Which RB hits the hole the hardest?

IMO the thing we need most is a RB with great vision who can find a hole and HIT IT as soon as he gets the ball. Just make one cut and go, no dancing around and what-not. Which RBs do you think are the best at this in the upcoming draft?

As far as guys we have a shot at im gonna have to go with Mendenhall, that guy has a very nice burst as soon as he gets the ball. I wouldn't be upset if the Texans snagged him in the 1st even though im on the LT bandwagon. But ultimately im on the BPA bandwagon and if Mendenhall is the BPA I say we take our franchise back.
 
Charles, Stewart, and Mendenhall all hit the hole pretty hard and don't dance in the backfield. Ray Rice hits the hole surprisingly hard for a back of his stature.

I really think we should give Ray Rice a look. The only knock on him is his size, and we all know how that worked our for MJD.
 
Jamaal should have come out next year, but he does hit the hole faster than Mendenhall or Stewart. The problem is that he rarely hits the holes on the inside of the line, most of the time he's running outside of the tackles. The first td he scored against ASU, was more to blame on the defense than Jamaal breaking tackles. Personally, I like Stewart over Mendenhall but they are both great runners.
 
I think the #1 thing that you look for in a RB is productivity . If you can find a guy at 220lbs , runs a 4.4 , and averages 1500 yds a season you have a premiere prospect .

How many teams draft a guy who looks like Tarzan , runs like a cheetah , plays like Jane .

Oh yeah ... Mcfadden , Mendenhall , and Stewart seem to have it all .

I'd take Felix Jones , Jamal Charles , and Chris Johnson if the price was right .

They are both listed at 5'9 and between 195 - 205 depending on who you read .

Another back who's in the same mold is Tony Temple . He's been fairly productive and you don't hear him mentioned at all .

What exactly are you smoking because I'd love some of that hallucinogenic magic. ESPN has MJD at 212 and Rice at 205. Look I'm not saying Ray Rice will be like him, but he has similar size but is not quite as strong as MJD. Both are fast as hell and can pound it up the middle. The questions people were asking about MJD are the same questions being asked of Rice. That's the comparison. I'm just saying too many people are quick to reject a back because of his "size".

That's true and some of the best backs in recent history less than 5'11 .

LT - 5'10
Emmitt Smith - 5'9
Barry Sanders - 5'8
Frank Gore - 5'9
Priest Holmes 5'9
Walter Payton - 5'10
 
according to Newtons second law Net force equals mass times acceleration. (note: acceleration means change in speed or direction ∑ F = m a) too complicated for beerlover, but someone smarter than me can figure it out. here are your specifications to formulate who hits the hole hardest, included height (don't see where this factors in the formula) because a more compact body would seem like a higher concentration of force. obviously this cannot measure the mental makeup or size of ones heart for contact although I would have to say this is a negative regarding JS because he likes to take contact more directly to counterpunch a would be tackler than trying to avoid contact which could shorten his career.

I think that vision and making up ones mind plays a huge role in this .

The Titans drafted a guy last year in round 2 . His mame is Chris Henry . He is 5'11 and weighs 230 . He ran a 4.4 forty and lifted 225 lbs 26 times . He really was'nt that good in college .

There are a lot of backs in this draft with speed and they have the yards to show they know how to run .

When looking at RBs that hit the hole hard also take into consideration the OL that the RBs have and if they are blowing up the DL, holding their position, or 2 yards deep when the RB takes the handoff (kind of like ours). RBs that hit the hold hard, but go down after the first chip might not fair as well behind our line. I'm interested in seeing the film of the RBs that get hit in the backfield and make it back to the line, or gets popped at the line and still get 2-4 yards. Any RB with speed and vision can get through a hole if untouched...pay attention to those that take that initial hit or tap on the ankle and can stay on their feet. Look at some of those highlight videos that will pop up, and then watch them again but only only looking at the line, and pay attention to those runs where there is no hole.

Strange. At the end of last season, a lot of people were saying the same thing about our QB situation. We were going to have to deal with another year of Carr because of the extension we had paid him. There was no way we were going to let him go.

There's a lot of time until next season and there's a lot of things that Smithiak might do to surprise all of us.

I watched Chris Johnson (ECU) do this very thing vs. Boise State in their bowl game recently. He would run up the middle, and it looked like he was stopped at the line of scrimmage, but there'd he be...about 3 yards later, falling forward for the tough yards on a busted play.

Remember how DD would twist and lean and strain for an extra yard or two? That's how it looked with Johnson running the ball.

The difference is that Chris Johnson has some serious speed.

I think Darius Walker did enough to make Kubiak happy. Whoever said we won't take a RB is prolly right. But my choice would be Mendenhall and then Chris Johnson if we couldn't get Mendenhall.

I don;t care for Ray Rice, Hart, Stewart, nor Jamaal Charles. I don't think they look like NFL running backs. But that's my 2 cents.
