technique yet with his pass protection. Tony Hills moves well. The ony exception I could think of is our RG. Our RG has got to be a stout guy to hold up vs the DTs in our divsion. I don't know if Studdard has the feet for the left side. He might be mean enough to play RG. I've been hot for Cody Wallace from A & M, but if he can't stand up against college DL on a bull rush, he's going to have trouble in our division. So will Jutice. 282 pound guy standing up to 325 DT....I dunno. So we're walking a tight rope. Finding guys who can run vs guys who can man up against the DT in the division. The key to two of the four conference champion's seasons was when they drafted a couple of large dancing bears. Mankins for New Englnd (1.32, 2005) and Spitz (3.75, 2006) for Green Bay. That's what we're looking for. Big guys who can move in space. Not massive...but large and cat quick.

the plumb is Clady he was born to be a ZBS left tackle.

After I've seen them move at the combine...I'll post a comprehensive list.

Justice goes to Wake Forest. You knew that though. Probably just mixed him up with Williams.
