The ROOF... The ROOF... The ROOF will be???

Since the game temperature will be above 80°, the roof will be...closed.

I got an e-mail from the Texans saying that the roof will be closed for the game with the Bears. On a day like this, I don't think they want a repeat of the stuff that went down during the Steelers game 2yrs ago.:ouch:

Roof will be closed. The temperature is forcasted to be 86 degrees at gametime.
.

According to the National Weather Service, the forecast temperature when the game is over will be 86.

Here's the 7 pm forecast for the Reliant Park area per NWS:

Saturday, August 11 at 7pm

Temperature: 93°F Dewpoint: 73°F Heat Index: 102°F Wind: S 6mph
Precipitation Potential: 6% Sky Cover: 45% Relative Humidity: 52%
Rain: <10% Thunder: <10%

As much as I like the roof open, this is probably a good one to leave it closed the entire time.

It was still quite warm at game time last night, but the evening game temp and that noon Steeler game don't even begin to compare. Someone had said the open roof would give the Texans an advantage over the Steelers, yet after coming off the field they went over to climate controls and remained poised to take a victory by storm. The poor Texans fans suffered the most intense punishment that bordered on abuse.

OBTW, were there any vendors in the stands last night?

You are correct, it was unnecessary abuse. I heard the Texans are having a problem selling PSLs in the NEZ now. I don't know how many PSLs they lost due to being that stupid, but, I know it was significant. If they are going to open the roof, they HAVE to correct the air flow to the lower sections in the NEZ. Even last year when it was 75 degrees outside, and they opened the roof, it was over 95 in the Bullpen. The seats were to hot to touch. If I was sitting on wooden benches in an open air stadium, like the old days, I wouldn't complain, BUT, IMHO, it was POOR planning on the part of whoever designed that stadium. Now, they need to fix it, or leave the roof closed!!
