From Dale Robertson's column in the Chron:

"Hopefully, the fans are wild and crazy and in their seats right from the beginning, yelling and screaming for us," quarterback Matt Schaub said.

Pass the word to everyone and anyone, get in to Reliant early. I'm having the Battle Red Bunch shut it down at 11am, and we're heading in.

Do it in a friendly way, but please do tell others as you are walking in to Reliant Sunday....C'mon, let go! Our Texans are counting on us! Shut down the tailgate and get in to the stadium!

After VICTORY we can dance all over the parking lots!!!

Andre Ware said the same thing. The fans influence the game a lot.
Be early.
Be loud.
BE A WINNER! :doot:

If I'm at 3rd Base in Austin at 1100hrs and I'm screaming, but noone at Reliant can hear it, am I really making any noise?

DAMN STRAIGHT I AM! I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME!

That is the rut that everybody has to break. In previous years, it's been like "at least in the parking lot we're not losing yet". Get your arses inside so that the team can hear you before they ever get on the field. I remember hearing some player comment back in the Luv Ya Blue days that they could feel the DOME shaking while they were leaving the locker room for the runway. Staging in the runway is the time players use to get into total game mode, and they draw that energy from everything....especially when they can't hear themselvse thing because the crowd is soooo loud. The same can also be said about the opposing team...they are used to crowds...but it let's them know upfront they they are going to have trouble communicating verbally on the field. If the Reliant crowd can put even an inkling of thought of the crowd instead of the game, they've done their job.

I think it is a two-way street. The past few years, the Texans didn't give the fans any reason to get excited or get there early. Seems to me that this team has captured the fans' imagination again. Reliant will be rockin' Sunday, no doubt about that. But let's try to show some class out there too.

A lil smack talk is fine, but no reason to go over the line with any Colts fans in the house.

I'll be there cheering my ass off! I may not be able to sleep Sat night I'm so excited. Only thing that would make me happier is if it was dollar beer Sunday. Now that would be a good time.

Drinking $2.50 Miller Lite pints and hanging with the Miller Chill Girls, too, hookin. You don't stand a chance at either sobriety or having a voice by gametime. :shades:

It is my opinion that if you are going to buy tickets for a game, there is no reason to just sit there and make no sound. At the beginning of the Jags game last year, I was working on causing a Jags False Start, while most people around me thought I was crazy. By the end of that game, everyone was on their feet.

Be loud from the opening kick-off all the way til' we see Schaub taking a knee! Let's yell and scream all the way out of the stadium, too!

The only thing I will say is if you buy your ticket, you have the right to cheer as much or as little as you want. People are different, some people want to view the scene of a crowd going crazy, some want to participate. If a fan next to me only wants to clap after something happens, that is cool. As long as her/she doesn't get upset while I am screaming, it's cool. In my section we have all kinds of people. All good fans, but different types. We have the screamers, the golf clappers, the silent types, the cheerleader, etc. Everyone gets along and it is a good mix. But there is one 'debbie downer' guy who I really don't like. He just screams out negative things like, "Nice throw Schaub!!!!", after any incompletion. He never cheers the team on, he just screams something stupid out and then looks at his wife and smiles because he is proud of his statement.

We all are Texans fans, but different in our approach. Don't confuse a lack of volume with a lack of loyalty to the team. But at the minimum it would be nice if everyone atleast clapped when the Colts are on offense, lol.

We plan on finishing that 24 pack by 10:30 and heading in, hope my GF can hang.
