2008 draft prospects .

Wow, Slaton at 13. Thats lower than I think he should be. And Pat White not in the top 100? I really dislike scrambling quarterbacks, but if I had to choose one it would be White.

shouldnt that fs phillips from miami be on there (or did i miss him?)..haven't seen him but hes supposed to be a sean taylor/ ed reed combo.. wouldnt mind him being our 1st rd pick if hes as good as they say

ps. its really slow...got any 2009 prospects??

I think the Texans are looking at Dorsey or Harvey .

I don't know that I'd say the Texans are "looking" at anyone in the 2008 draft yet, at least to the point where they are targeting anyone. I also hope we don't use yet another 1st round pick on a DLineman, as of right now I'd hope we'd go with a DB or someone on offense, but that all depends on where we pick and who's available.

I was trending ... should have put the sarcasm thing on .

I hope Limas Sweed falls to us wherever we draft....might be time to go offense in the 1st rd....

Unless Andre Johnson blows out a knee or something, they aren't going to pull a number 2 WR off the board with a first round pick. Especailly since they only have two...maybe one if they go tramping for the Geogia CB in the suppilmental draft in the '08 draft. They haven't done it in six drafts. They just spent a day one pick on a high end prospect....get it through your head...they ain't going to do it. He's a 32 through 64 tallent. Someone may reach for him in the first, but it isn't going to be the Texans. Unless they're going to move A.J. for a pair of high picks...bizzar, but so is drafting SS #3, I can see no scenario that makes sense for a first round WR. They just fixed the T.J. problem...they don't have a WR2 problem. First thing they have to prove...befor they prove they can have enough targets for the WR2 to justifiy day one money...once again... in consecfutive drafts...is that they can get a five and seven step drop off....consitantly...without getting another QB killed. Can this group of o-lineman can come together and protect the QB ? Something they haven't been able to acomplish in five seasons without bastardizing the offense. Sweed is not chopped beef. But we have, IMHO, bigger fish to fry than WR2. Salaam goes down and Spencer's not ready...you're going to see it in spades this season.

sure its early, I would'nt say everything but its pretty close, is riding on Spencers recovery. lets hope he regains his form, otherwise instead of a defensive lineman the Texans will be forced to draft an offensive lineman in the 1st rd. for the first time in the organizations history, god forbid threetoedpete finally gets his wish :pirate:

staying positive I feel the Texans have an outstanding chance to finish @ or just slighty above .500 so I'm only going to focus on mid 1st picks.

my favorite CB is DeJuan Tribble, Boston College (early odds on favorite to be a Texan) only 5-09 but has the complete package of skills you want, man on man coverage, competitivness, run support & playmaking abiltiy.

Jared Gaither will be draft eligible, the big OT would be a project to develop but could set the tables to be the Texans LT for the next 12-13 years.

Eddie Royal, WR Virginia Tech is a Ted Ginn type speed burner but unlike Ginn he is a workout warrior who can bench twice his own weight (something you gym rates might better understand) plus he has excellent hands, still rough on the route running. can also contribute in the return game, alot here would depend on how Jerome Mathis responds this coming year.
