bucs giving up 4th pic to N.O.?

rascous

Practice Squad
Just a rumor on Yahoo sports. They are going to be talking to Charles Grant, DE from N.O. Problem is that N.O. taged him as their franchise player so if the bucs sign him it will cost them two no.1's.

Grant is scheduled to meet with the bucs today. (Yahoo Sports rumors)

It doesn't have to cost them 2 1st Round picks. It could, but that is at the discretion of the New Orleans G.M. They could always workout a different kind of deal just like some team could workout a different kind of deal with Atlanta for Matt Schaub instead of giving up a 1st Round pick and a 3rd Round pick.

if NO moves up to 4 it'll be for Calvin Johnson if Oakland hasn't taken him. with the loss of Joe Horn they need an impact WR

Colston and Henderson are impact enough, especially when you can throw Reggie out there in the slot and have Duece in the backfield with Brees running the offense...not to mention the solid offensive line that is allowing Brees to get them the ball...

I think if NO moves up it would be for Joe Thomas, they have a solid line but it is not completely dominating.

joe thomas wouldn't make much sense. i'm sure if they move up to #4, they'd take gaines adams, since they just lost grant in this theoretical trade.

Buccaneers | Team will make a run at C. Grant in 2008

Roy Cummings, of The Tampa Tribune, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers talked with free-agent DE Charles Grant (Saints), who was franchise tagged by the New Orleans Saints this offseason. The Buccaneers visit with Grant was an attempt to let him know they will make a run at him in 2008 if he is a free agent again. General manager Bruce Allen said, "We never intended to discuss a contract with him. We talked about his dreams and discussed his options. We obviously have a leg up on our competition."

^^^No trade, just lettin the dude know they goin after him in 2008.

It sounds strange though that he would fly to Tampa at this time of free agency and the upcoming draft. Maybe the bucs are thinking that if the player they want at #4 is gone, they might trade down and get Grant and another pick. Just a thought.

His name is Charles Grant, not Reggie White. This makes no sense. Even if they do cut Simeon Rice.
