Bocktoberfest already? I thought that was next month???? Then again, I'm a school teacher who has already clocked a month in, have no idea what in the hell is happening in the world, except for what those whack-jobs...er, I mean high school kids...are doing, I'm planning curriculum weeks in advance and if I didn't write the date on the board every day, I wouldn't have a clue. Actually, just to be safe, my date markers are a different color marker than what I use to write on the whiteboard, so....I keep that jewel in my desk drawer, and whomever is the least obnoxious kid last period of the day is allowed to change the date to the next day and post the agenda. They get all fancy with lettering and grapics and stuff. I'm doing good not to write December 21, 2012 as the current date.
Do you know what those little SOBs did on Friday????? We had a pep rally before school and it was a near Fiesta event. Band, dance teams, the guys partially dressed out, really elaborate. The plan called for the drumline to exit the rally first and have the student body follow nearly half a mile, taking time to celebrate and mingle and the principal announced that the tardy bell had been moved to 9am, vs. 8:45am to allow for said gathering, celebrating, partying and bonding. Before the freakin band could get out of there, a stampede from the inside of the gym pressed forward and instead of marching through the hallway behind the drummers,
8 seperate fights broke out that involved at least 100 of their sorry, gangster butts. It was a ballroom blitz for crying out loud. Yeah, there you go kids. You've just rallied your team to gridiron battle and followed up with a Braveheart scene.

Does anyone wish to wager on whether or not they will see another pep rally this season? Naw, but they did earn themselves mandatory after school study halls if your grades suck, you are a gangster, or if you've had office referrals. THANKS! Now we each have to give up 2 afternoons for that. I won't get home until after 7pm some days. This blows. I need to win the lottery.
Ok....that was way off topic. Tomorrow? Is it noon? I might make it if I can get some sleep tonight. I spent the night with my grandson, who turned 2 months on Wed. I was so paranoid he'd roll over and stop breathing that I didn't sleep at all. He sure did. He was spread out on the leather couch, wearing Texans colors and baby socks, oblivious to the world while I jerked up every 15 minutes to see if he was breathing. I wasn't paranoid like that with MY kids.
Again, sorry to blather on and on, but I'm so sleepy and cannot nap. Mike, I think if we get 7 there, we can take the big screen and the Belagio Buffet.
