The Top Three Possibly Mock Drafts

Mostly likely:

1. Oakland - JaMarcus Russel/QB
2. Detroit - Brady Quinn/QB
3. Cleveland - Adrian Peterson/RB
4. Tampa Bay - Calvin Johnson/WR
5. Arizona - Joe Thomas/OT
6. Washington - Gaines Adams/DE
7. Minnesota - Alan Branch/DT
8. Houston - LaRon Landry/S

Another likely:

1. Oakland - JaMarcus Russel/QB
2. Detroit - Joe Thomas/OT
3. Cleveland - Adrian Peterson/RB
4. Tampa Bay - Calvin Johnson/WR
5. Arizona - Alan Branch/DT
6. Washington - Gaines Adams/DE
7. Minnesota - LaRon Landry/S
8. Houston - Brady Quinn/QB

Least likely (my hopeful):

1. Oakland - Calvin Johnson/WR
2. Detroit - Brady Quinn/QB
3. Cleveland - JaMarcus Russel/QB
4. Tampa Bay - Joe Thomas/OT
5. Arizona - Alan Branch/DT
6. Washington - Gaines Adams/DE
7. Minnesota - LaRon Mandry/S
8. Houston - Adrian Peterson/RB

Of course, all this is with no trades. I honestly think that if someone tradea up and/or takes Johnson, Thomas, Peterson, Quinn, or Landry, we will trade down.

there's always one of those big surprise picks in the top 10. this could be it. ken whisenhut's best success came with a good two back system. matt leinart's success in college centered around a two-back system. the four best teams in the NFL last year utilized a two-back system. peterson is the BPA available, and edge is getting old. and they have the cap space. joe thomas is gone. they're going to try and win now.

I think with Edgerrin's performance last year, the evidence shows that it is the line, not the back that is the problem in Arizona. If Whisenhunt like's a two back system then he will use JJ Arrington more (and probably get him to produce). If Thomas is gone, then they will probably take the best available DL

One thing i noticed that is none of them you dont have Minnesota taking a WR which very well could be their selection if they decided to pass of Quinn. The other site that i post on has very smart nfl posters and it actually has a ton of minnesota fans. Up until recently they were all adament about a WR at #7 and some still are. They were saying that they really didnt have a WR on their team other than Williamson who has been a let down who cant catch. They desperately need a #1 WR.

for one, brad childress doesn't seem too keen on taking receivers that high. secondly, there isn't much value in taking a receiver at #7.

I'm warming up to the idea of Quinn at 8. Question to me right now is what Detriot and Cleveland are going to do about their QB situation. John Kitna put up good number last year...but he's stuck i nthe same role he was in Cinci. He's going to be repalced again at some point by a younger, better QB who can take them to the next level. From what i was hearingat least prior to the season the browns felt comfortable tabbing Frye as the GUY there. Wonder if they've changed their mind & amping to get Quinn or Russell.

If anyone trades out of the top ten this year i think its Minnesota. I think they are relatively set at QB and RB, but they could use WR help and secondary help. If Quinn or Peterson falls to them they'll be fielding phone calls.

The top two picks in the draft will by qbs. Oakland will take JeMarcus Russell and Detroit or whoever trades up for the second pick will take Brady Quinn. I think Detroit might end up trading this pick to Cleveland since their owner wants Brady Quinn and they are afraid Detroit might trade this pick to someone else. If that happens Detroit could still get Joe Thomas along with some additional considerations from Cleveland. Detroit will be afraid to draft a wide receiver with their first pick again. All the pundits would be joking about it. Most of the teams picking early that had runningback problems have made some changes recently ;therefore, I would not be surprised to see Adrian Peterson fall to Buffalo at number 12.

I agree 100 percent. I think the lack of production from Edge last year proved the theory that a great runningback is nothing special behind a horrible line. That being said, I believe this forces them to take another look at Arrington.

Arizona should trade down a few spots and take Levi Brown. Move him to RT to protect Leinart because he's been projected as being a better RT in the pros. That is more important that LT for the cards...plus they would get an extra pick/2/3..etc. easier said than done though.

i can certainly see arz. taking AP at 5.

that being said i could see them moving back so that they could justify taking levi brown if thomas is gone.

Based on needs and recent player movement and anticipated player movemnt, along with needs I could see it shape up like this:

Oak- Calvin Johnson WR
Det- J, Russell QB
Cle- B. Quinn QB
Bucs- G. Adams DE
Ari. - J. Thomas OT
Wash. - A. Branch DT
Minn. - J. Anderson DE
Hou. - L. Landry S

I could actually see the Texans take a route in the draft similar to this

RD 1 Landry S LSU
2 McCauley CB Fresno ST
3 Harris OT Notre Dame
4 Smith WR USC

So, I guess it's safe to say they've already given up on Arrington? It's a shame if they have, he was a stud in college. I personally thought he was going to be a pretty good NFL back.
