Game 14 Thread: Texans @ Patriots

Interesting-maybe-only-to-me note: Last week Miami shuts out the Pats. This week, the Pats nearly shut out the Texans (but actually score a lot more points than Miami did). Right now, the Bills are shutting out the Dolphins 21-0. Definitely an "any given Sunday" league...well, for most teams.

I am a Carr supporter. In support of trading him to another team. The guy has regressed horribly, since the 7-9 season. His will to win is no longer in question - it's non-existent. Good person, perhaps, but it's time for him to move on.

thats about as classy as you can say it. carr's time is up.

i guess things are slowing down here. time for all of us to disperse into the other threads to vent our frustration with david carr. ready, set, GO!

I have been on the Carr bandwagon a long time, but I think I'm gonna have to get off. While I don't feel he is as bad as some QBs (Leaf comes to mind instantly), when he is given protection he makes bad decisions. When he is not given protection he is slow to escape the rush.
While I think his protection is sub-par at best, he should be able to compensate for that with the way he throws by this point in the season. If he doesn't compensate, he is not adapting.
He's got two more games to try and save his job. At least that is how it would appear to me after this game. I like Carr as a person as he is a very nice guy. But you can't survive in the NFL being a nice guy on the field. You will only get killed. He has to get mad and get even. He doesn't even get mad that I can see.

After todays game it is official no matter what happens Carr is not going to be a Texan next season. You can only try so long pulling for a guy that cant win.I hope we get a veteran and train a young guy like Kolb next year that would be a nice change

you would have to be Stevie Wonder to be a Carr fan after today...this is the nail in the coffin! Carr is done. trade him? is he even worthy of a 7th round pick.
the Carr experiment is over

Come on now.....Stevie's actually smart

If we move Carr and draft a QB, we need to grab a guy higher than Kolb will be, because they will need to play withing a year, 2 at the most.

I'm feeling Huard and Kolb for some reason... not literally you freaks.

Hey, Testeverde is in!!!

610 asked Smith what Carr had to do these last 3 games to show he's the franchise QB, Smith replied he's had to show it all season - the last 3 games weren't any different.

Rookie QB Anderson for the 4-9 Browns, in his 2nd start, has thrown for more yards than Carr, passed for 2 TDs, and thrown 2 fewer picks than Carr. Against Baltimore.

Kyle Boller did even better than that, filling in for McNair.

The list of successful young QB's who have entered the league and succeeded since Carr's arrival gets longer every year. Hell, even Boller's getting it. Maybe next week Cleo Lemon'll get a chance to join those ranks after Joey Harrington gets benched...lol...

But hey, forget that. Let's keep whuppin' up on this here dead horse under center in Houston for another season...he just needs another year. He'll stop making throws past the LOS, stop having negative-yards passing games, learn to throw the ball more than 8 yards, stop stat-sacking himself by running out of bounds behind the LOS, etc...

Sad.

I think no matter what Carr does the next 2 games, he is as good as gone. I wouldn't be surprised to see Plummer here next year to start with a new QB they draft waiting in the wings.
Well, while I would cringe to see Plummer come here, I do agree that Kubiak might as well start working with a fresh possibility at QB. Jake would only be coming in to start until the newcomer was ready so his playing days would be numbered coming in. I doubt we'd see that much production out of him, and that would only hurt the team.

I agree. I have to blame the organization for not getting a decent veteran from the jump and having Carr learn from the sidelines for a while if he was to eventually become the face of the franchise. Whatever happens, I wish him the best.

Hey, the owner came out and said that Carr is the QB and they all believe they can win a Superbowl with David Carr.

David Carr will be the starting QB next year according to the guy who owns the team. It actually pi$$es me off more than his 4 picks today! :(

Great - now we get to watch the Titans/Jags. Oh, the benefits of your team getting blown out.

The defense scoring three touchdowns for the Titans - their offense has only had 27 plays.

The only reason I say Plummer is because of the history with Kubs. I don't want to see Plummer either, but i just have a feeling thaat's what we will get.

wow, Tenn has had the ball for only 13 minutes and whuppin' the jags? Jax fans are gonna be riled up with the Tacks visiting their boards.

Of course he says that. We're still in the current season. You say that you wanna get rid of him and watch how much he hurts the team against Cleveland. I want Carr to think he has every chance to whip the Browns and go out on a positive note. I think the owner does too. That will be an even match-up
What he said is a mind game to keep media snooping at bay. The winds of change are blowing...
