OSU, wow....?

As probably the biggest Buckeye on here, I will tip my hat to FL.

Still wondering what happened to Ginn.

I am still shocked at the way we played:

O-Line- got burned play after play leading to sacks or hurry ups
WR's- couldn't get open to save their lives
Troy- should have stepped up and made SOMETHING happen
RB's- why didn't we use them? when we did why didn't they cut further outside?
D-Line- probably the closest to playing average
Secondary- probably the worst; every time Leak threw a 10 yd pass the WR didn't have a defender w/in 5 yards
Kicking- was horrid in the first half leading to good FL field position
Tressel- is a big game coach, how did he not turn this around? Maybe some play action and screen passes?

I have to admit I was a little embarassed. People, especially SEC will run around saying we were overrated. We weren't, we just played the worst game possible on every front. :(

Both Ohio State and Michigan shocked me in the bowl games.

I thought that after Ginn's touchdown return that we'd have a hell of a game, only to be fooled by a frustrated offense with 7 step drops and a defense that was playing a severely soft zone.

My g/f is a Buckeye alum and though I don't follow the team that closely (other than having watched the Michigan game earlier this year) I was astounded to see these 12-0 "champs" play like such chumps. I swear Dom Capers was walking the sideline; totally uninspired play, zero adjustments, and horrible, ultra conservative playcalling on both sides of the ball. What other than the extra long layoff can even begin to account for such horrid play? I wasn't that impressed with FLA's strategy -- screens and misdirections on offense (which apparently worked to perfection) and blitz every play on defense, and still, no adjustments from Tressel and Co.

Thank God we didn't make it to Buffalo Wild Wings as was originally planned ... we got to sit through that drubbing at her house with a few friends.

I've mentioned before how on any given day anything can happen.
That's why it was so dumb to see people saying that the louisville's and bosie state's could'nt/should'nt be allowed in the BCS championship game.

on any given..........

Huh, we're #2 in both polls. I figured USC would be after last night. Or LSU. We'll see what the BCS says.

It says "final", nevermind. Hmmm.

I think the Big 10 is just overrated. Both OSU and Michigan just looked slower than USC and Florida. This wasn't any given sunday stuff, Florida was just the better team. If they played 10 time florida would win 7 of them.

I thought we were going to have a game when FL. scored on thier opening possession, guess that never happened. I think when OS went for it on 4th and 1 on thier side of the field was the dumbest play ever. OK, ya can go down 10 at the half with punting the ball if ya can hold them, but boy, that swung the entire game, 5 minutes later, down by 20. Worst decision in a big game that could have been made, almost Capers like !

I guess we got spoiled with last years title game...

the top two teams in the Big 10 were completely dominated and were made to look like JV teams against superior competition. Big 10 guys were constantly trashing the SEC for their out-of-conference schedule. welp, now ya know what it's like to play a tough out-of-conference team or two.

JT the Brick reported that Ginn likely got injured on the celebration after his TD return.

Even if he had been healthy the rest of the game though, it wouldn't have mattered. Florida had Ohio State beat on almost every snap, going both ways.

Yeah, Ginn doesn't play defense. Their defense allowed 41 points.

South Eastern Conference

Most years it is the best conference in the land. If nothing else, it is the deepest conference by far. This was definitely a banner year for the SEC.

1978 Sugar Bowl
Alabama 35, Ohio State 6

1990 Hall of Fame
Auburn 31, Ohio State 14

1993 Citrus Bowl
Georgia 21, Ohio State 14

1995 Citrus Bowl
Alabama 24, Ohio State 17

1996 Citrus Bowl
Tennessee 20, Ohio State 14

2001 Outback Bowl
South Carolina 24, Ohio State 7

2002 Outback Bowl
South Carolina 31, Ohio State 28

The best of the best out of the SEC is king. Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, South Carolina.... face it that a badass team is coming out of this conference.

So I guess those pronosticators who were crying about the SEC was a rumor of their own making for having so many teams in the bowl games...were greatly exagerating ?

Once they lost Ginn Jr. Florida abused tosu. Absolutly no respect for the rest of the team. They basically layed back their ears and ate that o-line up. The osu is still tring to figure out how to get that a-b gap thingy blocked. Everet blasting tatter tot with out his hat, was like the trail boss collectin prarrie oysters from the bull and turning him into a steer. Brutal and merciless. If he'd of had a collar, he could of taken him home as his pet.

Take off the INT by Smith, the fumble by Smith, and the failed 4th down conversion that all lead to TDs, and the score is 20-14. Florida has great field position all day because the offense did nothing. I'm not saying Ohio State would have won if Ginn was in, but it would have been a lot closer than the 41-14 fiasco.

Watch out for Percy Harvin in a few years, that guy looks like he has a lot of potential.

The broadcasters were saying that he will be used a lot like Reggie Bush in the running and passing game. He's a freshman and he played great last night so I'm excited to see him in the future.

As for the SEC:

LSU and FL are good. But Big Ten went 2-1 and Big 12 went 1-1, almost 2-0. They may have won a lot of bowl games, but not a strong showing.

Oklahoma State over Alabama
Clemson lost to Kentucky
Houston almost beat South Carolina
Georgia over Virginia Tech
Tennessee lost to Penn State
Auburn barely beat a mediocre Nebraska
Arkansas lost to Wisconsin

yeah, kinda like how florida "barely" won a lot of games this year and didn't belong in the national championship.

That was about as good as Florida could play and as badly as OSU could play. I would love to see Florida and USC duke it out now.

What about Florida and Boise St?

I'm not sure if that would play out well but the undefeated team should get a shot.

The Big 10 went 2-3. The SEC went 7-3.

The only team that could give the SEC a running this year for the best conference in the Big East (5-0).
