Defeated the Irish after 43 losses. How sweet it is!! The class of 2008 will go down as the greatest class to ever play football at Navy 7-0 against Army and Airforce(will be 8-0 by the end of the season) and We broke that effing curse!!!
 
It was a really good game.

ND must have cheated to keep it that close. I didnt think they could score that much in a whole season.

I'm hoping that was sarcasm. :) You'd think a good Catholic like me would grow up liking them but I never could and even though I wasn't living here I was pretty peeved to see Montana beat UH in the Cotton Bowl. Just happy to see them fail.
 
I'm ashamed to be a Notre Dame fan. I can't believe we are watching the worst ND team in history this year. Yeah, i figured it was gonna be a bad year. This bad however, i didn't expect. I can only hope that they can get their recruits coming in this year and their past 2 recruiting class to actually live up to potential for once.

Well Cougar high had their one shot at respectiblty and they lost it to Montana
In the chicken soup game. Lot of folks getting some pay back this season. All about the pay back. Has nothing to do with being a bigot. Someone stops a 43 game streak you reach out your hand and say congrates. I've always held when you get an arrogant dog down on the ground you kick it some more. There's still plenty of oportunity for some other folks to get their stomps in too. Nebraska got it today also. ND is still way ahead of the account even after this seson is done in my book. Most squirelly aggragate collection of suck out artist in college football. They can't be stomped enough, embrassed enough to suit me.

Ashamed to be a Notre Dame fan? WTF? Seriously? I am a UofH gradwho loved the Irish before I was ever in Texas. So I cheer for both U of H and the Irish.

My first love is the Univ of Notre Dame and I will take what ever smack butt whipping I have coming to me this year, just as I have done when my Astros are down and my Texans are down.

BUT I will NEVER EVER be ASHAMED of being loyal to what I grew to love and live and die with on a Saturday or Sunday or during the dog days of summer.

I know there are a lot of Anti - Notre Dame people in Texas and I understand why and exept that, as long as it is done with class. Frog is a class guy and he does not like Notre Dame and I will take what ever he dishes out for this loss (should have kicked the damn field goal or at least tried it before OT). Texans_Bill will give me a lot of crap so will a few others i respect and I will take it like a grown man.......

But right now Notre Dame has the #1 recruiting class in the nation, this week we landed the #11 WR and the #3 RB in the nation according to Rivals, this is after the big loss to USC. OK so ND has a really bad year, USC has had several until the poodle.

I take my lumps, with ND being on tv you have to take it because they are like the yankees either you love them or you hate them. I will always be an Irish Texan, period!!

This season is just upsetting me, but I still make it a point to watch every game I can from start till finish... The one thing thats bugging the hell out of me is Weis going for it on just about every 4th down. Its rediculous. Yes, I know that he's an aggressive coach but they should have at least attempted the field goal in regulation. Not saying that he should be fired like a lot of other people are, but he could sure change his style a little bit.

As for the recruiting classes, I'm pretty sure the last 2 years they've had top 15 recruiting classes but none of the players have done much. I know it takes a bit for the underclassmen to get adjusted to the game and start, but at this point a lot of them have to be better options then what are in there right now.

Recruiting means nothing if you can't even retain the players that you recruit. It makes me wonder why 4 players have transferred this year. Jones I understand, but why would Reuland up and leave? There's gotta be something going on within the team also.

They looked a lot better this game then they have this season. Yes, it was against Navy but there are signs of improvement and I'll take it. I'm looking forward to next year, where hopefully they can ahve taken this season and put it behind them.

And yes, I may have used the wrong words to describe it, I'm not ashamed, just tired of watching this week after week this season.

All the guys who have left were recruitted by the semi-golf pro Willingham and Rueland left because he was pst up on the depth chart. Gone are the days of stock piling kids. The limit of schollies has changed all that.

Well I figured that he would be one of the top back ups at tight end this year and fight for the starting spot next year. Apparently not, but with the looks of what they have coming in at tight end it really will make no difference.

By the way, I think Scout.com is a lot better then Rivals, unless you are a subscriber to the actual info on there, because you can get a lot more for free on scout, plus they have most Notre Dame recruits rated higher :)

Sorry to disappoint, Spec.... But Notre Dame is so bad, that they're not even fun to pick on anymore... :whip:
 
what happened to that super phenom ultra highly-trained already a professional kid qb they had at the beginning of the season?

Like most true freshman QBs, the game moved to fast for him. Oh and the oline sucks worse than any I have ever seen. False starts galore and then some. Poor protection to some dgree compiled with just the lack of being comfortable in the system. Not the first true freshman QB to struggle who was recruited by every major college in the country and will not be the last.

Now if he struggles next year then I will say something different but not during his freshman year.
