Visiting Fans In The Bullpen

Yankee_In_TX

Dance Lindsay!
Dear front office,

It's bad enough that you allow a partial owner retain two front row Bullpen seats - because people show up in the 3rd and are usually gone by the 4th.

But please, we ask that they not send down VOCAL fans from the visiting team. I'm usually an even keeled person, but I was very frustrated with his very vocal celebrations in OUR HOUSE, in the FRONT ROW OF THE BULLPEN.

I imagine the worst I'll ever do is yell for them to go back to their suites. Other people may not hold their temper in check the way I did Sunday, especially when beer is involved. My $.02.

Thanks,
Me and hopefully the rest of 116.

Yankee,

You're from the North, right? I'm sure you played a little hockey. How about a little hip check, sending them over the wall???

*Disclaimer* The producers of Jackass request that you do NOT try this. The stunts were performed and or supervised by professionals. Besides, you will get your butts locked up..

The guy that sits next to me has not been to a game since preseason game 1, he sells his tickets on e-bay and for both the Dallas game and the KC game we sat next to fans from the other team.

This is bs, if you sell your tickets than put them up on here for a fellow Texan fan or sell them to someone next to you.

As far as the Bullpen and the other sections around it, the front office needs to get those tickets from the brokers ASAP.

Yankee...my wife won front row tickets in 115 at yesterdays tailgate from Sports Radio 610. She was there the entire game...from kickoff to the bitter end with my father.

Her only complaint was the sewage odor coming from the phantom pharter!!! She said it was very, very bad... :)

That Colts fan was annoying, I'd have to agree with you.

All it takes is a letter to the ticket office and the seat location.

As a Texan fan that loves to travel to away games, I have a very different perpsective.

I am always respectful and not over doing my welcome. But, still cheer for the Texans.

Going to the Chargers and Raiders this year in California. Great seats on the Texans bench side for both games. I am going to both games with full gear. We'll see if I get out alive at Oakland since I am flying solo on that trip.

I will be at the Miami game and trust me you will recognize me. You'll know the Hollywood Texan when you see me.

LOL! The phantom pharter. Yes, this must be due to the beer swallering at 7 am till kickoff. I, regrettably, experienced these meaty, nasty, hovering, yellow clouds of sewage......even worse than the port o john's at 11:45

Get the section number and seat number and call the Texans Ticket office at Reliant. This person re-selling tickets in the Bull Pen to opposing fans is flat out WRONG. All they are doing is scalping the things for profit. Total BS!

Did you see that ***** last nite at the SUperdome in the vince young #10 jersey when Reggie lept into the stands? Now didn't that look BAD!
We don't need that in OUR HOUSE.
If visitor fan wants to come see a game, they are welcome to come sit up with us in GRIDIRON, TX.
We'll give them the business!

Been there, done that, since the very beginning and when the Bullpen committee was active. EVERY year complaints are made to the TEXANS front office, and every year nothing is done. Until they start taking PSLs away from people who sell them on E-BAY, get use to opposing teams fans in the Bullpen. I am surrounded by corp owned and ticket master seats in section 116 also.

Remember that story a few years back where that dude, I think it was the Pats, sold his tickets for profit on e-bay and the organization took his PSLs away from him? He had been a season ticket holder for over 20 years, had never missed a home game, and was a proclaimed diehard. He had to miss a game because of an overseas trip or something like that, so he sold his tickets on e-bay. Last I remember reading about it, he was suing to get his seats back.

Good points, but actually futile, IMO.

The nature of corporate NFL and PSLs, which are legal contracts, will prevent the Texans FO from doing anything. As long as the PSL holder renews their seats every year, there is nothing the Texans can do about it.

I completely agree. I'm mostly whining because (so the urban legen goes) these seats are owned by a partial owner of the Texans.

In general, however, I believe they do reserve the right to revoke PSL tickets sold for profit (I haven't read the contract in years). They should use this to nail the brokers - i.e. one "person" with 10, 15, 20+ tickets for sale on StubHub (etc.).

Instead of chastising Phantom Pharter, maybe y'all should embrace him.

If people quit buying seats from the ticket outlet places because of farter guy, maybe the companies will let their tickets go... Once that is achieved, you can buy farter guy some beano....

Problem Sol-ved!!!!

Well, if it's who I think it is, he comes in direct contact with those that sit in the two seats Yank's talking about.

I've not seen too many opposing fans sitting in those seats. Actually, I haven't seen many fans (other than the BPers that hijack 'em) in those seats at all. If it really is a partial owner that has those seats, I have to question his taste in people. The last two I saw there didn't look like classy ladies, if you catch my drift. Maybe this partial owner is spending a lot of time trolling street corners.

The seats that Yankee is talking about are owned by a company that has a suite and they apparently give those seats to opposing fans every game. They come down to sit late (second qtr/3rd qtr) in the game and they leave early. The fans that were down there this game were very vocal (almost in a taunting way).

It is not very smart to go sit in the Black Hole and cheer for the opposing team while the home team is losing nor should it be for opposing fans in OUR Bull Pen. One day cooler heads may not prevail.

The Texans are aware of these issues and they have not been able to correct them in five season. We can only hope they do it before something stupid happens.

Like OSU's QB. Gawd, goes and posts in NCAA forum :(

No doubt, Yankee. We've been trying to move down in the 500's for years, but brokers have most of the seats in front of us (about 6 rows). We see different fans at every game for the most part.

It seems to me that the Texans would want the rabid fanatics on the front rows of every section. We are loud and proud, and in six seasons, I have NEVER been asked to be quiet or sit down. I suppose wearing a hard hat tells people what I'd think of their 'request'.

But the Texans are all about making money, so they will not offend a PSL holder to accomodate the fanatics. Corporate BS over team spirit, IMO. (The same folks that bring us six different uniform combos for 8 home games...go figure.)

Here's what the FO can do:

Contact the company to issue a "cease and desist" order. If the company refuses to comply, pull the PSLs. I doubt the company will sue, because: a) who needs the bad press in H-town?, and b) don't they have a business to run?

I am sure the Texans would not have any trouble selling the suite to another firm.

Sending opposing fans to the bullpen is just wrong.

The Texans have a corporate deal with StubHub. Are they going to bite the hand.....?

The two tickets in front of me are StubHubbed. Usually it is opposing fans in the seats. This game and the Eagles game, they were cool. Dallas game was uncool, until the completion of the mudhole stomping.

There is an etiquette of going to an opposing stadium. You are cordial to the people around you, you clap when something good happens, and you trash talk the folks around you.

It’s time to play Fact or Fiction:

Today's topic the Mysterious Beer Flying incidents popping up all around Reliant Stadium:

"Ohhhhh, I'm sorry Mr. Cowboy fan! I just got too excited and the beer went flying everywhere. I'm truly apologize."

After the game in the Texans front office Rick Smith talks to ownership:

"Its a mystery, Bob! We had 13,652 complaints of flying beer today at the game. Apparently, it's an epidemic. On a high note, Miller had to bring in an extra truck full of kegs to keep up with demand and concession sales are at an all time high"

Needless to say everybody has a big **** eating grin on their faces as they meeting.

I didn't think twice about PSL when I purchased mine, but I'm really beginning to hate these things. The problem will get worse as the team gets better.

Or, when overly confident fans come into the stadium. You should see some of the crap I read on the Saints' message board about their big upcoming road trip.

I have brought fans of the opposing team to the games before, but they were friends of mine who I gave the tickets to.

I have seats 24 & 23 row J in section 117. I think the 6 seats in the row behind me must belong to a broker. 90% of the time they have fans of the other team in them. It gets really old, game after game, having some one yell in your ear for the other team. The Colts fans in them this past Sunday didn't do anything perticularly wrong and mostly behaved, but that hasn't always been the case. I don't drink and am generally don't say anything to them, but others around me do. I have even seen a fight break out between two Eagles fans that got tired of each other. I don't have a problem with the other teams fans being in the stadium, but I don't think they should be allowed in the Bull Pen. In the Bull Pen we are almost required to stand for the whole game. I am real tired of some (insert name here) fan getting drunk and cusing me because I won't sit down. Let them go to the Black Hole or the Dawg Pound and see how than works. I realize that we are more civialized here in Texas, but dang we shouldn't have to put up with this just out of Southern Courtesy.

:fans:

I have four psl's and I can only make about four games a year because it's a 6 hour drive each way. And I can't sell the games that I miss for face value on this site because I lose so much money on the preseason games that I have to make up the difference on some other games like the titans game. Sorry if I sold them to the opposing teams fans, I really don't know if I do cause I sell them on stubhub, but I would go to every game If I lived in Houston.

Too bad the Saints suck this year. Those fans won't have much to say on this road trip.

where are your seats and are you considering selling them? I purchased season tix this year but no psl's (yet) every where around me is corporate with different fans every week and I had the most annoying, pompus, spoiled rotton, rhinestone covered female Colts fan beside me and when we were down by 17 she was giving me crap! I don't sit down much, never when the Defense is on the field, and I'm in sec 104 trying my darndest to get and keep it loud!!! I am really considering the bullpen for next year! I chose these 'cause they are on the 20 yd line, but I am learning, you want to watch a game...stay home...you want to experience a game...get your butt to the stadium and scream your head off :wild:

I am in a similar situation. I have very nice PSLs in a section next to the Bull Pen. For the first 4 years, I gave tickets away to family and friends to games I couldn't make. It's a long story, but I made the decision to start selling a few games here and there. Just giving stuff away doesn't work. I still do it, but not as openly and for any game I can't make.

Another thing, a lot of fans and season tickeholders live outside of Houston and can't go to every game. I would much rather go to every game. I would prefer to be more generous, but I really don't want to be a charity in supporting somebody's entertainment budget on a continual basis.

I have also tried to sell tickets on the message boards. But no one wants to pay market, they want some sweet heart deal. Look, I really don't know you people, and what is to stop you from selling those tickets after you get a good deal? Not to mention, some of you really are not that nice about it anyway. It was just a hassal to do it on the message board. That doesn't go for everyone I talked to, but it seemed more than 50% of my discussion was just garbage rather than dealing with a seriously interested buyer that would pay market price.

At some point in my life, I will get back to Austin or Houston, and I can go to more games. When I do get back, nice seats are not just going to fall into my lap. Who is going to help me out with that then? NO ONE WILL!!!! It's up to me to take care of that, and that's why I took care of that back in 2002.

Also, keep in mind, some of these people may have been given those tickets by season ticket holder. I have a lot of family and friends that root for other teams and they like to go to the games. So, I give them the tickets because I have known them a long time and they have done a lot for me in return.

I think you guys are getting your feathers too bunched up here. Go to a few road games and maybe you will have a different appreciation. I just don't get why you guy's are so upset over this. As long as a person isn't spitting or getting physical with anyone, it's a football game. Have fun!

Lastly, if you want Bull Pen seats to be sold to Texans fans from ticket holders, than I suggest you try getting something serious on this board to pay market price less about 12% (that is about what I run in fees and such selling on ebay). I would rather sell to Texans fans, but I am not really in the mood to give things away either.

Provide some reasonable financial alternative besides banging away away on the keyboard and flapping your gums at the game (just poking a little fun here, don't take me to seriously and start some flame war, lighten up a little if smoke is coming out of your ears right now). Maybe the Texans organization can help with facilitating that process? I am open minded to trying to figure out a solution to this problem.

I disagree, if the fan in the seats is casing problems the PSL owner can get a warning and if it continues the PSL owner can lose his seats.

Back to the original topic - we're not griping about Texans fans with PSL's who have to sell a few games. I'm talking about corporate seats (allegedly owned by a partial own of the Texans) that has people in it one quarter a game.

And maybe expand that to Stubhub people who own 10, 15, 20+ seats.

I don't think anyone here blames Texans fans who live else where.

As far as getting scratch for your tickets, winning will help :) I sometimes offer people tickets at 50% off and they act like it's too expensive.

***thread title may be misleading, but go read my initial post***

Understood, I guess I was the one being too sensitive.

Funny!

Lesson, becareful where you point your finger!

This is bs, if you sell your tickets than put them up on here for a fellow Texan fan or sell them to someone next to you.

As far as the Bullpen and the other sections around it, the front office needs to get those tickets from the brokers ASAP.

Me too. But I haven't seen the original owners since the day when all the season ticket holders got to check out their seats before everyone else.

yeah, I'm selling them face Value, sect 322, Row N seats 3-6. $900 each.

yay!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know how or why, but there were two boys in the front two seats Sunday, Texans fans, AND they were there the entire game!!!!!

The Bullpen Gods smiled on us Sunday! (well, aside from the wave of tired legs over in 117, lol!) Hollywood, Charlie (does he have an MD name?), Preston, and Mark did all they could....

Preston joined the loud mouths in 116. I don't know what is happening with section 117. Maybe a late night on the town Sat night!:shades: Not much energy there at all.

Did you all notice how Wyn got all hyped up when we were screamng his name? He had one of his best run backs after that. He was nodding his head, jumping up and down, and took off like a bullet. It was fun to watch!!

Still having phantom farter issue around 116 rows B/C/D

It was beyond bad last weekend.
