Compare CB INTs to Dline QB sacks

While posting on another thread, I was giving info to support my view of going after Asante Samuel NE free agent CB in this off season. I know he will be high $ but here is what I came up with. Samuel has avg'd 8 INTs last two season 6 in 2007(2 games to go) & 10 last year. These 16 resulted in 209 yd returned or 13 yd avg. and change of possession.

Mario Williams 13 QB sacks have not lead to 8 turnovers let alone 13yds advancement. He signed a contract for $54m six year deal last season. Mario is on the Love Train with fans and coaches (rightfully so). So why would not a CB like Samuel who causes a change of possession with an INT be worth slightly more to adjust for inflation of two seasons?

A CB can not make a play unless the ball is thrown to his side of the field/Defender.

A DE could possibly make a play on every snap - be it a run to the other side of the field, or even a pass to the other side.

both stats are deceiving for both positions.

pressure in general is far more important for a DE than sacks.

a CB should only get an INT when the QB makes a bad decision. guys like DeAngelo Hall get thrown at them constantly and only get INT's when the QB slightly underthrows or overthrows the ball. Samuel's picks are when the QB can't see him, because otherwise, there's no way they'd throw it to him. that says a lot.
