Fiesta Bowl: Boise State v. OU

The coach couldn't find anyone to high five...the OU fans were shocked, dissapointed, and pretty depressed. Great moment in sports.

Gotta love the way he handled the ball on that fake... a righthander holding it behind his back with his left hand. Total fakeout.

GREATEST ENDING I'VE SEEN SINCE THE GIANTS-BILLS SUPER BOWL!

THAT WAS REDAMN AMAZING!!!!!!!

How will OSU-Florida top this????

This is why I hate College football, They were essentially playing for like 6th place. Imagine if this was a playoff game..

Exactly, Boise State is undefeated and goes no further. What's the point of even playing the season if you have no shot at winning a championship?

That has to be one of, if not the, best game I've ever seen. Ohio State vs Miami in 2002 wasn't as good as this game. What an amazing game.

Hook and Ladder, Statue of Liberty, and now Proposal to Cheerleader

I smell a movie about this in 10 years

I wonder what this kid is doing right now?

I liked the conversation they had about how this could help lead to a real playoff. It's not happening any time soon but I'm for anything that messes with the current BCS structure. Boise finishes 13-0. Guess what we'll be talking about on sports radio for the next month or so...

Alright Ohio, do your part and lose to Florida. Maybe then we can get an actual playoff system in here.

Can you imagine the uproar if Florida won, and Boise state was the only undefeated team left in the nation, and they weren't national champions.

Edit: Idiocy, thanks gg

well it's going to be brought up anyway....... who was on their schedule??

just looked at it...

Thu, Aug 31 Sacramento State W 45-0 --
Thu, Sep 7 Oregon State W 42-14 --
Sat, Sep 16 at Wyoming W 17-10 --
Sat, Sep 23 Hawaii W 41-34 --
Sat, Sep 30 at Utah W 36-3 --
Sat, Oct 7 Louisiana Tech W 55-14 --
Sun, Oct 15 at New Mexico State W 40-28 --
Sat, Oct 21 at Idaho W 42-26 --
Wed, Nov 1 Fresno State W 45-21 --
Sat, Nov 11 at San Jose State W 23-20 --
Sat, Nov 18 Utah State W 49-10 --
Sat, Nov 25 at Nevada W 38-7 --

I'm not seeing this 13-0 as being equivalent to Ohio State, Florida, or even some of the one loss teams.

Go Gators!

On second thought, if for some reason Ohio State does lose, and that makes Florida the BCS champions, is there a chance something like three years ago happens with LSU and USC, with a split national championship?

I believe that happened because the AP, in addition to the BCS, gave out its own National Championship, resulting in two being given out.

It's not, that is why there should be a playoff system. Basically, with the current system you are telling BSU that they have no shot at winning a championship because of their schedule.

Wow. Quick comments from the game I saw.

The BSU coach is due for a huge raise and is about to have his recruiting budget increased ten-fold.

Rufus Alexander is better than advertized. He is bigger than the last time I saw him. He is a solid open field tackler and can get after the QB. This should solidify him as a late 1st, but could still slip with guys like Earl Everett and Timmerman yet to play.

AP was rusty until late. AP won't return because I see very little hope in that team to come. Who the heck is going to be their next QB?

Neither D-line impressed me at all.

Ok's O-line did not really impress me.

BSU's Oline did impress me a lot however. They can pass block really well, I especially like the BSU LT.

My sleeper from this game is the BSU TE. Good hands and good size. Came up big and created seperation. Knows how to shift formations and play multiple spots. He did have a stupid penality early for rolling over a OU guy. Sleeper TE maybe.

The BSU QB has some intangiables. He is not an NFL QB though. He doesn't have the arm or accuracy, but he is a winner. I see him as an H-back or WR convert. He has a future in the NFL possibly, but it won't be as a QB.

That's not a bad schedule, 4 bowl winners, and they manhandled Oregon State and Hawaii. Nevada lost by 1 point in there bowl game to Miami.

Wow! Best game I have seen in quite some time.

I was sure rooting for Boise State........... I always enjoy seeing Oklahoma lose, and to lose to Boise State in a Bowl Game, he he he he...........

Awesome fake on the 2-pt conversion - did you see the quarterback holding his hands up before the runner crossed the goal line? (it was on a replay) He knew he had them all faked out before the play was finished - what a finish!!!!

Gutsy call, but I like it. Even if they held OK to a field goal on the next OT, they would still need another touchdown to win it. Their chances were just as good on the 2-pointer as another OT possession - especially with the perfectly executed fake.

He put his hands up right after he handed off the ball, it seems. Best fake I've ever seen. I heard the announcer say "..and Johnson has the ball!" and I was lost.

That was the best football game I have seen. The NFL needs to adopt that overtime system used in this game next year.

I only saw the first quarter and from about 2:00 remaining in the 4th to the final play (and the proposal).

That was the best college football game I've seen since....last year's Rose Bowl.

That was something quite amazing.

That game was better than last year's Rose Bowl. Obviously, the implications weren't as big, but as far as the actual game, it was more exciting.

1.Boise St. POUNDED Oregon St. who beat USC

2.Boise St. Beat the Big 12 champs OU

Yes, I think Boise deserves the #2 ranking if Ohio St. wins and AT LEAST a share for the BCS championship if Ohio St. loses.

...When they wake up, or they sleep...from the top of their heads to the bottom of their feet, OU SUCKS!!!!

it's 3:01, and OU still sucks :)

That game was amazing. More than once, I caught myself yelling "Holy S---!!!" out loud.

I wasn't too excited about it until I saw the end of the 1st quarter when they were up 14-0.

Boise State fans should be proud. They went for broke and came up big. I was really impressed with the playcalling and even more impressed with the execution.

And anytime OU loses is just the icing on the cake.

That was just an amazing game. Congrats to the Broncos of Boise State. I like most people thought that Oklahoma was going to stomp on them but they proved me wrong! And man was I glad that I was wrong! That was one of the most fun game I've ever seen. Boise State didn't really use much trickery until the last two plays. I love watching those trick plays and when it works it's just absolutely wonderful. Obviously the coaching staff and the players had to plan it and execute it to perfection and that's why it's so much fun. On the other hand I wanted to see how Adrian Peterson looked because we might have interest in him for the draft. He looked ok and obviously the 3 months he missed affected him and the team. But bottom line is that that it was a great game to watch and as a football fan you couldn't ask for a better ending. Also, did anyone read on espn that Ian Johnson the rb for Boise State proposed to his girlfriend after the game?! How wild was that?! Congrats Boise State.

So what did y'all thimk of Ian Johnson as a RB prospect in the future ?
How does he compare to this years darlin' Leonard of Ruetgers ?
