Kalil, IMHO, is a true ZBS center. He should be able to pull and bring in a lot of stuff into the play book just like Kevin Mawae did when he was a young'un and playing with the Jets. It is the same reason Nick Mangold got picked in the first last draft. Could he fall ? Sure. But I think a lot of us are thinking now that his upside is too great for the teams at 33 through 38 would by pass. At least you've got one, a high end guy, picked Xt. That's 20% of the puzzel for sure.
I personally have felt for a while now...that McCauley and Hughes will fall out of the first. They got a sniff at the second teired guys at the combine. I'm betting the scouts, HCs and owners are going to go rewatch the film, look at the combine numbers and end up scratching thier collective heads at a couple of the top prospects. We'll see.
Kalil isn't as good as Mangold IMHO...
And the problem with giving guys draft grades is that you may have 60 players with 1st round grades, but only 32 teams picking for specific needs...I have seen 5 or 6 corners projected to be first rounders, but in all likely hood there will only be 3 or 4 tops that get drafted in the first, and I honestly believe that's pushing it.
In this draft the late first early second is going to be prime. There is so much talent in that area that those guys can go just about anywhere between 20-39 where we pick...
Think about all the guys you have that are projected in that area:
Meachem, Bowe, Rice, Jarret, Stanton,Brian Leonard, Michael Bush, Greg olsen, Zach Miller, Staley, Ugoh, Grubbs, Blaylock, Kalil, Jarvis Moss, Anthony Spencer, Adam Carriker, Lamar Woodley, Mebane, Justin Harrell, Marcus Thomas, Quin Pitcock, Lawrence Timmons, Jon Beason, Paul Poslunnzsny, Rufus Alexander, Patrick Willis, Brandon Siler, H.B blades, Ross, Revis, Hughes, McCauley, Nelson, Merriweather, Griffin, Weddle, Stanton...Plus more that I'm sure I missed...
That's almost a whole rounds worth of players that can go from 20-39 where we pick in the second....About 32 players for 19 slots....
There is no way you can convince me that one of these guys WON'T fall, because you just don't know.
