I keep telling you guys every year at this time...we ain't taking a WR in the first as long as A.J. is on the roster. And every year you tell me I'm dead wrong. And every year guess what...they don't do it. Like him for the eighteen all you want big guy. Ain't happening.

Yea I think YTF was just saying he likes the player a lot ...but not enough for the Texans to select him with the 18...

Positions we've taken with the first round thus far are:
QB:1 (Carr)
WR:1 (Andre)
CB:1 (Dunta)
DE:2 (Babin, Mario)
DT:2 (TJ, Okoye)

We pretty much only have 1 first round pick every year so..that means only 1 position gets addressed.

Easy there feller. I like the guy and think he has #1 potential, but I don't want to draft him with our pick. I think there is a very good group of WR's this year that is underrated. Bowman will be the best WR out of the Big 12, not Swede. Hardy from Inidana is a legit #1 WR. If Bey from Maryland declares, he is the best WR in the draft talent wise IMO.

Funny thing about Felix Jones is when I was up in Dallas a few weeks ago I was talking to a guy who works for Hummer. He was telling me that he figured Jones was going pro b/c his agent was trying to buy him a new Hummer.

I didn't think you could have an agent while still playing football.

Jones would be a pretty good fit for Houston.
 
I'd be interested in Jones if we traded down for extra picks but i'd rather take Mendenhall/Stewart at 18 if we go RB (one of them should be available there I would think).

I'm still on the draft OL round 1 bandwagon but if the BPA is clearly another position of need (like RB) then I wouldn't be upset with it, especially if we trade down for extra picks and still get a heck of a player.

06 was average as was 07

with all the underclassman coming out the 08 RB position class is above average.

key move for the Texans is to replenish that 2nd rd. pick they traded away for Schaub. I don't care how Rick Smith does it as long as it happens. could trade away players for players or draft picks & use the 18th pick to trade down. clearly this is a deep draft in areas of need for the Texans.

I really want Chris Johnson, RB East Carolina & we can get him in the 2nd rd.

All the little tatar tots coming out now...someone is going to fall into the third. Double R, Kevin Smith, Felix Jones, Jamal Charles, Johnson as long a they don't over pay for one. Assuming here that he'll continue to platoon and Ahmen is not out the door. If they are going to cut ties with him and take the cap hit...
No one is going to want to over pay for a RB. No one. I don't care how good he is.
