good lord so what you're saying is that this business is concerned with making money?!?!
I personally thing they could make more money with a playoff system if I new some thing was at stake
what game really matters now? just the BCS championship game is it, all others really don't mean much. there is only one "Real" trophy
well for me, I'll probably watch UT and A&M and that is it.
but some live for College football, I usually try to follow just the teams i like

I'm gonna watch as many games as I can.
It's still great football.

I'm a little surprised by the Ohio State selection. They haven't really beaten anyone this season, and lost to Illinois. Not to mention that they haven't played a game in two weeks.

LOL. Illinois is 9-3 & finished in 3rd place in the Big Ten (had the same record as Michigan but lose head to head).
They are ranked #13 in the country.
I honestly do not like Ohio State, but they deserve to be in the title game, or at least deserve it more than the other teams.
The only selction I dont like is that Missouri beat Illinois & Kansas, but both those teams are going to the BCS and Mizzou is not.
I think it is fine to have Illinois in the Rose Bowl to keep the traditional matchup, but Mizzou should have definitely got the BCS bid over Kansas. Sorry YTF.

Why? We have only 1 loss. It wasn't a bad loss at that, and it was on neutral ground. Mizzu has 2 losses, granted to the best team in the nation, but 2 losses is 2 losses. Mizzu had a very poor showing last weekend as well. They in no way deserved to be there over KU. Also, how the heck does KU drop 3 spots when they don't play, and the top 2 teams lose? We should be, by that simple math, be at the least #3 in the nation.

The Neutron Man is also known for a photograph taken of himself and two young companions after a demoralizing defeat of (then) number 1 Ohio State to unranked Michigan State on November 7, 1998.
I think it's funny reading about how this is going to be a "home" game for LSU. Apparently the national media has NO idea how well OSU travels.
In Austin for the UT/OSU game last year, there were as many Buckeyes as Longhorns on 6th street all weekend.
I don't expect a home game for LSU by any means. I guess we'll see in 2008.
~72,000 capacity = 50,000 LSU fans and 22,000 OSU fans
Looks like it is time for OSU's yearly dose of SEC speed.
I go 50/50. Not sure why anyone would think less. Because of ticket allocation and the amount of OSU alumns to take care of scalped tickets, 50/50. Remmeber, we're annually one of the largest 4 universities in the nation.
Though the Superdome is near baton Rouge, this is actually a "home" game where LSU started with 85% of the ticket allocation. And I really think just as many LSU fans will scalp their tickets as do Buckeyes.
As for in New Orleans generally, I'm going to go 65/35 Tigers. I know a TON of Buckeyes making the trip who don't have tickets. Coming from Columbus, Colorado, California, Texas....
I know the student population is a lot less than OSU's (~50k to ~30k), but I really think you are underestimating LSU's popularity in and around these parts.
So why, because of LSU's proximity to New Orleans, do you argue there will be more LSU fans inside the stadium? (I'm honestly asking for your opinions and not being a smartass).
big congrats to your Jayhawks, YTF.
Kansas @ USF will be a monster. i plan on attending that one.
yeah that'd be great in our 1 bedroom apt with me, the girlfriend and the baby.
To answer the above debate -
The Buckeyes owned Bourbon Street the entire weekend. I'd say about 1.5 to 1 or 2 to 1 Buckeyes. LSU fans were impressed how well we travel. A LOT of LSU fans just drove in for game day.
The crowd was 70/30 LSU in the game - because Saints season ticket holders were given the option to buy tickets. And well, I think we know which team Saints fans would support!
I'll post more about my trip later.
Too bad they were unable to translate that ownage onto the football field.![]()
Hey man, nothing wrong with good spirited fun. However, as I saw several LSU fans learn the hard way, we can tolerate having "tiger bait" yelled in our ears (literally, people would get a foot from your ear and start yelling - it did get annoying after a few days) all weekend, but doing it after we lost the game was NOT a wise idea.
We avoided Bourbon Street Monday night - I can only imagine how many fights there were. Instead we went to the player's hotel and wallowed.
If it's still too early for some ribbing,
