First...thank you so much for all your prayers, good wishes and phone calls! It meant the world to me!

Dad is doing awesome. He went back to the cardiologist and surgeon yesterday. They removed the stitches and staples!!! He will have to have surgery to repair the abdominal dissection but for now, things are great. It is a hereditary condition so I am going to see a doctor pretty soon! :)

Dad and mom are heading up to New Braunfels today!! Life is good!!

I miss all of my tailgating buddies but I am sure y'all understand that family comes first! I am there in spirit and thinking of you guys!!!

Lots of love,
Kimberly

You might need to take Mom out for a girls night out only so she can recharge the battery.

It is good to know that he is doing great and that they are coming up to visit you. Take care and you all have my best wishes and my prayers.

Glad to hear Kimberly!!

With having a father that's had three heart attacks/related issues, I know how hard it is, and how wonderful it is to hear great news!!

Thanks Kimberly. Just getting ready to e-mail you about your Dad. So glad everything is going in the right direction. YOU take care, and keep in touch. We miss you!!

Kimberly,

This is exactly what happened to my Dad last January. His dissection was at the Aorta above the heart. We are both fortunate that they received excellent medical attention at the hospital when they arrived (I assumed he went to the ER). My understanding is it is very difficult to diagnose and one usually has only 24 - 36 hours before it's fatal.

Regarding your health, my understanding is the best way to decrease your risk of this occuring is making sure your blood pressure stays in a safe zone. I don't think they understand all the factors that cause this to happen. But certainly, high blood pressure is the trigger for it.

Sorry I haven't offered my support yet Kimberly but you got it, and I'm glad that everything is going good for your dad. I went through scares with my parents at the same time this past year and it was definately one of my most worrisome times in my life. I don't know your dad, but I know you and you are a great person. I'm sure that has rubbed off from your parents. Dang, one of these days I'm gonna have to make time to get my butt back to Reliant and see everyone. Take care, and keep us updated.
