NFL Random Thought of the Day

Saw that too Thorn. I like the Redskins name, but don't like the shenanigans.

Just saw that Will Levis is undergoing season ending shoulder surgery. Not that it wasn't likely to be Ward...but now it's 100% on Ward. I'm a skeptic but he's got a chance.
Will Levis will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, for specifically a lingering AC joint issue. He initially sustained this injury in Week 4 of the 2024 season against the Miami Dolphins while diving for a first down. Although he returned to play after missing three games, the pain persisted.

Following the 2024 season, Levis continued to experience discomfort in his right, throwing shoulder, leading him and the Tennessee Titans to decide on season-ending surgery scheduled for July 29th, 2025.

Some media have reported that he sustained a type II separation..............a type I and type II reparation does not lead to surgery. Type III does.

When an NFL QB sustains a significant A-C joint separation [type III or greater] in the throwing shoulder, conservative rehab in the long run is not the an advised route. This is why I have such great concern for Stroud and his medical team making the decision to avoid surgical stabilization.

I don’t care who pushes the Redskins name. Bottom line, Washington should reinstate the name b/c of its heritage and how the fans would respond to the Redskins return.

I would like to see the return of the Redskins name as well. That said, they are their own franchise and should be able to call themselves whatever the Owner wants. Fans can fan or not fan at that point.

Fields dodged a big bullet.............his dislocation was not of the big toe. Had it been his big toes, surgery would have been very likely with significant down time. Healing would take anywhere from ~4-6 weeks depending on the ligament and/or possible fracture damage (determined by MRI). Pain and swelling will be his main temporary problems which will be controlled by injections and medication. But he will probably return to practice within 1-2 weeks depending on his doctors' course of plan. Longer term, his mobility should not be affected.

Here is some information on the injury aspect of the disagreement on Christian Wilkins. Several articles I read were not too clear, but this one indicates that the first surgery he had in 2024 season after 5 games and somehow the rehab did not go as expected. The team wanted him to have a second surgery and he refused. A question remains on how he re-injured the Jones Franc.
If you read the article, go past the video of Vrable talking with others about signing Wilkins. There are three comments listed and the first says there was a video showing Wilkins dancing in the dressing room without his protective boot on.
