Nolan and Del Rio allowed to wear suits on sidelines

I'm glad thy're finally letting him wear a suit. Maybe some other coaches will follow suit now. (No pun intended)

How is Reebok going to brand a suit? I can't wait to see the logo on the shoulder, lapel, tie and cuff. But I thought the Cole Haan/Nike combo was a bad idea until I slapped a pair of those bad boys on - now it's my staple. Anyway it should be interesting to see. Personally I don't see many NFL coaches going for it.

Forget that! Belichick is a rebel. If he was forced to wear a suit he would probably tear off the sleeves on them, too. Hahaha!

I love how Belicheck still wore his sweatshirt inside the Metrodome on Monday night football a few weeks back, yet decided to just cut off the sleves.

ALLOWED???? I don;t get why it would NOT be allowed. THat's the way coaches did it in the past. It wasn't really until the late 70's that coaches stopped wearing suits in favor for the 'casual' look

Yup! I actually think he gets penalized for that every game. Naturally, I love the guy! (Other than the fact that he is a defensive genius).

I like the idea of them bringing back the suits. I can't see guys like Cowher or Gruden wearing one though.... they look too angry to be in suits, haha.

Here is the pic from him at the Metrodome vs. the Vikings:

I can't imagine Vince Lombardi or Tom Landry roaming the sidelines wearing a hooded sweatshirt (made by Reebok, the officially licensed supplier of NFL apparel of course).

Why would anybody WANT to wear a suit at work?!? My very first edict when I opened my own business was a "tie optional" dress code. (an option I've yet to exercise). To each his own I guess.

Nolan wants to wear a suit out of respect for his father. Other than that, people just might want that "back in the day" kind of atmosphere on the sidelines when the coach looked much more powerful and knowledgeable.

But like you said, to each his own.
