IF Peterson falls to 8 and....

Ok, I think it is a possibility that Peterson falls to 8. I seriously think we should take him. IF WE PASS on another high calibur player like this one, then I think I might personally burn down reliant stadium. I know we already have Ahman Green.

BUT, look at all the successful teams in the league that have a duo running back combination. BEARS, NFC Champs with Jones and Benson. Saint, NFC Championship game, BUSH and McCallister. Then the Colts, Superbowl Champs, Rhodes and Addai.

Those are just a few of the successful teams. I think Ahman Green was a very positive pick up for us, BUT, do we think he can play all 16 games? Then, why pass on a true Running back who can run between the tackles, get the 3rd and 2's, breakaway speed, or flat out run you over? Late in the 4th quarter after oppenents have been taking a beating all day by the power of Peterson and Green, it should not be a problem to run that clock and and seal a "W".
IF a miracle happens, make it happen and Select Adrian Peterson for crying out loud. This teams needs excitement.
 
I think if Peterson does fall to us we're going to either 1)Select him or 2) definitly find a team that would trade to our spot.

I love the Green signing as well as all the other FA. They should all see significant playing time yet it still leaves the whole draft open for us to select anyone...they aren't overpaid and it's not limiting our draft spots.

Green and Peterson would be awesome. The thing i see though is that Green will in all likelihood only play here 2-3 years even though his contract is for 4. He's not our long term franchise back. So just because we have him doesn't mean our RB situation is fine and we can pass on peterson. WE'll have the 2 of them...and then in two years we'd have Peterson and whoever steps up...like taylor or lundy...or another rb we drafted/traded for /FA.
 
you'd be foolish to pass on peterson at #8. like...dumbfoundingly blindingly foolish. unless quinn is there, then i can see taking him. but...that's it.

The fact that you mention this helps me to believe that we would go ahead and draft Peterson. Particularly because Indy did this. Mcnair seems to want to copy Indy alot. Almost all of his decisions have been based on how do you beat Indy? Well, if that is the case. Last year he had a firsthand look at it when Dayne carried us to that win. Our defense is shaping up right now, so a good run game can go a long ways. IMO going that route would be taking Tennessee's old approach in getting to the Superbowl. Defense and running game.
 
I never thought about the whole copying the Colts thing, good call. I have been an advocate for AD, this only adds more fuel to the fire.

I'd take the trade yes. points-wise we'd get the 3rd rounder for free. But peterson is a lot more appealing than if anybody else was there so he could be worth that extra 3rd...

I'd definitly do this.

we'd have a 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, and 3rd first day....awesome. and they'd all be top half which is even sweeter. this deal would be done pretty quickly..we'd have at least 4 starters come 1st game.

2. Michael Bush RB/Stuart Bradley-OLB

Take your combination of all sorts of guys.

We could get our secondary completed easily and still address oline and dline with this trade all w/ 1st day picks.

Thomas Jones is a NY Jet and Dominic Rhodes is an Oakland Raider

Doesn't change the fact that each was a part of a Superbowl team and both were big reasons why they were there.

I imagine each team will grab a RB in the draft...probably somewhat early too.
