Anyone been to the Mirage in Vegas?

I will be there for a week on business. I will be there over this coming weekend and was wondering if the Mirage has a bar that carries the NFL Sunday Ticket so I can see the game this week. I saw on their site that they have a sports bar but it didn't mention more than that.
 
I've never been there but I think its a given that the casinos in Vegas will carry every single NFL game (if not every single sporting event going on).

Thats is not true. I had a friend that stayed in vegas a couple of weeks ago and stayed at New York hotel or some crap like that but he said that they only carried the local game.

Hookem I am not total for sure but I think he did say that he went to down to the Mirage to catch the games. I will confirm with him in the morning!

That's the only place you can go to and bet on the NFL legally I think....you can't do that in Tunica or in Louisiana I don't think....you ought to check it out...it's fun on Sundays in Vegas during football season.

I lived out there for three years before coming back to Houston and I was a frequent attendee of the Mirage Hotel. Not because of their casino. Not because of their shows. Not because of their White Tigers exhibit. And most certainly not because of their bar, I loved to go to the Mirage to watch my football games. Their race and sports book room is virtually THE place to be. 10,000 SQ feet of TVs. I don't mean the room itself is 10,000 SQ feet. I mean their TVs total 10,000 SQ feet alone. JUST TV'S!!!!! It's an awesome sight to see. Best sportsbook room in Las Vegas hands down. I can't say for sure that they carry Sunday Ticket but I'd stack the odds in your favor if you just go to the sportsbook room.
 
Hookem you can go to any sportsbook and catch the game and probably bet if is a run or pass. Hardrock should carry it also. Just ask the concierge to hook you up if you cannot find it in house.
 
I am almost positive that you should be able to catch the games in the race and sports book room. If, not there are a number of nice casinos that are within walking distance although I doubt if you would need to. I love Mirage's Poker Room, and if you haven't seen it already try to include Cirque du Soleil "Love" at the Mirage.
 
I wanted to see Cirque du Soleil when I was there back in June but the tickets are pretty steep. Maybe if I'd had a date there I would have taken it out of my blackjack budget...but that wasn't the case. Although considering how poorly I gambled, I might as well have gone.

Speaking of gambling...

Casinos give back an average of 97 cents per dollar gambled on the Strip (Las Vegas Blvd)

Casinos give back an average of 98 cents per dollar gambled at the Fremont street casinos (downtown where the light show is)

LOCAL casinos give back an average of 99 cents per dollar gambled. Stick to the local casinos. Sam's Town. All the station casinos. Arizona Charlie's (my favorite). Bars. Gas stations. And so on and on.

In essence, go where the locals go to gamble. Not the touristy places. Us locals know the best places to gamble since they live there and those casinos are geared for them as well.

If you don't understand what I mean by giving back, say so here and I'll explain it better.

I tried some of those local places and didn't win anything. Some were dismal, depressing, and still took my money. I did ok at the Horseshoe or Binions or whatever they call themselves now in the poker room, but the only place I won on slots was the Golden Nugget.

All casinos are dismal and depressing but there's definitely less flash and glamour at the local places.

One other thing, 99 cents on the dollar still means that they're going to take all of your money. It's just going to take them a little longer. That's all that means. Doesn't mean more jackpots than the touristy places.

Also, I've always done HORRIBLE at the Golden Nugget. It really is all about luck. I just cannot lose at Arizona Charlie's. Just because I win there doesn't mean you're going to. Fact is that local casinos pay out more per dollar.

I was going to check out Cirque du Soleil, but I forgot my mushrooms.....
 
What Hookem in Vegas? I cant believe it! That means your not watching the game at your house? I didnt even think you were still in Austin!

If you like the Beatles (even just a little,) then the Cirque du Soleil show is a must-see. Might be the best event that I've ever spent entertainment dollars on.
 
I was at the Mirage for a few days in August. As far as Sunday ticket, call the hotel and ask.

And as mentioned earlier, go see LOVE. I've seen it twice and will see it again in January.
 
We've (the wife & I) have been to Vegas each of the last 3 Januarys during the NFL Playoffs and stayed at The Mirage once and Harrahs (right across the street from the Mirage on "The Strip") the other 2 times. And you can most definitely place bets in Harrahs on sporting events (including NFL games), just as you can at "The Mirage". I suspect you can wager on sporting events at most of the big hotels as they all already have casinos.
The Mirage is right in the heart of The Strip and a really fun place with a great area to watch NFL games and other sporting events, super restaurants, and live entertainment that lasts, as you'd expect, into the wee hours of the night/morning. You're in for a treat so enjoy yourself !
 
It's been a while since I've been out there (note to self: get back out to Vegas), but yes the Mirage has a good one, you can also take the shuttle from inside the Mirage over to Treasure Island, that's where I watched the Final Four and Final a couple years ago, just becuase we were staying there...but for some reason, I placed my bet for the games down at MGM (not sure if that's becuase I was there right before the game started, better odds, or what the reason). Across from the Mirage and Ceasars is a dive casino called O'Sheas, and for some reason, my friends and I always do well there on slots, blackjack and craps...the main reason I went in there the first time was becuase they have low minimum bets $1-$5. They also have some of the Vegas Vacation type games there (or at least they did) like War, High/Low, and other non typical gambling type games.
 
Thanks for all the input. Our event is being hosted at the Mirage and it sounds like we ended up in one of the best places. I just want to see the game and it sounds like the Mirage has the best sports bar. I would be surprised if they don't have the Ticket. Honestly, I don't gamble (that is why I never cared to go to Las Vegas), however I hear there are a lot of other fun things to do there.

unless you bust into a hotel room with guns to steal sports memorbilia.
